>WHAT IS HELLDIVERS 2?
HELLDIVERS 2 is a 2024 crossplay, co-op, squad-based, PvE 3rd person shooter for PC, PS5 and XBox Series X/S where players fight against hordes of alien insects, robots and squids to Spread Democracy™. Players wage war on contested planets, each with a different biome, completing as many objectives as possible in a procedurally generated level while constrained by a time limit. With enough successful missions, a planet can be defended or liberated, and the player base must combine their efforts as much as possible to Liberate™ the galaxy.

>WHAT ABOUT THE FIRST HELLDIVERS GAME?
Released in 2015 for PC, PS3/4 and PS Vita, the original HELLDIVERS is a shared screen top-down shooter in the same setting. Its mechanics were based primarily on Arrowhead's first game, Magicka.

Do you think that this game's community will ever learn that this isn't team fortress 2 and that it isn't a particularly bright idea to place sentries within 1 meter of teammates?

there are too many instances where the sentry just straight up ignores massive clusters of enemies just to prioritize aiming at the enemy where a helldiver just so happens to stand between the enemy and the sentry.
This way we can't really prove there is malicious coding straight away (hurrr sentry is aiming at the enemy durr) but I swear from my own multiple hundred hour experience if I see an enemy and I stand between the sentry and the enemy the sentry ALWAYS prioritizes that enemy it is so predictable.
>>
>>563706779
That was pretty neat. I didn't notice at the time with my teammates doing the usual
>pose for pictures with the watcher
>summon many harvesters
>do not shoot the harvesters
routine. The HMG emplacement is the only thing keeping me sane. I don't know how pubbies manage to get buck broken by harvesters so hard when it's arguably the weakest of all of the heavies.
>>
>>
>>563706983
>how pubbies manage to get buck broken by harvesters
I know, they all go like
>"oh it is the illuminate, ez heavies, I will just pick whatever is fun and hope the other guys brings some AT for harvesters"
And then all pubbies in the team think the exact same.
yay.
>>
>>563706954
I've gotten a lot of value out of sentries, but placement is extremely important. The average pubbie seems to want to place their sentries smack dab in the middle of everything where they have clear lines of fire to shoot EVERYWHERE which means that they can potentially flag EVERYONE. I feel like sentries are more effective, and definitely safer, when they're deployed somewhere where they have more constrained lines of fire and they engage a clear sector. For example, if we're raising the flag I don't want to put the sentry on the damn flag where it can shoot everywhere. I want to toss the sentry to that intersection 40m to our south. It doesn't need to assist with shooting enemies to our north. The squad now no longer needs to devote as much concentration to south since the sentry is covering that, so they're free to focus their attention elsewhere. Ideally the sentry location physically can't even get LOS on the helldivers' positions. In a pinch at least toss them to the flanks on the left or right of the battle so that helldivers are less likely to get caught in the crossfire.

Realistically how many scavengers could you beat up? No guns
Im such a pussy and dont want to get my legs sliced up
Could take down maybe 3 if I have boots on
Would just be me running away hoping to mario stomp them
These things are as big as wild hogs right?
>>
>>563706830
That's weird. The [sound=] link is just something for users with the sound for other boards plugin to sync audio that I uploaded to litterbox with the video. As far as I know, if you don't have the plugin them your browser shouldn't bother reading the link.
>>
>>563707415
You don't even need AT to kill harvesters. A coyote can potentially kill an unshielded one with one magazine.
>but they're always shielded when I'm looking at them.
I feel like I'm the only one who is making a concerted effort to destroy their shield generators when given a chance. The coyote has enough rounds in a mag to pop the shield and destroy the generator. It can do that from very far away, and then you can go for the kill once it is close enough to reliably hit the hip.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563707775
No weapons with boots? I think just the one, really. And that's with a solidly aimed kick to it's head that's a one and done deal. If I miss them I'm getting bit by the mandibles or sliced with it's front legs.
>>
>>563707996
If you have a commando, agreed. Generally I'm running coyote and de-escalator vs mecha squids. I can comfortably kill harvesters, but not at long ranges. I'll destroy the shield generators so that they are guaranteed to be vulnerable once they get within de-escalator range.
>>
>>563707775
if you had a baseball bat or something it'd be several, easy. especially if you have access to even basic armor like football pads or shin guards
unarmed and in regular clothing, I wouldn't bet on being able to fight off more than one
>>
>>
>>563707775
>These things are as big as wild hogs right?
If you're going by that size comparison pic of the scav and helldiver models in blender from last thread, you have to keep in mind that Helldivers are big compared to the average person (or maybe SEAF are really small).
Actually, how do scavengers stack up size-wise to SEAF soldiers?

