I'm really excited for the new card type, but I really wonder what that could possibly be. My thought was that it'd be a type that causes permanent effects on the board or players, unlike the temporary nature of boosts or traps.

Boosts and Event cards already are capable of being permanent or effectively permanent (oh my friend, holy night, melting memories, indiscriminate fire support)
A new card type needs to function in a categorically different manner from the existing types.
>Boost
Either self-afflicting or targeted effect.
>Event
A global effect or one that affects the table itself (includes board, cards, and all players)
>Battle
For battles only
>Trap
Play during standby, activate when landed on.
>Gift
Activated while held
>Unit
Not actually played, but brought into play by another effect.
With these in mind, you need to consider what other times or interactions even exist with cards, triggers could be setup to be when drawn, on discard, or any other game event such as upon KO, triggering specific panel types, etc. However that has a lot overlap with the Gift type.
Will be interesting to see what it's about, since the last time we got a new card type, we got several characters that cared about them in short order: Tsih, Nico, Aru

Banners seem like a really cool idea, they're like the opposite of traps too where you'd want to put them out of the way so they don't get landed on. I wish they added more than 3 of the them though, it could be a long time until our next card pack
That new gift card that lets you place traps anywhere within a radius of you is absolutely insane holy hell
I'm not really crazy about these two cards though. Go with the Flow just seems like a much worse here and there. It really should be free. Meanwhile Full Burst has that same Price of Power effect that I feel like no one ever uses. Most cards aren't higher than like level 3 and you won't really be able to play a higher level card early on because they're usually expensive

Go with the Flow is Superior to here and there, may even be an acceptable replacement for Dash in some cases. Seems so good on Poppo Mixed.
I also feel that Feel the Rush with an Energy Drink is superior to Extend.
Full Burst seems really good too.
Fluffy and Fuzzy is cool, don't think many characters would use it though.
And then the rest of the cards don't matter, and seem more character specific.

I think Go with the Flow will be more valuable on larger boards. It gives you a faster lap without giving it to your opponents. It'd be a safer escape for star farmers too, since if everyone is grouped up in one corner of the board it'll ensure you'll be warping somewhere away from all the threats. Here and There is more likely to leave you with someone still in chasing range.

Disrupting an opponent on a large map deals significantly more anguish to them. And if you are in a situation where you can do it to multiple opponents its even better.
Flow is selfish but kind enough to not bother others but sometimes all you can do to hit the leader is throw some bullshit at them to stall since you can't guarantee that anyone can get within striking distance

You go around the board collecting stars or battling players or NPCs to collect wins. When you've collected as much as your norma requirement, you go to a home space to level up and then select what your next norma goal will be. When you've leveled up 5 times, you win. The cards have various effects for both in and out of battle. They all have a minimum level requirement and some have a star cost to pay. Each character also has a unique hyper card only they can draw which is what drives the character specific strategies.

That does lose out on the interactivity of letting people choose the characters. What would have been best is having the vote take place in-game and associating a steamworks flag with it. Though obviously this would have added development time to create UI for this one thing, which we all know Fruitbat is notoriously slow at developing. I feel like that might make people feel pressured to both stick to only one character for a month and play pretty much constantly. People would make lobbies to farm play counts and there will be accusations of botting. Overall don't think anyone would be happy with this, and I personally don't like competition events where the winner is whoever no-lifes the game the hardest. Maybe the idea of having an event that encourages players to main one character might be interesting as it could grant enough insight to possibly counter-pick players during deck creation. Though I would want the reason you're maining a character to actually add something to the gameplay and not just be an arbitrary requirement for event progress. Maybe something expanded from the Bounty and Co-op modes where individual characters have exp levels that unlock buffs for them.

Well yeah, you should buy those. Having more cards to build decks with opens up more options for utility. Though all the cards from each player get shuffled into the same deck, so it's not like the cards are unavailable to you without owning them. But you can create better synergy if you build the decks yourself.

Basically you can select another player and if the boss fights them or they land on a boss panel, you and your targeted player fight the boss, but you both get +1 to every stat which uh, it ain't shabby to say the least.
As an ability with a long cooldown you can even cancel your target player's fight in case you're worried they'll die
Also you can purge debuffs from people which is really good for this boss and they'll gain hp (as in the overheal) for each debfuff they had
It's kinda an offensive hybrid between the defender and healer classes. Powerful, but can't do too much support if things are going wrong and obviously can get chipped down.

