Blue quests have variants now which can be a bit jarring, completing a quest or picking it up and canceling and then going into a safe zone (or maybe just going into a safe zone should be enough? Can't remember for sure) should rotate the quest to the next variant, as far as I know the order in which they show up is random.

Reasons to be optimistic about the future of the franchise:
- Devil May Cry reached its highest peak under a different director
- Capcom contracted Kamiya to direct a sequel to Okami, a game that bombed financially, some 18 years after he left the company
- Kinoshita didn't leave with Itsuno, Ikeno and Nakagawa
- according to the latest datamine, Monster Hunter Wilds is getting a Switch 2 port, supposedly launching alongside the G rank expansion to revitalize "soft" sales. Granblue Fantasy: Relink is launching on the same platform with an expansion, two years after its original release. DDDA sold 1.3 million copies on Nintendo Switch
- The Witcher 3 might be getting a new DLC, after 11 years
- Capcom listed Dragon's Dogma among its key brands right after Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter in their FY23 Earnings Summary

Quick question bros, does resting in the unmoored world immediately advance the fog? I wanted to rest to teleport everyone to the city but I'd rather not miss out on the one boss that's at the edge of the fog in the encampment
>>

Honestly the Brine is keeping us from the wealth of sea monsters.
And I'd prefer if most of the enemies stayed in that sort of Babylon-Egypt-Greece era. Clops, chimera, medusa, griffin, hydra, sphinx, sirens etc are what sort of make this series unique. Jumps to biblical or D&D or non-mediterranean in general are a nice change of pace but I want to keep that Homeric hero aspect.

Honestly, I just want DD, but purely Homeric. As is, it's oldschool d&d: the action game. Remove Gransys and it becomes the Legendary Adventures of Hercules/Xena.

Played DDO pretty much all day yesterday. So far, the quests are just bad. Talk, loading screen, run all the way here, go back, loading screen, repeat. It reminds me of Starfield.
The crafting has confused me to the point I don't even want to fuck with it.
And why is everything so fucking tanky? I came across a 15 level ogre, I was 15 as well with the best gear I could find at the time. Like 20 minutes just jumping and slashing repeatedly. and his rage mode, i guess it is, just lasts for so long. I wonder why if it always activates at 75% health, why they don't simply start with it anyway? I don't know, 'm still very early in to the game so I know I'm very far behind and dont know anything just yet. trying to do it spoiler free, but with so much japanese, feels like im missing a lot of finer details.
Still, it's so fun and im loving it. I was hesitant against getting two other pawns, since I always loved exploring with just Me and pawn. but if enemies are gonna be such a bitch, I'm gonna have to get them.

Bosses are tanky unless you go at them with a full party of 4 with proper gear (LV), also the type of vocation matters a lot, blue vocations are the only ones that can give the party elemental buffs and that's a significant amount of extra damage, green vocations can expose a boss' core when it's enraged and hitting that core means a lot of extra stamina damage so you can knockdown the enemy, that's the basics.

if you're playing a red voc then you need a green and preferably a blue too for bosses. you should be able to make a second pawn of your own by that point, buy some rift crystals(?) and give em to the dragon
>The crafting has confused me to the point I don't even want to fuck with it.
what's confusing about it?
>>
>>2246644
Any reason to buy DD2, or should I just wait for Denuvo to get removed? It's like one more month for its 2 year anniversary and if nothing is said by that point, then there's no more updates and Denuvo should be removed. but there's a sale for it at the moment, seems like a good price, and there are some mods that look fun that will probably be easier to run with a legit copy.
I fucking HATE capcom btw
t. poor man
>>
>>
>>
>>2253586
You can't just brute force a boss in rage mode, you need to focus on reducing their stamina by either attacking their secret core (need green vocation to reveal them) or stun them by attacking their head/weakspot which will fill the yellow shield gauge, once it turns blue the monster will stagger and receive massive stamina damage.
>>
>>2255562
>Denuvo should be removed
They could replace it with Enigma like they did with RE4, but that happened after 3 years instead of 2 so who knows. I'd say buy the game and enjoy it now, it's even cheaper on legit key reseller websites

