Don't focus on your rank or even winning the set so much and try to set more gameplay oriented goals eg antiairing more, better combos, not going into burnout unnecessarily. This also helps you tilt less since you're less focused on how ass that random ryu is playing and more on your own performance. Before sf6 the western fgc was expecting a huge increase in playerbase since sf6 had so many casual features and the fact that we were moving on from the black sheep of sfv, but this never really happened so the bag they thought they'd get never happened. Now the only people left are just cynically trying to milk the fgc in absence of any passion for the game or the scene. I think the fact that it did happen in japan is making them extra bitter and resentful that they wasted their time trying to make a living on this shit for so long.

What modern does is let them beat better players which sends them up in ranked and forces them to fight people that they will never beat in a million years. The game stops being enjoyable for them because they're stuck in a rank they can't actually hang at and they believe they are too good to play with their other casual friends who can't do fireballs. It permanently ruins their perception of fighting games and we won't see the effects until a few years later when the slimers try to play another game and realize they're silver-level without one button supers and block buttons.

All the characters are fun in their own ways but she and Toph are the most fun characters in the game for me.
Korra has a fireball Rekka, can go into Avatar state install which feels like going super saiyan, she's super mobile, and has Makoto's Tsurugi. She's also the only character in the game with an invincible DP.