It's a character and card based board game where the goal is to complete your norma condition and then return to a home tile to cash it in to level up. Do this five times and win. Your normal condition could be either collect a certain number of stars or win a certain number of battles. You must choose which you'll go for after each level up and you cannot switch normas until you level up again. You gain stars passively per-turn but can get more through bonus tiles and card effects. You can also battle other players and if you KO them you earn 2 wins and steal half of their stars. Each character has their own combat stats and a unique hyper card only they can draw from the deck. The hyper usually pairs with the character's unique gimmick and helps define their playstyle. Like for example, Kae gets bonus attack in combat for every negative defense point she has. Her hyper inflicts a status debuff on herself and everyone around her which lowers defense, so it boosts her attack more. Every player also picks a set of 10 cards which get added to the central deck which everyone draws from, meaning you could draw cards someone else put in the deck.
So basically, go around the board. Collect stars. Bully nerds. Land on a home to norma.

Yeah, as for character nerfs there isn't too much:
There's Marie Poppo, Nico, Cook, and if you were there when Orange Juice Stats was a thing then there's also Islay who consistently had the highest win rate.
There's also Popomi can still Norma even when she rolls a 0 due to Tendonitis, which I think is just more of an oversight than anything.

I didn't really put down much in the way of nerfs, I don't see much of a problem if someone's a bit too strong, but Krilaris Pajamas in Bounty Hunt is a little goddamn insane.
I let em have it for buffs though. In the dropdown I put Teotoratta because she's just an actual failure of a character but in the write-in box at the bottom I wrote that Malt, Suguri 46, and Haruka could also really use a buff

They've been pretty consistent about the sentiment of not wanting to have anything be permanently missable. The rerun schedule for events can be a bit miserable at times.
My biggest issue with collabs is that product placement shit just never fits. I don't want a videogame to make me acutely aware that I'm being advertised to for some out-of-touch out-of-place (((product)))

I've always had an idea for her that sounds like blasphemy but I think would actually make her decent.
Give her naturally +3 ATK (though maybe -3 DEF to compensate).
She's supposed to be a glass cannon but Kae already does everything she does and better where Kae has extra evasion, has better defense when she's attacked on the field, better recovery, and a far better hyper.
If anyone should naturally have that high ATK too, it should be the story's antagonist.

That is a realistic concern. If it's an event then it might be difficult to rerun it in the future if the collaborating party is no longer under contract for it. If it's bonus content from a different game or other piece of media, there's no guarantee the other party is going to keep that available forever. Even if it's just DLC, free or otherwise, it could still be pulled later. Though if it's a collab with another indie or doujin group there probably isn't much to worry about.

That sounds more like you have a beef with Kae than with Mio. Controlled damage to setup a KO is the bread and butter strategy for characters like Marc since before the game was even translated, Mio's version of it is just a bit weirder.

She's mixed poppo but with a pudding built into her kit. Playing her is fun enough imo and there are a lot of cards that naturally favor characters that want to avoid combat that Poppo already is bringing. Definitely a high-roll character that wants lots of warp panels though.
They did already buff her so she feels like she's in a much better spot already. I haven't really seen many people taking issue with her, at least not as vocally as when her husband (that rawdogged her) was added

I found an archive of the stats as of a couple months back, I can't check by date to see if Mother Poppo's rates improved thanks to the buff, but I guess I won't ask for a buff right now. I still think she kinda sucks, but there are characters who need buffs more.

I wish they'd actually make DLCs again, the last batch of characters was nearly a year ago and characters are always fun (well the random Bounty Hunt OCs kinda sucked, but for whatever reason the new storyline with the school has me liking the characters more)
Everything seems super delayed lately. That recent co-op event that came out in December was intended for summer.
Apparently they've had setbacks where the people they contracted to make the video for the audio dramas have been busy and haven't gotten around to it. I am really interested in them, though I can't help but worry they won't sell the best. How many people even know the source material of these characters or care?

Mama Poppo is balanced. She has several cards that she synergizes with, including a delayed pudding she can access at all levels that pays for itself.
I'll concede that Mixed Poppo is strictly better though.

Mother Poppo is the second worst character in the game by a lot. Also Islay is super low for some reason.
I've heard people talk about how bad Pomeranius is. He's consistently performing terribly but honestly I just can't really bring myself to care to even think about him much, he's just an absolute mess of weird passives with a strange hyper and I have no idea where you'd even begin balancing him

Suguri 2 and 46 Billion have both been absolutely cursed when it comes to balance where they've had a ton of changes with it still not being enough and we'll be getting another Suguri a couple character packs from now.
