What build should I play? I tried playing RF Chieftain, but even though I don't like to press complex button combinations - this is a bit dry, even for a smoothbrain like me. I finally gave poe1 a go this week after getting into poe2 since launch. I didn't like it at first and was constantly comparing it to the visuals of poe2 but the endgame has grown on me. there's a clear progression and getting atlas points is so straightforward. no pob for lazy droolers. it's fun to figure things out. here are some tips to make this work on league tho (I tested it in standard with an old nebulis):

* normal nebulis + mark of the shaper + a nice elder opal ring will help you make up the damage loss from the nebulis nerf. you get bigger shocks this way too, but no freeze. thank mohk robots for that shit
* this uses PF FF jewels+coruscating, a +2 aoe maligaro's virtuosity, and a +2 prism guard. eternal youth skin with 1g 3b 1r is 40c atm, gives you more ES+armor than gay shavs, and saves you pathing to that shit.
* get an 10% aura effect eternal struggle for ez attributes, manually path to piercing shots, and you have plenty of room to tattoo proj speed. weeee
* this works with a -4 res melding, which is nice
* ES-on-hit watcher's eye is 50c on league, and only 1 div on standard, which is hilariously out of character
* have fun, anon!

the bismuth, diamond, and elixir are full uptime btw. amethyst and granite die after a minute or two. also I forgot to turn on RF on that boss. feels poe man

I don't like PoE2 so take this with a grain of salt but the meta problem in PoE2 is; in PoE1 you have all these multiplicative forms of scaling, this means at the endgame your scaling is hyperbolic the zone of damage that will hurt you but not 1 shot your or do nothing is so tiny it's obviously hard to balance. GGG corrected for this in PoE2 by drastically limiting the amount of scaling avaliable. This means gem levels are a primary way to scale damage, which is intentional. I guess the complaint is that its a standard response for all builds, which is true and boring.

In contradiction the huge variance in PoE1 is what makes build making fun but it has probably gone too far. Feels like you're not viable if you don't have some kind of retarded gimmick scaling

Just harvest reroll defenses until t1/t1 pops up.
Then use eldritch orbs to clean and fix the suffixes.
You slam exalt/eldritch annul until you hit a t1 res then harvest change it to fire, then do the lock prefix and slam eldritch exalt gamba then finish with the craft.

It's possible to refine the simulator somewhat using inspect conditions and sneaky exalts or harvest resist swaps.
What you're actually looking for is any t1 elemental resistance for example, and then you can just use harvest to change it to fire.
