So why is this a bad thing? Truly as a League player this is effectively what every MOBA does. Splitting moveset means they can create more playstyles on separate Mons instead of having 1 take up 2, no?
I guess because Unite is much simpler? But like again League can afford complexity because the games are 40+ minutes, hell even Wild Rift games are upwards of 20+.
Unite only last exactly 10 minutes
Genuinely asking for an explanation

After so many matches of Vaporeons and Eldegosses who take Flip Turn and Leaf Tornado assuming the other one is gonna take their healing moves (in fact I literally just had both do it in the same match right now) or watching my teammate pick Scizor/Scyther into a comp that was made for the other I'm all for this honestly.
I don't think it's a good decision in a vacuum, but they're correct in stating that the playerbase we have is too fucking dumb to be given that power when they don't even have the critical thinking to tell them "hmm maybe I shouldn't pick a 4th attacker into Mimikyu"

>After so many matches of Vaporeons and Eldegosses who take Flip Turn and Leaf Tornado assuming the other one is gonna take their healing moves
You can basically tell who doesn't play support when they say "you can look at what your enemies are playing in draft phase and pick around that".
>>
>>58944113
support is my most played role and I say this, in fact it's literally the most important role to do so with - if you see an incredibly CC heavy team and don't pick one of the unstoppable granting supports or worse pick Blissey and then go eggs you're a psychopath

The game was already deteriorating before then.
You should have played before the 2nd year anniversary when they started introducing paid legendary pokemon.
At this point I've had more worse times than good in this game

>Team gets Regieleki

What's the point??? Just make quick use of it? I guess at least we got the other regi afterwards, but I'm pretty sure we could've scored with how hard we were winning teamfights.
>>
>>58949308
Kind of a gray area
Sometimes Eleki is just a distraction, anyone who goes to contest it won't be at certain objectives/teamfights which is to your advantage. Either way as long as they don't get it.
Or it could be that your teammates are dumbasses
>>
>>
>>
>>58949308
I typically never push Eleki without a good reason, because if the push fails what happens is
>enemy team gets comeback exp from everyone they kill
>enemy team gets extra exp from defeating eleki
>your team probably burnt all their unites on nothing
and there are so many little things that can cause a push to fail - in most scenarios it's better to just play it safe and use the distraction to try and score on the other goal, get the other regis, steal enemy side farm or make sure your side is cleared for the next fight
that said it pisses me the hell off the average player will always want eleki over the other regis but the moment we have a tier 3 available and the enemy is forced to contest it, they suddenly decide "hmm no I don't want to go for eleki actually" and it gets completely fucking wasted

I've started letting the matchmaking parameters shit go through because it unironically gives better teammates. I'll take orange ping if it means not 1v9'ing every match
Also god damn not a single match where my team is first pick any more
>>

I had 4 of the enemy team stunlocked as Blastoise and somehow my team still manages to all die to one enemy without any of them using their Unite
I'm not reaching Legend this season it's impossible to carry when the matchmaking deems it so

Ok, since we got confirmation of two new mons every month throughout the year. What are these mons going to be?
Zapdos and the other birds take care of feb and march. So that leaves 18 new mons
They consider megas to be new mons tho... But i guess if they were to release Meganium or Ampharos, for instance, it would already have it's mega
Considering the next one is leaked to be a starter, the aniversary legendary pokemon and the halloween themed mon. How does the year look like?
>>
>>58952772
My two cents are:
The first starter is Meganium, and Skeledirge is coming as well (they complete a set with Empoleon)
Pessimistic me says Mega Blastoise and Mega Venusaur take two spots too. Also Mega Gengar and Mega Gardevoir
The halloween mon is Froslass
Anniversary legend is Arceus or Lugia
Jolteon and Flareon are coming this year too
They may do Croagunk from Pokken
They have to do a Hisuian mon and my money is on Arcanine. I am going to say Kleavor too as a separate license (Scyther and Scizor are going to get separated too)
Clodsire, from the newest gen
Hatterenne, for coomers (also anime relevant)
Some Porygon license, maybe two (one that ends at 2 and another at Z)
Mega Dragonite
Hydrapple (as a Gen 9 dlc rep, maybe Archaludon)
That's no Gen 5 so that might work. Although I might have put in too many poison types

they are doing a bad job then
everything is so rank heavy and rank dependent
match making are based on win% which is triggering.
alot of the casual games if you loose it goes to your record and win% degration.
if they really want to cater to kidz casual
make a seperate casual rank that has
no percentage or win lose if you loose
you get to farm tickets etc forever
the other rank are for esports faggots
this real rank will have a requirement to join.
this is the real reason why people are scared of rank
the loose streak and seeing you have a win percentage that decrease
remove those and just keep the score for each mon
or this is the practical solution
making rank checkpoints.
if you make it to Ultra class 1 you remain in class 1 even if you loose streak.
for Masters
the reward system is the check point
100
250
etc.
it will stop at 500
so if you make it to 850 but got sent to the japanese lobby lag and trigger a loose streak the check point will be at 500
chinks are stupid subhumans that cant think of this
they will always choose the scummy route of scamming us.