It's been years but I remember he criticized pause menu healing, which is something that I also don't like usually. But I actually respect the way DD handles it, since curative items are very heavy and you're forced to slow down for carrying them in your inventory. Having my walking and running animations slowed down is very annoying so I'm always very mindful of picking up items, and if I want to carry more I have to sacrifice a slot for the fighter augment. Also, unlike other games that lock the player in a drinking animation, DD focuses on encounters with multiple enemies rather than 1-vs-1 combat, so good luck finding the right moment for that. All in all I think the way these games handle it is elegant, maybe there is room for improvement but you could look at the latest Zelda games for an example of how menu healing shouldn't be done.
Other things I agree with, like the same enemies spawning in the same locations. I should watch it again to see if my opinion has changed
>>
Watching the video again right now.
13:47
"You can farm as many of these [curative items] as you like. They don't weight much and you can buy unlimited quantities of them from a shop"
>shows his item burden going up to very heavy
"They're not even expensive"
>71,700G
>He's level 137 and has 2.5 million G
To be fair right before this part he shows his inventory and he has x50 potent greenwarish and he's still very light, but again he's level 137, he could me maxing out his carry weight with augments and upgraded gear.
Also he criticizes wakestones but admits they're so rare until the Everfall that he didn't even know the mechanic existed.
At 15:00 he claims this is not a game based on player skill, that normal mode has no level of challenge and that the only reason hard mode is hard is because everything in the game one shots you. Again, I want to be fair and maybe he doesn't realize that you're not meant to play hard mode with a level 1 character, but saying that normal mode has no level of challenge is enough for me to stop taking him seriously. And I agree with him on the damage numbers, which is a huge deal for sure, but I just think he's having a fight with the internet trolls he mentioned in the video, who told him to git gud, rather than actually criticize the game for what it is. Yeah it's not a brutally punishing game, it was never meant to be and it wasn't advertised with stuff like "prepare to die" like Namco loves to do. He shows clips for Dark Souls 2 whenever he mentions brutal challenges which also makes me question other things about his takes (I liked DS2, but that was difficult in a cheap way)

hey I'm here to spam my game yet once again! no goblins this time, just skelebros and a wraith
>https://files.catbox.moe/4tp2ua.webm
as a fighter main I never liked fighting ghosts in DD, so instead I've made a wraith that casts spells of fire and darkness, attacks with an spectral sword (ice damage) and teleports around a lot to fuck around with (You)
>>
>>
>>
>>2259149
bretty good. like how the skellington with the axe drops their weapon after their swing, but could probably make it smoother and not so "cartoonish after-effect"? unless thats your intention
I will say the constant teleporting could be very annoying. like just stand around and wait for them to appear next to you or you have to chase them down. Also im not sure if you're aware, but if skeletons dont rattle every hit and when their bones explode on death, then its a terrible game. i dont make the rules.
i still want my female model

>>2259902
thanks for the feedback anon! the wraith is design to be a bit annoying, but not too much. Right now it can be a hard enemy specially if there are 2 of them together or if paired with other enemies like skeletons or zombies that take the attention away from it. On a 1v1, it's not too hard and mostly about waiting for a window as you said, but since it doesn't have a lot of health I hope those cases aren't too boring.
oh and the skelies do rattle sometimes! but they probably should do it more often

I'm modding my DD2, and i saw Dogamma get recommended. I already have a long list of mods, like Bestiary, Dulahan, Durnehvier, all those UI mods, Simple DIfficulty tweaks, and others.
Should I install Dogamma anyway or is it "redundant" with the list I have now?

Gustave Doré is one of those artists that everyone praises as an inspiration, but specifically this one reminds me a lot of the Grigori fight. Not inspired by current events *cough*

It's already over? I forgot about it. Not that I had any hope mind you
On another note, DD2 is so dead that it's very easy to exploit pity hires to acquire rare items from pawn quests now, I just got a key of sagacity. Yet if you browse Xitter you will see lots of players enjoying the game, most of them from Japan, sharing screenshots of their hires and whatnot. So it really hurts that we never got crossplay/crossplatform as it would have really helped now that most players are done with it

The plus side is that it's delivering graphics fidelity of modded Skyrim and seems to run well. And the inspirations are pretty clear.
But I think the artstyle is somewhat schizophrenic and there's a lot of "use every particle effect in existence" for attacks. Also a lot of sliding to deliver hits. Many things that just turn me off.
And a game will never be Dogma to me unless it has a pawn system.
