what's the best strategy for the battle palace? I know the nature of a Pokémon influence how they behave in battle, but I don't know if it's worth to just breed a few pokémons just for this facility.
>>

>everyone I've mixed records with in Emerald has way higher Battle Frontier records than I do because this is a new save where I don't have it complete yet
>get motivated to try and get good streaks
>lost before the third round in the Battle Factory with swapping every single round to get better initial drafts
Man I should never have reset my game.
>>
>>58935501
what do you settle for in emerald as far as breeding goes? 3x25 ivs + 30+ in relevant IVs?
>>58935541
I'm replaying ruby fr and emerald to build a forever save in emerald from scratch. I'm currently rng manipping in fr to then bring mons over to emerald. You should just work on your emerald save and make it good again
>>
>>58935594
I'm working on something at a snail's pace in my copy of FireRed, so that's sort of my "forever save"/main game I'm currently playing. Haven't been putting too much effort into it because of health issues + getting stretched in other directions constantly.

Teachy TV is used in FRLG for RNG Manipulation. Basically the game's frames run 330 times faster while the teachy tv is open and you can use this to hit shiny frames that will take you hours and hours to hit.

I remember loving watching the Teachy TV scenes while I was a kid but I already knew how to play. Still I always wondered what route was the dude in when he was displaying the tutorials. Too bad they don't let you meet him in the story.
>>
>>58936742
Teachy TV was fucking weird. It was honestly a genius mechanic in theory because it allowed for optional tutorials for those who really needed them (and made sense in-universe), yet GF still made you sit through Oak's explanations during the first rival battle and the Viridian old man's shitty catching tutorial for some fucking reason... and then it never came back, and we were to sit through mandatory tutorials again for generations to come. Truly mind-boggling.
>>
>>58936742
I don't even remember it, like, at all, lol. But it's also been YEARS since I touched LG.
>>58936914
Regardless, I agree with THIS. Please, more optional tutorials, and let those that either already know what they're getting into or prefer to learn new mechanics on their own figure it out. Stop with the mandatory spoonfeeding.

We're closing in on the supposed announcement of FRLG getting a re-release in some form... whaddya guys thinking? Will they just be a "cleaned up" port with some added functionality, an actual remake that maybe resembles BDSP's art style, or something else?

If your physical attackers are adamant you should be fine since they will always have a good chance to attack. You will need a quiet special attacker since they're the only +spatk nature with >50% to attack at all health levels

Any advice for getting into frlg rng? I tried following blissey's guide a while ago and couldn't quite get the hand out of the pid/sid manip and I want to try again now that the switch version is coming out

>Any advice for getting into frlg rng? I tried following blissey's guide a while ago and couldn't quite get the hand out of the pid/sid manip
So yeah, this is the most cancerous part of RNG Manipping in Fire red. Getting your TID and PID down takes a long time but after that the game allows you to do so much stuff with the Teachy TV and ACE to get basically perfect IV shinies. I admit that I kinda cheated to discover my SID after the new game. I duped my save with a flashcart reader using GBA Operator and discovered my SID using PokéHex. If I hadn't done this it would have taken days imo for me to discover it. Now I got better at rng manipping and honestly with the Teachy TV which is a 3 perfect frame input against the 2 perfect frame input for the SID discover so I think I can nail it down without using this method. My advice for you is to just keep practicing and doing it even if it seems hopeless. You will get it sooner or later. Personally I started with Ruby since it's the easier game to RNG Manip just to understand how it works.
>I want to try again now that the switch version is coming out
I don't know if it will be the same with the switch ports. I'm fairly sure the Seeds will change in that version so it will take some time for people to reverse engineer the games to allow for tools to be calibrated for this version. Or maybe it will be the same idk.

Thinking back inside do this but I got stuck on trying to get a shiny starter. Would you recommend just skipping that and getting to the more consistent teacher TV stuff?

Potentially if it's a real port but if they're just running it on emu it should be the same I think

To get into rng manipulation you have to discover your SID and PID in someway. Getting a shiny starter is the way to do it unless you just extract the SID with PokéHex.

