Throughout his wandering years before settling down in Eorzea, Chroma often came across the lone fisherman named Victor. Victor showed no interest in anything about the world but fishing, which Chroma quickly also became interested in. Chroma already had some amount of spearfishing experience in his time with the Tumet, but Victor glady showed him how to use a fishing rod. Victor once mentioned he came from Limsa Lominsa, so whenever they came across each other in their travels Chroma would ask him about places hes been to. Chroma had long hoped to come across him again after joining the fisherman's guild, but has yet to.

This is straight up false, a lot of people felt forced to transfer to gilgamesh to have an attempt at clearing gordias and that's when gilgamesh established its "raid server" identity. If you played the game back in 3.1 you would've known how dead the game actually was

A lot of people unsubbed earlier on but continue to give their takes on the game. A not insignificant number of posts are from people who have no idea what's actually gone on in months or years.

There's also the angle of there being content to do, but not something a particular person *wants* to do. For example the relic grind is there, but some people think it unpalatable. In that case the relic grind doesn't count as "something to do" for them, so they'll say there's "nothing" to do.

This is also a key point. Now that I've done the relic grinds, I just have to farm tomes to get new relics. The level of engagement with that content has diminished as it now is just a tome grind when I want a new one.

I went into Cosmic just now, there are 14 people in Oizys on Balmung, 2 on the Moon, and 3 in Phaenna. I think restricting that content to individual servers was a mistake in the long run because it makes the content feel more empty and creates a perception it's "dead" even though if you combined all 8 servers on Crystal into one instance, you'd probably have 100 people running around. This is especially critical for the Mech fates, where you can find yourself doing them entirely alone and failing because nobody else showed up.

In Occult Crescent, usually it's full and alive because it's Data Center based instead of server based. This can depend on time of day, right now on Crystal there are 12 people playing Occult Crescent. Besides new jobs, they didn't add much to Occult in almost a year. They should have supported it with new Fates and CEs between release and now.

tl;dr There's a bit of people talking out their ass but there's also some legitimate criticisms of how they handled content in DT, even if there's a lot of content. Different release order, better support, rewards worth farming.

There's been a contraction across all of gaming post-COVID because people are no longer stuck inside and isolated from their friends. There's also a shrinking economy where people need to be more careful about where they spend their money. The COVID boom will probably never happen again because people don't *need* FFXIV as a way to hang out with their irls and meet new people anymore.

In the long run they were wise to not go wild with their budget. What they need to do is worry less about WoW players and think more about how they're going to get the newer generations onto FFXIV and Final Fantasy in general. How do you get a Roblox kiddo interested in FFXIV? Why would a broke young adult pay a subscription for this game instead of playing Roblox steal the brainrot or a gacha game like Genshin for free? The event is simple: you bet on which CPU (Boo, Luigi, Daisy, Toadette) will be the Superstar in a game of Mario Party 6. The game will be broadcasted LIVE via Twitch (reshii_sama). Those who bet on the winning CPU will get a cut of the pot, starting at 20 million gil!
>How do I bet?
Choose a player (only one) to wager gil (5 mil max) and trade with AT at the meetup spot. The more you wager, the higher your cut of the pot will be.

I'll be present an hour in advance to log wagers for anyone who wishes to place bets ahead of time. We'll arrange a trade should you win but aren't present that night.
Betting early will make it easier for everyone; I'll make an effort to announce when I'm available to take bets on certain nights leading up to the event.

Every day after I get off my 9-5, I log in, do my roulettes, and then browse the thread while I afk in my solo FC yard, if Im not doing soloable content like cosmic crafting or fates or OC. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.I am passionate, voraciously talk about the game and while I have my harsh critiques, I still love it dearly. I'm willing to do any content with anyone.
I've missed out on about 65% of the content released in dawntrail because I don't have friends to play with.
Raid season is the worst for me:
The shiro large across from me has a raiding static and they're often in the yard. Every so often I see them together in a party before they queue into an instance. One of them is an artist whos got his twitter @ in his search info. He infrequently posts art of his static members in saccharine scenarios with a raid boss, in july he posted a pic of them getting boba tea with the cruiserweight crew.
I want it so badly it physically aches sometimes. Not the art itself, but the idea of having people who like me enough to want to include me in commemorative art pieces.

It's pretty rare, but occasionally stars align and the right people are around for conversations, usually about the state of the thread itself, that end up being pretty interesting. Like part of the reason I just gooner post instead of contributing anything meaningful is because when I have tried to talk about the game in the past, it's usually met with completely worthless responses like just instantly "You don't know what you're talking about shut the fuck up" and I think that's both untrue and a bit of a non-sequitur. Even with very casual people talking about their player experiences, there's an opportunity for a rich exchange of information there but it just doesn't happen. The conversation about experiences is just as important as the facts of the matter.
