>Dragon Age: Inquisition
Turd with no redeeming factors whatsoever. I couldn't believe Bioware game could be this bad and boring back then. I usually have a good memory for meaningless things like video game stories, but DA:l was so boring I can't recall anything from it. No other game, movie or book bored me this much.
Only thing I recall is my player character from DA2 showing up as a companion and game apparently even tried to keep personality I gave him and an appearance and he talked about choices I made. Cool gimmick, alas he wasn't even a full companion and existed for like a single otherwise boring mission.
>TESO
I was memed into buying it since apparently it was good enough to play as a discount singleplayer game. It isn't. Alongside TOR made me realize that there is no way for MMO games to be ever good. They are all, fundamentally shit by the very virtue of being MMOs. Everything from enemy behavior to quest design to nonexistent choice and consequence and more is inherently bad in MMOs and can't ever be fixed as long as they are MMOs.
>>
>>563614917
Pillars, 1 has a few things going on. But the design choices, the party members, and specially the combat weren't clicking with me, the story was also a bit of a snoozefest, and I hate that there were barely any features to keep your enemies from running past your frontliners and going for your casters, which fucks with the setup casters (like Webs and Boulders).
Is 2 better?

She didn't summon the daemon, he exposed a daemon that was using the visage of your predecessor to undermine your authority. That alone is commendable. Daemons invade the ship all the time during warp jumps, and most often require you to intervene
Not once does she betray you, even when filthy xenos could give her everything she wanted
In fact she will help you hunt that knife-eared fuck down later, and gives you a cool combat scene
She's loyal despite her flaws, perfect companion for a dogmatic RT.

This was my opportunistic crime lord retinue by the end of the game.
I had multiple thematic teams like Arbites, Criminals and Cold Traders, Religious zealots, Admech team, Mercenaries and Death Worlders, Heinrix invited his Inquisition friends and eventually Nocturne brought my Shriekers so I made Deldar gfs and a Sslyth since I learned how to further customize characters with a toybox.

with toybox, yes, although it's janky as hell, stats especially look broken if you try to make Eldar or something more unique like Marines or a Sslyth. But then they are ok once you enter combat or something like this, I don't recall correctly.
I never could get Eldar equipment to show up normally on those Deldar girls either, only via redress
Made this pic as a guide a while ago, I think I wrote instructions too, should be possible to find in 4chanarchive

found it
Spawn whatever unit you want, most likely hostile ones with Toybox. Search n pick > Unit > type something to filter
Use force recruit on them in Party screen in Toybox. Either in "enemy" or "nearby" tab
Then you can add Archetypes to them normally through leveling and whatever other talents you want like Aeldari Equipment through toybox in "Features". Homeworld and Origin you need to add through toybox too. They won't show above classes in UI, but will be in passive talents anyway and work
I looked at Marazhai abilities and manually added them too to deldar mercs in Abilities. Like Joyful Torture
It's janky as hell. Stats for some reason sometimes show up as massively bigger than they actually are during leveling. For some reason Eldar equipment still won't show on them, I guess game thinks they are human models anyway. I used redress mod to manually choose a drip on them

Idira understand where she stands. Without Theodora, there is no way she could accuse a respected and beautiful Sororita and live. Especially considering that the sister had just helped to repel a chaotic revolt, and likely became a left-hand woman for the new RT. She's an unstable psyker and knows that. She likely divined ages ago but knew she couldn't do better until Argenta confessed herself.
>>563616810
Yup. He could've given her respite from the voices, yet she explicitly chooses you out of loyalty - and possibly even sexual attraction.
>>563617021
That could be false confession inspired by guilt
And even if it wasn't, she never ever does that again, despite continuing to drink - or give in to the demands of daemon wearing Theodora's face. It would've been so easy to give in and attack you alongside the demon (which btw effortlessly possessed nearby crew members).
Idira is smart, loyal and strong-willed.

Also make sure to go to a different location, like a chapel on a ship, after recruiting them but before customizing them. Sometimes they reset back to some weird default state after I wasted time customizing them. Spawned Wyches were driving me insane, they kept switching into male Wyches when going to a different area. Only Hekatrix stayed female.