I can give you the gist of it. You need 2 instances of Eon Timer open and this website: https://lincoln-lm.github.io/ten-lines/.
>Go into the Searcher section and pick your game, insert Trainer ID and Secret ID
>Pick your Method (Static 1 /Gifts for gifted mons, Wild 1 Location for wild mons with sweet scent etc)
>Pick the Pokémon, Shininess (Star/Square, it won't matter in this game since there's no Square shinies but this will give you more results). Nature, Gender, IV Range (don't expect to find a 4/5/6 x31 Natured Shiny with your set SID/PID so settle for something like 2x31 and 3x25 natured)
>Click submit and pick one of the Seeds, click Initial Seed
>In the initial Seed section check the Teachy TV Mode and a list of seeds + settings will appear
>Make sure you match your in game settings with the specific Seed, you will see that there are multiple settings for a given seed, I usually pick one with "Held: None" since I don't know how the other work
>After you chose the seed, open 2 instances of Eon Timer (I'll call it ET#1 and ET#2)
>Go into the Custom Tab of ET#2 and add 2 countdowns
>In he first countdown you want to input the Seed Time in ms (40-60k ms) in ms unit, this is to hit your Seed when you press Start/A on the Starting screen
>In the second countdown you want to insert the "Final A Press Frame" value in Advances, this is your last input, you press A when it counts down to trigger Sweet Scent (or get the gift from the NPC, trigger the snorlax encounter after the Pokéflute, just make sure you hit the button on the last dialog box before you receive it)
>On ET#2 you want to create a custom countdown and insert the Teachy TV Advances under advances. This is how much time you need to spend with the Teachy TV open. You want to open the Teachy TV and start this counter at the same time and close the teachy tv when the counter finished, all of this WHILE the first Eon Timer is counting down to the Final A press Frame.
>>
>>58943279
... cont
so ET#1 is for hitting the Seed. For hitting your seed you want to check on the calibration setting of your seed and see what voice is under the "A button" section. You have to press that button (A/Start/L=A ) and hold it till you see your Load game screen, you have to hold it or otherwise it fucks up your frames. The Held Button option is another thing entirely which specifies some key buttons to press while the game is still booting up, I never tried it and I always avoid it to save me a headache.
After you do this you just calibrate, you have to hit 3 perfect frames: your Seed, your Teachy TV and your Final A press Frame to get your shiny. Hopefully I was clear enough.
>>
>>58943279
I notice that I messed up the names. ET#1 is the Eon Timer with your Seed and Final Press s(2 countdowns) and ET#2 is the one for Teachy TV. Of course your Teachy TV countdown can't be higher than your Final A Press countdown or it will be impossible to get your shiny of course.

Haven't played it all the way through but my go-to emerald QoL hack is Revelation which I really enjoyed and the same guy made a FRLG version called Throwback. No major changes like phys/special split, although there is an option to add it in. No fairy types obviously, just a long list of QoL changes. These hacks are how I play my gen 3 games now, would recommend
>>
>>58943279
Just for completion. Yeah, you can actually get 5x31 IVs natured shiny Pokémons. This just comes down to finding a seed+frame for a normal Pokémon that matches your requirements and then changing your SID with Pokéhex or Arbitrary Code Execution to generate a new PID for that pokémon forcing it to be shiny (and totally legal).

>2-frame pokemon animations
Fun fact: Spinda only have 1 frame
>random phone calls
I agree with this, and they even doubled down this and added a secondary effect to Lightning Rod that makes you receive calls more often

>Do a playthrough of GoD once every few years
>Have done them all with different Eeveelutions
>Only thing left to do is an unevolved Eevee run or a non Eevee run (aka perma box it)
Any anons able to recommend which one is morefun?I was going to play it last year for its 20th Anniversary but got distracted with other games.
>>58947406
Probably never, but I would love it if they’d just remove the event tag from the Mount Battle and National ribbons so those Pokemon could be traded on Home.

>>
>>58947535
>has anyone beaten the rereleases yet to see about tickets / event islands in postgame
They were announced, but the release date is the 27th. You can buy them and preload them, but they won't be playable until then.

Apparently one Italian guy did get his codes early and LG worked for him (but not FR). Phone recording of a Switch 2 so it seems legit. Dunno how far he’s gotten though, and the events might be locked behind a day 1 patch or something.

I thought digital was supposed to prevent that sort of thing? By requiring a game to call to a server to download it, that's supposed to cut back on street dates being broken/games being dumped before it even launches, or so I've heard people argue...

Volbeat's my Baton Passer, he can't leave. Tail Glow only raises two special atk. stages in this game instead of three so I kinda wish I'd picked Girafarig (it gets calm mind and agility). But I've never used Volbeat before, which is neat.