I'm going to assume that a scavenger is at least as strong as a snapping turtle. They're probably too tough for me to kill with my bare hands and feet. Maybe if I had a heavy object to bludgeon them with, such as the fire extinguishers that the state mandates be close at hand within every public building.
If it was just one then I might be able to carefully pick the fucker up, but that might not be practical if multiple are coming at me at once.

>>563708548
Best bet would to flip them on their belly and curb stomp em
But if 1 leg is slice its kinda over
Snapping turtles and bite your hand off no problem too
Still I think I could get 3 down
But the last would be a total slug fest with both of us running on fumes
First guy is an instant kick kill
>>
Many people overestimate their ability to fight off wild animals. I'd like to remind everyone that a 90 pound dog is able to kill adult human beings and they do so regularly. Wild boars are even more dangerous, but they're a little bigger than scavengers, I think.
>>
File: Screenshot 2026-04-16 014700.png (422.7 KB)

>>563708273
Generally you shoot them here. Pick one hip and focus fire it. The tips of their toes are weak too, but those are only really worth shooting at if you're also baking their toes with pyrotech grenades. Medium pen weapons can score a kill in both the hip or the toes. I know diversdex is outdated, but I don't feel like doing math right now. According to diversdex a coyote AR can kill a harvester to that hip via 39 shots from its 45 round magazine. A variety of support weapons, and even primaries/sidearms can effectively damage that hip.
If you have a suspicion that you might not be able to quickly score lethal damage vs a hip, then take the time to target either of the horns to disable the shield generator.

You can prove malicious coding easily
>turrets/rovers can't see through solid objects and enemies, nor shoot through solid objects, enemies, and corpses
>rovers/turrets can see through helldivers entirely to shoot enemies through them

Leftover from the game's old monetization. I don't have the old image but basically a typical battlepass was planned with cosmetics and armor/weapon camos. New weapons would cost super credits to buy alongside skins as well. I think the image had like the fucking lib concussive or something at 615 super credits. basically AH were fucking Jews

I was perched up on higher ground than a AC sentry once, no enemies in my direction on the map especially not at that angle towards the sky, and there was a breach off to the left right in front of the sentry, it shot some volleys at the breach a few times then suddenly turned and fired one shot up at me, killing me, then turned back to keep shooting at the enemies. There was no conceivable reason for it to do that other than malicious coding, I've started recording so that next time I'll be able to show it but I'm 100% convinced now.

yep, once got killed my a MG sentry which tried to shoot at a bug breach that was not in the sight of it at all as it was obstructed by higher ground.
once it killed me it kept shooting the ground in the general direction of the breach.

Got servants of freedom, should I get the drone grenades or portable hellbomb first? 1/3 buddy bunkers don’t let me use my warp pack through them which sucks and I always use the warp pack ever since I unlocked it, portable hellbomb seems useful for bot missions just in case they got a jammer

drone grenades are pretty good against flying overseers, just make sure to throw them higher up so the closest enemy to it is an overseer so it doesnt fly towards a single voteless.
Also there is so gimmick where the drone grenade prioritizes a target that you have pinged, so ping flying overseer, throw grenade towards it BUT quite higher than you would normally throw a grenade and you should be good.

