Trainers aren't allowed in the dorms for a reason. Relationships between trainers and trainees probably don't openly happen unless the trainee graduates, the trainer is extremely young for his profession, or the trainee is one of the students who gets away with wearing a JK school uniform despite being at least in their 20s.

It's probably not actually that common in-universe, though. We get more of it upfront because players in career mode experience the setting from the perspective of a galge self-insert, but the vast majority of characterized trainers outside the game are depicted as being men and women probably somewhere in their 30s/40s, if not outright grandpas.