Farseers for their job have to work backwards, they see the possible far-future outcomes and have to try to steer the future into the outcomes they want (that's why it's called the skeins of fate), their job is a lot grander
Idira gets direct visions of the immediate future / prophecies of a likely future("likely" because her futuretelling comes from tzeentch and the futuretelling she's done like that was stuff tzeentch had planned, who knows how well she can see the future in the long term)

Yes, and it's one of reasons I'm never, ever again going to give a chance to Larian.
Larian is incapable of writing. Everything they write is aggressively shit to the point it's hard to ignore, especially in cRPGs. It's proto marvelslop writing basically with quips and memeshit at every point, ruining atmosphere constantly
As a result all quests, story, characters, dialogue and roleplaying are shit
Companions are especially atrocious in this game and there is no normal custom mercenary creation to make matters worse
Setting too fucking sucks, it's such a bland fantasy, but at this same time you immediately get some crossdimensional home you can access at whim, with a whacky gnome inside or some shit like this.
Both combat and leveling up is shallow and way too gamey, relying on gimmicks like barrelmancy or some status effects. You can't even have a honest to God warrior here, because basic attack is some magical dragon breath materializing dragon behind a warrior. And only 4 units to control
Eh, I guess music is ok

Eh, it's not that dangerous. Sure, she summoned a demon, but these things happen sometimes. Demons can slip aboard the ship during warp travel, even without an unsanctioned psyker on board. Sometimes they kill hundreds of people. You just gotta deal with it.

She breaks up with her boyfriend who is essentially the Superman of the setting and you're more or less the rebound guy. The other romance option is a brown tomboy ex criminal. So pick your poison. Or you can just stay single, you don't have to romance anyone despite the game really pushing it.

I don't see much reason to play on anything but normal on most games (unless they play differently or they are piss easy, like Cold Steel).
Most up and down difficulties are poorly balanced and you get shit like a gnome fucker sniping your casters at turn 1.

>>
>>
Ideal RT partners for each female companion in Rogue Trader
>Yrliet
Naive and foolish younger man, likely psyker to link over being seen as dangerous outcasts
>Cassia
Fatherlike navy man who can rein in her impulses and make sense to the colours. Has to be tolerant considering how mutated she is
>Jae
Young and inexperienced virgin, noble with image of deep pockets most likely. He should react strongly to being flirted at, be gullible regarding her stories, and easily controllable by drowning him in pussyhas to grow up fast if he wants to keep things going after Comorragh
>Kibellah
Has multiple paths, oddly enough, and since she's so devoted to domin, her path depends more on RT
>Argenta
Heretic that's into corruption, any background possible. Intermediate level gaslighting is required
>Idira
Firm imperial guard officer/commissar who's used to dealing with psykers in battle, and knows how they are from personal experience. Has to have adventurous, passionate spirit and dedication to imperium to pull her out from haze of cynicism she resides in. Appreciation of gallows humour and warning divinations arriving late required

lmao this entire ambush scenario falls flat when your party is strong enough to kill these things in one turn. I get what Owlcat was going for but the powercreep in this game doesn't really allow for scary moments. The only time it worked was with the drifting voidship because you likely stumble upon it pretty early.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563632672
It doesn't work because there 3 fucking enemies that attack you in turns. The scenario is completely disconnected from what is supposedly happening according to the description. >stop playing kingmaker
I shit on Owlcat a lot but to this day it's still jaw dropping how atrociously designed Kingmaker is compared to all their followup games. It's like they tried to emulate the aimless low level adventuring of Baldurs Gate 1, but then made it so that it's constantly timed and if you don't go to XYZ location you will get hit with an unavoidable game over.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563648502
Conceptually it's great but the Kingdom Management itself is so flawed on almost every level that it's what singlehandedly seems to get most people to quit. The issues I describe combine with the insane number of loading screens to do anything, the projects that lock you in place for weeks at a time (during which events can happen that cause game overs), most events being ChatGPT style filler that just makes number go up.
The loading screens are the big thing though, Owlcat seriously needs to move off whatever slop tweaked version of Unity they're using because playing even Rogue Trader is almost unbearable due to the 3+ loading screens on the sector map to do anything.

>You take a –4 penalty on weapon attack rolls, but you add burning hands to your list of spells known.
Take a closer look at her model hands. It's missing some fingers.

kingmaker has aged so poorly it's almost unbelievable except in one weird respect: the graphics and art style are somehow more consistent and pleasant to me than either WOTR or RT. they are a bit sparse, but extremely easy to read and elegant in a way.
WOTR has nice particle effects but feels lackluster otherwise, and Rogue Trader is without a doubt the ugliest CRPG I've ever played, only Arcanum was worse.

I though blackened was a debuff to accuracy that I would see seperately when it applies
I saw in in the act 1 combat logs iirc
Look at this image here
Blackened isn't shown
It is only shown on weapon attack rolls
But I suppose it makes sense as it is a -2 penalty
But if that is the case there is still something funky going on with the combat log

How familiar are you really with the Awakened Bears?
Because of their resilient physiology, their ancestors were charged with bringing medical care to early human colonies, a noble beginning for a species that today can be found too often working as mere military muscle.
From life-saving medic to deadly soldier.
Do we call that progress?