Shitty randoms take most meta layouts and then just suck ass.
No experimental infusion isn't meta pick when you suck ass. Take localising confusion. Those 30 seconds means day and night when you suck and can't kill anything.
Take RR and shoot big boys. At least you are helping.
Don't use ultimatum. You just team kill everyone for 3 times.
How about you don't take anything and learn to keep moving and how to manage your resources.

Yeah they die easily when you're a literal superhuman genetically engineered to be the peak of your race and hopped up on performance enhancing drugs.
They don't die easily when you're a middling sedentary slopman.
I imagine scavengers are like a souped up boar. I wouldn't wanna tangle with that.
Best chance is to get behind it and try and lift it so you can doomp eet off a cliff or something.

Not as badly as fleshmobs, they're pretty tame actually. The real issue is the leviathans killing all your vehicles and the flying overseers and obtruders stacking up over time while you deal with the normal overseers and mechs rushing at you.

Considering a weapon-butt or two from a helldiver kills it fairly often, I believe the hard exoskeleton of a scavenger is similar to a human skull. Assuming terminid physiology is close enough to insects, except scaled-up dramatically, it should be fairly susceptible to something as simple as a hard soccer-kick to it's side, although again assuming their bug-like properties they should be able to take quite a bit of punishment unless you crush the head.
As for claws and their damage, it's actually plausible since many bugs are capable of large amounts of explosive energy, although it might be less pronounced for a scavenger due to the increased mass of their bodies. Funnily enough, the speed they move at is very slow for their size, as many animals around their size IRL can easily double their top movement speed. What does this mean? It means that they're possibly equal or even less of a threat compared to a wild boar - an animal that's well documented and known for their resilience. Meanwhile, while a scavenger may pose a threat because of it's blade-like appendages, a straight kick could be more than enough to at least stun it, maybe enough to even crack the skullplate, although they still can show surprising amounts of speed and energy exertion into swiping with their claws, so maybe they're more dangerous than boars which typically rely on tackling and goring with their horns.

I don't know where you get the idea from that these things aren't sturdy.
A helldiver hits with enough force to stagger a literal machine that weighs upwards of 300kg. Trying to use a helldiver's prowess as a measuring stick for what some average bean can do is silly.
A scavenger also routinely breaks the limbs of aforementioned superhumans and that's through armor.
Scavengers are not push-overs when facing ordinary humans.

Squid mechs don't get stuck under floors or phase through buildings like fleshmobs love to, but the melee mechs love to charge straight up and over walls and terrain to smack you when you think you should be out of reach.

I read someone say that you can use the Reinforce stratagem ball to determine if a surface will bounce your stratagem ball or not. I'll try it out tomorrow.
The idea is since you can call for reinforcements even if no one is dead, you can use the blue ball to test suspicious surfaces.
If the reinforcement ball disappears instantly, the surface is valid.
If it bounces, invalid.

there is this swigger code where your weapon's so-called circle moves faster the further it is away from your actual aiming spot.
So if you want the circle to reach the destination faster, over-aim much further and then then quickly snap back to the intended aiming spot
e.g. you want to aim at the bug that is 90 degrees to your left. instead moving your mouse 90 degrees, you move it 180 degrees to your left.
the circle is now forced to move really fast to your current aiming position. when it is halfway there you quickly turn RIGHT 90 degrees and basically stop in in it's tracks right somewhere around the bug.
This saves you like 1-1.5 seconds but we know that 1 second can be really important when our helldivers are made out of playdough.

It’s unexpectedly fun carrying this thing around - sometimes it really helps.
But I’ve got another question: are there any plans for content like longer expeditions or something similar? There are so many beautiful maps, but there’s often neither the time nor much reason to really explore them.

i guarantee most people who don't get in the tank, fully assume it plays like the scorpion in halo where you don't really need anyone in it other than maybe for the machine gun.
Had a pubby get in with me and he fired one shell off and never reloaded until i told him he could. and then he shot once more before giving up and just machine gunning for another 30 seconds and then got out
>>
>>

It would feel and look retarded.
When you lug around a huge machinegun and want to quickly aim it at something to your left you will naturally overshoot it and then correct afterwards instead of slowly dragging it over.

