It really isn't. It did better and it reached more eyes by value of netflix, but that doesn't mean all future stories are going to revolve around the shatterverse or the new shiny power rock. It's a mainly self-contained story and it doesn't really have other characters other than the copies of the cast that existed. IDW despite not being a major product, has more power to shape the franchise because it can introduce new characters, locations and groups. It's not contained to a singular story, it's multiple. We might get something using the shatterverse/prism in the future, but all of those future somethings can include idw shit.