Can I get some recommendations on retard-proof builds for Pillars? I'm thinking I'll either play a melee gorilla, a tanky dude with a shield or just run around with firearms. I usually play on normal on my first run through a game when I'm unfamiliar with a system then switch to a harder difficulty on a subsequent run. I'm planning to play Pillars 1 then import my character into 2 and then go back again for another run depending on how much fund I had.

Bought Wasteland 3 a few days ago, and 10 hours in I'm feeling as though I've completely screwed myself over.
Trying to do the fight against the smugglers, and even if I do well and get a good chunk of them thinned out, as soon as one gets a bead on a squishy character, it's lights out.
I probably need to respec, but I don't have the spare money to do that for my whole party. I'm short on ammo, my guns are underlevelled, and I've hardly seen any armour by this point.
Is the game supposed to be like this, or should I restart?

Cassia is a sheltered scion of a noble house, who's probably expected to marry some two-headed cousin eventually to keep the Navigator bloodline pure. She hasn't previously interacted with anyone who wasn't either close family or a serf, but she's read romance novels, and starts awkwardly pursuing an illicit courtship if you're nice to her.
Kibellah is an edgy goth girl. She reads Tarot cards, cuts herself in her idle animation and calls you master. She's in a cult, but not, like, a BAD cult. She's a mysterious creature of the night, and would probably rather be playing Vampire: The Masquerade instead. It's not cringe though, since she's hot.
Yrliet talks shit nonstop, and reacts violently to any insinuation that a space elf might have sexual relations with a lesser being like a human. If you play along, you can eventually hold hands and mediate together. I like her party banter, but I wouldn't consider it a romance.
Jaethal is a shameless gold-digging harlot and probably a gypsy as well.
Solomorne isn't really a waifu since he's a man, but I'm bringing him up anyway since during his quest, you get like ten different chances to flirt with him. Basically every dialogue choice on that ship has an option to start making moves. It's bizarre. He won't start grabbing your ass unless you do it first, though, so just read the lines carefully when you're talking to him.

And this never happens either, it was datamined, back during the beta days, and the beat never reached act 5 so this never made it into the game.

Jack from Mass Effect followed by Morrigan from Dragon Age. Nobody else really comes close. I get the impression that the intention was for Wenduag to be similar but her romance arc is completely separate form her character arc so the entire thing comes off as schizophrenic.

I think you also can't take any of the dogmatic options in all the non-commoragh dialogue. SHe has two paths - Effectiveness and mercy or something. Dogmatic options are tied to effectiveness counter, while iconokek options are tied to mercy counter. I think you can't take effectiveness options at all. Look, she doesn't want to talk about it. Just drop it.
Actually when we met the cult on Footfall and they already knew her, I assumed the twist was going to be that she used to be a cultist but had a change of heart and ran away, and assumed the identity of a slain sister of battle.

Changing the subject, is there any way to remain independent during the whole Saxon-Pict conflict? Went through the extra mile to install Wada's boy, but I really don't want to take the Picts out, not good for business.
Is the game also supossed to end after the Skule's deadline? Or reach the final stretches during it? Wondering how far into the game I am, cause I really wonder if the game will let me install Norse colonies in the islands eventually or if it's gonna be all wandhaved in the epilogue

If you have 100 Power, you can use Orkenyar as a launching point for the invasion of Britain and establish the Danelaw by defeating the Picts and Northumbrians
The only way to win without making one side win or taking both over is to have 100 Prosperity, as that's enough to refute Skule's claim on Skjern during the Althing
>Is the game also supossed to end after the Skule's deadline?
If you don't attend the Althing before the deadline, then the game ends with your defeat. It's imo a pretty generous deadline though. After the Althing, there's just a bit more game left to do

Most of the fun came from ganking some poor fool with Glaito's "Attack the enemy after I attack it" ability. Otherwise it just felt like I was using him just to clean up larger areas of weakened enemies, since I didn't find his single-target damage all that good
>>
>>
>>563702318
Like hirelings? Yeah it does. You even get a unique one >>563694706 if you get rid of the Navigator companion.
>>
>>
>>563702318
It does, but the companions already cover all the Archetypes, and your RT probably covers whatever they don't, so there's not much reason to use them
The only thing you'd get out of them is being able to create a Psyker that's different from Idira or Heinrix if you're not playing as one, and to get another Navigator with a rather cool portrait
>>
>>563702463
I think you're supposed to use the double slug ability with the dog. Since regular shotgun attacks have a AoE and pushes back the enemy thus stopping the dog from doing a follow up attack. Personally though I found the dog the least useful cyber pet. Not because it's weak, it can dish out some pretty nasty damage but it just lacks the utility that the other pets have.