Needing to initiate the loading process at all feels completely superfluous.
Reloading doesn't actually stop you from doing anything, it doesn't impact your gameplay in any way, it would be like if you had to initiate the recharge on the quasar.
It's clearly an autoloader based on the fact you can still operate the weaponry during the reloading process and a single man wouldn't be reloading a 120mm gun that fast anyway, you just need to tell it to start reloading for some reason, it's not like you can select from multiple shell types that would perhaps make you want to select a shell type before reloading.

Sorta. I like it becauseit synergizes perfectly with the Epoch, one Rocket Pod calldown and one fully-charged Epoch shot is usually enough to kill a regular heavy, so you can circumvent the biggest complaint about Epoch which is the whole "you need to take two shots to kill something" bullshit. Beyond that, it can kill Fabricators in one shot, which is super useful, and with a double Eagle stratagem setup you can use it three times and then do a faster Rearm.

People have been pretty critical of the backpack grenadelauncher but since I got it I feel like it performs pretty decently? It can tear down most heavy units pretty easily while still mowing down chaff. I'm not saying it's the strongest thing ever but I expected it to be way worse from what I've read here.

I imagine they aren't super flexible like cats so they couldn't harm me from that position but getting there isn't going to be easy.
If I had a metal pipe or similar I could probably take two or even three at once if I'm not cornered. I have zero confidence I could take any other bug, including pouncers and spitters.

When it first released, it came at the same time that the regular Grenade Launcher got a buff to its armor pen, so it was literally worse in almost every metric that mattered. After Grenade Launcher got reduced back to AP3 and the BFGL got an ammo buff, it's still slightly worse but at least it isn't completely eclipsed anymore.
>>563740516
The De-Escalator suffers from an identity crisis and I hate it for that. It was originally advertised as a "less-lethal crowd control grenade launcher" which would make you think it was good at stunning shit. But instead, it's the "dump all the rounds into a heavy's head and kill it because the armor pen and wonky arcing damage mechanics lets you do that" weapon that isn't even good at stunning crowds of enemies.
Not even joking, I would use it more often if it had its damage nerfed greatly, but in exchange each grenade dealt at least Stun Grenade tiers of stun in a wide area. Let me actually crowd control with the thing.

>BFGL does 2,000 damage against AP4
You are dealing 90 damage per shot against AP4 after the armor damage reduction, and then a further 25% explosive damage resist reducing it further to 67.5 for parts not 100% resistant entirely.
Enemies in this category have health pools in the thousands just in their heads. The Charger's head is 1200. It takes 17 shots to a Charger's head to kill it.
>>
>>
>>
>>563742154
Crowd control by itself is dogshit when you don't have enough killing power to actually dispose of the stunned enemies. But in a teamwork environment where there's actual killing power, crowd control makes the enemies a lot easier to kill and prevents the team from being overwhelmed. Why do you think Gas Mines and EMS/Gas Mortars are so useful in Spread Democracy missions?

The EMS Mortar is advantageous because it provides stun over terrain you can't see normally. Its niche is in how it delivers the stun, not so much that all it does is stun.

"Crowd control" is only worthwhile if the opportunity cost to kill the enemy is very high while the opportunity cost to stun them is very low. With the exception of gas making enemies retarded, all of the crowd control effects in this game have extremely fucking high opportunity costs because Alexus is a retard.

Shrapnel does 110 damage and has negligible drag, only slightly higher than ARs and machine guns at 40%. No idea why you think it's 0.4 damage/meter when no one actually knows what the drag calculation is.

Arc effects (damage, how many targets the arc will jump to, stun duration) feel random. One shot might get the maximum number of jumps while another one doesn't.
You're getting bad information though. Kill counts on certain weapons / backpacks are broken. Guard dog and arc-based weapons seem particularly susceptible to this. I've regularly seen single kills get counted as 3-4. The K9 backpack is the pinnacle of both problems. It seems to pull inflated kill counts, is extremely inconsistent, and is a TK machine on top of it. That's why I love it so much.

