For internal score, you get up to I think, 2 free PF ticket, gym cookie for some characters, a guaranteed 5* gym ticket, and gym voucher. Each season is 100 vouchers, which means 1 candy at minimum.

I was wondering what was up with my sudden shit luck with no internet connection from both mobile data and wifi while trying to challenge Blue but in the end it didn't even matter because Ashbro cleared it in the meanwhile.

I don't think whoever came up with this mode had a good idea, as the way you earn points actually disincentivizes playing the mode itself.
You earn points based on how much damage you did, and you do more damage if someone else already played the fight and set up debuffs and sync buffs for you, so to earn points in an optimal way you should wait until someone else wastes their tickets first. Worst case scenario, nobody will play because everyone will be waiting for someone else to play first.

What's a good score for day 1? Is beating every stage and getting to extra battles enough or are we jobbing?

2. You will be leaving a good bit of battling to do the last day

Many might be pike these, but others will cuck you with costant defense drops, status enhancers and eventul post sync 4 bar attacks. Teammates that offer bonus immunity under certain WTZ are valuable enough, else you have to use cookies and lose damage multipliers on your attacks which is legit since you might not land a single attack after being afflicted with confusion or paralysis.

Which x1 ticket teams are you using for debuffs beside at least 1 type rebuffer when you can?
I think between reliable and more randomized but multiple debuffs users this ones should be the most common (outside of specialized defensive stats debuffers or those that are built in on dps pairs also ideally defensive drops are usually the priority).

Couple of us in my gym are running through the battles when they reset using 1 ticket on each and applying the most amount of debuffs/rebuffs/status to the opponents so the rest of the gym can clear up with dps units.

Some of us, or many of us, play this game for the characters and our favorites, without worrying about getting every meta 10/5.

As a veteran player, I just play for fun and to earn my daily gems so I can keep only my favorites. If we wanted something competitive or hardcore, we'd be playing Unite, the competitive TCG, or online battles.

That's why Mastersex has been losing steam in recent years, they want to please the whales and hardcore players, and all they're doing is scaring away new players or those looking for something more relaxed. I still remember the few daily battles and the easy ones there were years ago when Mastersex was at its peak.

This mode is pretty well-designed to cater to all types of players though. Even if you're very casual, if you have been playing for more than a couple months, you absolutely have a roster that can bare minimum mass-debuff stages. Even a completely new player can at least kick a battle off so that somebody stronger doesn't have to challenge without a cheer. And like any other ranking-based event, the bulk of the rewards have a pretty low threshold for obtaining (just having to clear the first 3 base circuits+some of Extra 1 in one week).
Assuming you're in an okay gym (at or around 20 players, hitting S and clearing event missions), the worst reward you will probably miss out on, that is realistically obtainable, is falling outside of the master 500 ranking range, which is 10 vouchers, 1000 gems, and a superawakening candy

Luckily, I'm in a league with a lot of whales, although some don't log in daily, but only a few. I think you can make the mode fun for everyone if it was like the Type conqueror events. The higher the difficulty is the higher you gain points but have less time to battle and the battle start like now (Brock Sandstorm, Sabrina physical/Special reduction...) and if you aim for low difficulty the HP stay the same (since its tied to everyone) but the NPC have less Def/Spe Def and you have more time but in the end you score less points.

The impression I get every time there's gym anything is people don't actually like playing this game. I don't understand how DeNA reached this conclusion to design this shit the way they did.

The game is too slow in general so you dont really want to try more than the bare minimum. At least Conqueror/High score event let you reset one battle pretty quickly but Gauntlet is really just : Select a battle - Create your team - Battle and a little reset animation every three clears.
Co-op suffer of the auto mode problem because the AI is too stupid to not see the kills (hello NC May using the TM in the first second) and that you have to click too many button just to search another battle. But judging by Pocket it's more Dena's signature than a Masters problem.

At least we don't have a crossover Gym x Academy yet.

This game stopped being casual friendly ages ago. Tower was content for whales that some people were in hard denial about because it gave gems. The problem is the rest of the game suffers for it too. Things that a casual player can enjoy like story is irredeemably low effort dogshit now. So if they hate ALL challenge content all that's left is academy, a mode that is extremely unfun and tedious with bad writing and still manages to not be newbie friendly since none of these units are good enough to help you with the challenge content. Literally every time the producer hypes up for months a mode they've been working on all year it ends up being whale shit.