It's not "schizoism", she is a primarily dogmatic person but has a soft spot for children and orhpans, the future generation of servants of the emperor. There's nothing contradictory about this. Dogmatism is not mindless or needless cruelty, if someone is a loyal servant of the emperor, you work with them and support them and their children.
She puts a bullet in Mort and then in Theodroa before he even gets his safety off and while Theo is still surprised because of pic related. Acts of Faith in the tabletop, in prior editions, did include things like going first in close combat and being supernaturally accurate with ranged weapons, which would explain her speed and accuracy with Mort and Theo. The Emperor empowered her to perform a minor miracle.
She does get tortured, hers is just mental rather than physical. The deldar let her escape, let her meet the Commissar, and let her think they were having a little rebellion, so that she would be crushed when it turns out it was all a joke. Deldar don't just benefit from physical pain, they also gain satisfaction from emotional pain, and Argenta was set up for a fall. They let her escape.
Seargant Vigastes is the mane she wants to save, and he is not a deldar patsy. He was a victim impaled on the side of a ship. If you're thinking of the Commissar, she wants to help him when she is still tricked by him, and swaps to wanting to kill him when she learns his real goal.
Trials of Faith are how a Sororitas becomes a saint, and they are often done alone. Celestine famously went into the tomb of Saint Katherine alone, died, and emerged with the artifact that made her a saint, so they were just referencing that.

nta but I don't know how close you are to the ending but from remembering the game you should be able to do it at any time. but when I played the game I remember her romance events firing off pretty early on, same time as the other chick. I think morale probably has something to do with it but all I did was finish her quest about her sick sister in the prologue and she was pretty much at max morale.

This was cute. More crpg should have actual side missions that are unique to romances, rather than it just being a few extra dialogues and maybe a fade to black or animated sex scene. Actually going somewhere and doing things that are important to them and letting you know them better is a really nice touch.
>>563740990
People choosing options that was them initiating a romance with a character, and then getting "upset" and posting online about how the character came onto them and they had no choice was a small thing with bg3, so many developers just err on the side of obvious/caution.

Its almost shameful that one of the best crpgs is an mmo, though I could do with less MMO game mechanics and grindy quests in it.
Its a fanciful wish but I wish Bioware would release a streamlined version of it as a single player or co-op game so it survives its eventual closure.

What makes it not a Computer RPG? Just because its Massively Multiplayer and Online?
I've been in this thread on and off for over a year now and my takeaway is the name is completely arbitrary. This place should be renamed Narrative Roleplaying Games general or some shit. SWtOR is more of an RPG than any of the Expeditions games and probably even more of an RPG than Kingmaker.

>getting bodied by the corrupted mongrels in the Shield Maze
Am I just bad at the game?
>>
>>
>>563750448
First time playing buffclick? It's a numbers game, you either buff and have the numbers to beat their numbers or you don't, if you're getting bodied your main character likely isn't a martial, so you simply lack the numbers in the early game until you get spells that make your numbers bigger or the enemies numbers smaller
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563750549
The amount of buffing needed in Core and lower is exaggerated. If you're needing to constantly buff on Core, most likely you need to drop the difficulty to Normal.
>>563750448
>Am I just bad at the game?
Yes, play on Normal until you understand what you're doing.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>buffing isn't needed
It isn't, to a large degree, on Core and especially Normal (which is where new players should play.)
On Hard I almost exclusively buffed in combat (Ember dealt no damage the entire game, per the objectively correct way to RP her) for the first half of the game, maybe aside from a Mage Armor or Barkskin here and there (often just clicking a scroll or potion in the inventory, also)
If you "need" to constantly unload every buff possible on yourself on Core, it's time for you to turn down the difficulty to Normal, which is what you are.

>>
>>
>>
>>563751483
I don't remember Deskari's AC, I probably just left, but I have had this discussion before, because I'm correct, and many here are incorrect.
Anyhow, buffing for Deskari is extremely different from "new map, time to spend 10 minutes doing every single kind of buff I can" like a gay autistic retard
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563751508
More that if you're a normalcasualshitter, then you should play on normalcasualshitter difficulty. Not that tough to understand.
I think the problem comes from so many games giving snowflake gaymers ass pats for what should be called "normal" but instead is "EXTREME HARDCORE NOT FOR BABIES MODE"
Again, it's very simple. If you "need" to spend tons of time buffing yourself on every single map on Core, then you are a normalcasualshitter and need to play on normalcasualshitter mode.
>>
>>
>>563750549
I'm a Monk, which is technically a martial but turns out it's kind of a shitty martial.
Not sure what buffs I'm supposed to be using at this stage of the game, Camellia can cast four first-level spells per day and that's it. I keep getting two-tapped by the raging mongrel brute near the water elemental room.