Because in the absence of enemies that are capable of instantly killing your sentry like Chargers and Harvesters (or if you're good at staying on top of killing them before they can kill your sentry), Gatling is far better at "I will kill every non-heavy enemy in this general area and leave nothing to worry about, and even still stick around in case some unexpected stragglers pop up." The MG Sentry is slower at killing, oftentimes runs out of ammo before all the enemies die, and in some situations can get surrounded and destroyed by chaff while it tries to kill them. It's worse at uptime and "efficiency," but if you don't need to throw something down every 100 seconds, the Gatling is better for stand-and-fight situations.

Pretty sure all sentries have the same timer that makes it automatically retract even if it has ammo remaining. The MG Sentry's cooldown is low enough that if your first one doesn't run out of ammo or die, you can toss a second one and have two at the same time for a short period of time. Don't think I've ever done that with the Gatling.

Bugs would be the easiest because you could just make it so chargers and titans can flip it
Bots they could just make certain of the little units spawn with AT missiles, if the current bots aren't tough enough on their own
Squids they could make the tank a bit weak versus their energy weapons, so you could mow down zombies but have to be careful about projectiles
That's just off the top of my head, and they don't even have to make new units. But even that is too much work for the lazy swigger, who makes the average nigger look like an Irish sandhog from the 1910s

As far as shrapnel goes, yeah. Especially for such a small explosive.
Grenades usually have a effective shrapnel range well below that, any injuries caused further than that are almost freak accidents, and even the most ridiculously packed 20mm shells will have a small fraction the explosive filler of a hand grenade.

The gatling sentry doesn't immediately stop firing once it finishes killing a target. It takes a second to finish spinning down first. Not only does this waste TREMENDOUS sums of ammo, completely negating its "advantage" of having more ammo than MG sentry, but it will happily keep mag dumping the whole time after killing one target as it spins 180 degrees to kill something else in the other direction. This will cut teammates in half as it happily spins around in circles while holding the trigger down and flagging the entire fucking world.
You must have 20 minutes of game time to not have noticed this.

There should be missions that take place in the area an ICBM is targeted
In ICBM missions they go off a dozen miles away
But there should be a giant red zone that appears on maps that tells you to run away or else you'll all die unless you go to the non-red zone
Just to make the planets feel a lil more connected
>>
>>
>>563756108
Anon, an ICBM blast range is fucking massive. The speed it reaches the destination during ICBM missions means it's a close target, and the mission area is already skirting the edge of the safe zone of it's blast radius.
Now if instead you made it an overground mission that can turn into underground mission, you have something special.

Stop thinking of your sentry as a main damage dealer.
Start thinking of your sentry as a disposable SEAF battle buddy you can call in and deploy on demand to provide flanking fire damage multiplication and or serve as a distraction while you run away.
This is why the regular machine gun sentry is a a battlefield king. You will almost always have something available to provide covering fire for a seconds on demand

Finally 1000k, when do you guys started playing?
>December 2024
I remember playing this game religiously every day, stopping like in April or May, then picking it up again in September and I've playing it almost every day ever since into the unjust came out.
I decided to run some games using the standard loadout (Liberator, peace maker, frag nades, orbital strike, mg, sentry and EAT's) against bugs and mindless hordes and it was quite fun.
Frag nades are easily a 10/10, the liberator is so reliable and never lets me down, same goes for the EAT's, the orb strike and MG are really underwhelming, idk what is it with the MG, it just feels weak for some reason.

I have never seen any discussion on this board about "chargers" that is not implicitly referencing behemoths. Why even talk about sub-D7 enemies?
Hilarious that normal chargers were your default reference as if you play sub-D7 regularly, you don't right?
Anyway, BFGL is still great against bugs since they get fucked by explosive damage anyway and thermites/ultimatum are always useful for any chargers not killed by your teammates. It also isn't bad against BTs in a pinch. Note that I said not bad and not that it is efficient at it.
Excellent against bots too due sustained firing, strong AP, and damage type. Surprisingly good against War Striders and can be used to take down Gunships on occasion.
Idk about Illuminate, I still don't respect them as a faction.

>>563752493
You're a retard for putting the sentries alongside your squad like they're one of the boys. A sentry's ability to draw aggro is not a downside, it is one of its greatest strengths that you should be leveraging. Toss the sentry over to the flanks or slightly behind the breach at something like the 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock positions. Now, when the chargers spawn, they turn to face the sentry. The charger's ass is now exposed and it can be easily killed by the helldivers with all sorts of weapons. ACs/eruptors/grenade launchers/machineguns/what have you. Now you have an easily killed charger without needing to use full blown AT to do it.
TECHNOLOGIA.

>>563739175
>When they changed the ricochet mechanics for all guns, the first initial pass had all bouncing bullets just blatantly heat seek you and teammates.
what is this retarded imagined bullshit?
the "ricochets will now properly hit the helldiver that fired them" patch didn't make them into fucking player seeking missiles. prior to that a ricochet could hurt other enemies or other players but not the person who fired the shot that bounced. all that patch did was enable self damage on ricochets
>>
>>
>>
>>563758741
Getting uppity because someone used a Charger as an example is not only not the point of the argument, in which the BFGL is naff against big enemies, it's more damning for the BFGL. It struggles to kill a Charger head on with 15% of its ammo pool. It takes roughly 22% for a Behemoth. Meanwhile the De-Escalator, a non-backpack weapon, can also kill a basic ass Charger in 15% of its ammo pool (6 shots). Granted there's a dice roll involved, but it's capable, and your ass is free for a Warp Pack, or a Supply Pack, or a Guard Dog etc.

Recoilless takes 1/6 (16.66%) of it's ammo pool to kill a charger.
BFGL still kills a behemoth (I would say charger but that would confuse you) shooting the head within the time it takes for a recoilless to reload and uses 21 nades or 17.5% of it's total ammo.

Here's what I've been using
>heavy space-cop armor to negate the threat of a flying oveersaars deciding to properly aim today and nail you with a full fucking burst to the chest. medium space-cop if the terrain is really shitty like snow/mud.
>coyote
>warrant or grenade pistol. Pick your poison between a sidearm that is good at quickly killing watchers/flying oversaars/shield broken mech pilots/melee oversaar in your face, or something extra for destroying UFOs and arc towers
>arc grenade
>De-escalator
>supply pack
>HMG emplacement
>AT emplacement
Coyote is good at dealing with obrtruders/oversaars, and can be used to destroy harvester shield generators if given the opportunity. In a pinch you can kill harvesters outright with it. De-escalator basically fucks over everything on the mechasquid front (just don't shoot it near friendlies). If the enemy force starts reaching critical mass, arc grenades are very effective at killing groups of oversaars and even mecha squids. Just don't toss the arc grenades uphill because they'll probably bounce downhill. The HMG emplacement is THE best in class weapon to solo entire fucking squid drops. You just need the breathing room to set the thing up (arc grenades can create that breathing room). AT emplacement is basically a slightly weaker HMG emplacement vs the squid forces, but it also gives you an option for clearing out landed warpships since this loadout otherwise is a bit lacking in terms of demo force for destroying spawners.
>>
>>563760502
it didn't retard. the reason there was so much hysteria over it was because people read that patch and then went and fired their eruptor and got killed by the orbital airbust tier shrapnel it prodeded and misattributed it to this change. normal bullets riocheting didn't start magically seeking player heads. all the hysteria was over the eruptor killing the user because people were now aware that "something changed" and blamed it, which eventually lead to the the eruptor having its shrapnel removed
>>
>>563760818
The only change that it needs is having its lopsided kinetic vs explosive damage ratio fixed. It used to be a 1:2 kinetic to explosive damage ratio, until the 60 day patch where the kinetic damage got cranked way up while the blast stayed the same, turning it into a 3.5:1 ratio, while a lot of the enemies had their health increased, which effectively nerfed the explosive part of the strike.

Shouldn't the BFGL leg-meta the chargers? That's 1000 AP4 armor to defeat + 800 AP2 to defeat, compared to 1600 AP4 for the head. In addition to opening the door for alternative weapons to finish off the exposed legflesh, I think it's effectively less HP going for the legs than purely going for the head once you factor in the armor/AP match damage reduction.

Look, here, I'll make it simple for you.
We're shooting a new enemy, it's a sphere that's AP4 all around with a 25% explosive resist. It has no weakpoint to exploit, it is a vague representation of all AP4+ enemies in the game emulsified into a ball.
>>
honestly I don't know the math but BFGL does fuck up chargers fast which is really convenient on top of being pretty good for chaff and mid-sized targets
it does chew through a lot of ammo on BTs though so that sucks

>I think the Aphet rounds should go through enemies
I don't think you understand how an APHE shell works. APHE stands for "armour piercing, high explosive" which means even though it is an armour piercing shell, it contains a high explosive bursting charge designed to explode inside the target after penetrating armour. If an APHE shell is going through multple targets it means it's not detonating. in game terms that means it would have its 150 damage secondary explosion on impact and the projectile would have a much lower durable damage ratio since the HE part is what is contributing to its 80% durable damage ratio (was 100% before it got a damage buff)
>>
>>
>>

they can be good on bugs, though they act more like an unupgraded 500kg in that it usually takes two uses to kill a bile titan, and you only get 4 uses, so you only have "two uses" of it. they're more consistent than 500kg though in that they'll never fail to do dmg despite exploding directly on an enemy

How would you fix Eagle rocket pods? My idea:
>revert explosion back to AP5
>increase explosion inner radius to 3m
>increase impact damage to 800
>add a spread pattern to decrease accuracy to an area about 10m wide
>revert uses to base 2
Now you have an airstrike that can target a heavy in a group or one massive enemy, either dealing high damage to multiple heavies and their supporting units, or spreading a lot of damage out across several parts of something big.
I think that would differentiate it enough from EAS, 500kg and ORC while also fulfilling a niche that doesn't exist in any of the reds.
>>
>>563771582
Maybe make it loud as hell so you get patrols zerging you and you have to reposition after each shot. Doesn't make much sense when rocket launchers and machine guns don't have the same effect but w/e, I'm just thinking of downsides that would convince the swiggers to implement such a weapon.
Not that I personally have an issue with it as you described, I'm all for OP weapons and power creep, I think that's what keeps the game zesty and moving forward
>>
>>563775765
110mm rockets are supposed to be the eagle equivalent of the orbital railcannon strike. giving it big splash radius and area of effect goes against its identity
what it actually needs is even tighter spread so most of the rockets actually hit the same part, and it needs medium units like scout striders and brood commanders removed from its targeting pool
>>
>>563775765
2 uses is too little. 110mm pods are meant to be a red alternative to support weapons, and a weaker version of the railcannon. The problem is it consistently feels weaker than support weapons and doesn't have as much uptime either.
If the 110mms were both consistent and had 4-5 uses, they'd be a fantastic plug for people running the Stalwart/MMG/Laser Cannon etc. who need a punchier option against bigger targets with less critical weakpoints.
>>
>>
>>563775765
make three of the rockets HE-TBX and have the other two retain HEAT properties and further evolve it into a gambler's weapon of choice
buff the HEAT rockets damage to at least 1300, reduce splash to like 50
nerf the other three to 500 but give it a gas confusion effect and heavy fire DOT to further simulate the TBX part, maybe even create a minor smoke curtain
and remove the autoaim

Maybe it just needs the AP5 explosion back. Nerfing it to AP3 was a weird decision that took away a lot of its consistency and made that entire aspect of the damage model useless because most of the shit you use it against takes no damage from medium AP explosives.

it's a HEAT rocket, not a high explosive rocket, the secondary explosion is incidental. having the damage front-loaded into the projectile is better since it bypasses exDR. on paper the rockets do a combined 3600 AP7 100% durable projectile damage and could kill chargers, hulks, tanks, and even warstriders with a single call-in. the problem is it just doesn't always deliver all that damage to the same part, or it misses completely. yes yes making it a big boom would solve that but you also don't want it to have a big explosion so you can use it close to friendlies like the ORC can.
they don't need to rework it and make it into something it isn't, they just need to tighten the bolts on the spread pattern of the rocket, both in each volley and between each volley.

He states during his commentary, at 29:12, that the devs confirmed they coded the sentries to shoot at you on purpose "because it would be funny" but doesn't give a source on that. I'm assuming they said something in the discord once.
Anyone have a screenshot of them saying something to this effect?

My experience is it's not so much the game is coded that the turrets will shoot at you on purpose, but what I incidentally feel is true in my bones is that the game will intentionally spawn enemies in such a direction that the sentry has to cross your path to shoot them.
This is very noticeable on Squids who get spawned in by their portals when direct reinforcements aren't involved. You'll watch your Gatling Sentry swing in your direction to shoot Voteless that just appeared directly behind you.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying in the post you replied to. On launch, it had a small(1.5-5m) AP5 explosive effect which tacked on an extra 200 per rocket. It got nerfed to AP3 around the time of the heavy enemy rework, which means that 200 damage is now effectively missing from it on anything with a heavy armored main.
Having that small AP5 explosive effect adds consistency by overlapping the explosive damage in the space between the aiming points. That also opens up the ability to hit multiple parts and stack additional damage to make up for any that hit non-effective targets like Vox cannons.

Maybe have the rocket pod eagle have an armament of 8 or 12 rockets, and you can choose whether to use 2, 4 or all of them. But once they are expended either they are gone for good or the eagle has an extended rearm

The heavy Dust Devil set
>+20% throwing range which just fucks up your innate sense of distance on the toss
>Meaningless +40% protection to all elements
I also like the look of the fat set from Control Group, and that passive is just straight up worse medic and will actually kill you in situations you could have survived, because the passive has a tendency to activate at <10% HP

I run servo-assisted, so Dust Devils was actually a godsend for MY innate sense of throwing distance when I was sick and fucking tired of getting lit on fire on certain planets and against the Incel Core.

I hate bugs so much. Why the fuck do they just have so much fucking life and there's always way too many. God damn I will kill 50 million bugs but one of them is glitched inside of a tree or something and summons 50 million more.

I know nothing about this gun but I desperately want it if it's what it looks like. 2-handed Knight with assault rifle ballistics is at the top of my wish list for new guns.

Doesn't help that the next major update will be in June. I'm inclined to think they'll release it late April as a stop-gap for May.

Probably the more likely option, which I would also rock the living fuck out of against AV3-heavy sub-factions like Appropriators or Rupture Strain. It'd probably be the most OP gun in the game if it was anywhere close to that 1380 RPM even if it did ~55 damage. That's 75% of the Breaker's DPS and just short of the Liberator Carbine's, on top of having medium pen.

The resistance numbers in this game are scaled in a way that doesn't match up with how you'd expect percentages to work.
>Fire and gas damage you at roughly the same speeds
>80% gas resist on heavy armor + VitBoost makes you immune to gas
>75% fire resist on heavy armor + VitBoost might be slower, but it's pretty damn notable even when this neutered
>Meanwhile 90% arc resist can barely save you from the likes of the Tesla Tower

Dood, the next mech is gonna be added by the next warbond!! You can get it after paying 1000 super shekels and 280 medals!!!! You can set things on fire and shoot an inferior version of the AT turret for about 20 seconds before you get crushed like wet paper by a medium unit!!! Aren't you excited????

I'm more looking forward to the new biomes. More changes of scenery is nice and (hopefully) not something Arrowhead can fuck up too much.
Oh, and whatever the final version of the warp gate missions are going to be.