>>
>>
>>

Nevermind Urshifu got added 2 and a half year from it's debut, right after the release of gen 9. Ogerpon is 2 years and 5 months old, but there's still time.
However you'd have to make it's mask change part of the moveset, and we've seen they don't want to make too complicated mons

I think the point still stands, even with dual types included they still haven't even covered half the types we have available. And if you wanted to be annoying, you could technically count Psyduck as "psychic" given its whole psychic shtick, literally being forced to take at least one psychic move, or Meganium's mega being part fairy if they do choose to include it later down the line. It's a general vibes thing ontop of just the literal lack of types.
Just feels like a role they're scared to expand upon meaningfully, but I wouldn't blame them too much after the disaster that was Sableye. Real shame though because it's so easy to come up with a whole bunch of interesting support concepts for each type that don't take much thought to come up with.
>>
>>
>>
>>58956995
It really feels like all the good players left when license points became a thing, so now you're just left with the dice roll of "Which team has more retards this time?"
It was the last match that finished it for me, we were winning basically the whole match, then my team decided to rip Kyogre while 3 of the enemy were still alive, 'lo and behold, the Ceruledge ulted everyone and stole it, costing us the win.
This was after slowly climbing all season to over 900, the game just isn't fun anymore. Every new pokemon has some kind of stun, they refuse to buff the healing of the first goals to compensate for the ridiculous power creep since launch, low tick rate still causes deaths because healing got delayed, and with license points being a thing as old players leave matches will be even worse as your teammates will only have <16 pokemon to choose from.
>>
>>58957010
Also, forgot to add, I KNOW that the game is bleeding players, because last season over 10000 players got to legend but this season reaching legend puts you in the top 5000. There just isn't as many people playing the game anymore.
>>
>>58957010
for me it's every time we have first pick and Blastoise or Zard Y aren't unbanned, the top person will pass the option for some of the most stupid shit you've ever seen like a scope lens espeon or potion owl
and if you are that top person then the enemy team will scientifically create the perfect comp to counter you in a 4v1 while your team dies to a single meowth without using any of their unites seriously slowbro how fucking hard is it to press your unite button I will never let that go
>>
>>
>>
>>58956983
I went from 1090 to 750 lol. But it doesn't even matter, there's no "times reached legend" in your profile. Just wait 2 days until the new season. The matchmaking is always better then since there's more players queueing.
>>
Oh here's a fun thing people do now
>Clear jungle
>Go help a lane
>Other lane gets mad that you didn't help them
Doesn't matter which lane you pick, it's always the wrong one in the eyes of the eternal shitter
>They steal the jungle while you're fighting
>Then go back to their lane, overextend, and die
>You end up underleveled
>Don't get your Unite when you should
>Enemy team has theirs
>They snowball hard
Only times I have ever won a match after this happens is through coin-flipping Kyogre.

>>
>>58957073
I think I rantposted about this last thread but I had somebody AFK after I killed both top laners and jungler then went bot to save the bot laners being pressured (got another 2 kills) before returning to jungle for farm. That person had died 2 or 3 times by this point in the match and died yet again straight after because they randomly pushed into the enemy goal probably assuming I'd be an inting retard and waste time pushing with them against a Lapras on goal while my jungle starves. They stayed AFK for the entire rest of the match and despite this we were still shitting on the enemy team 4v5, only for them to come back at 1:45 (because we near wiped the enemy team) just to rip Kyogre at which point the enemy sniped it and we lost. We literally were better off without them being on the team.
You can do everything and they'll still find a way to blame you while throwing.
>>
>>58957096
When people started saying the game was dying a year ago when they upped the cost of everything, I dismissed it as paranoia.
When people started saying the game was dying after the release of License points, I figured "Yeah, that's pretty bad, but the game will survive"
I no longer think the game will survive, next tournament will be the last one, with EoS about a year after.
>>
>>58957115
lowkey I blame Kyogre more than the license points - Groudon season was the healthiest the game has been in a LONG time (arguably the healthiest it's ever been if not for shitty balance but that's a never-ending problem) then we jumped straight into the most cancerous final objective we've ever had and the complete shift in match quality was instantly noticable
also I swear this game truman shows me because no matter what lane I'm in, whether I rotate or not, regardless of if I'm alone or with the team I ALWAYS end up in eleki's lane when the regis start to spawn
>>
>>58956651
Because the types with the most Support moves in the main game are Fairy/Normal/Grass/Water, every Supportmon that is any of those types will just be Attackers in the Support Role like Latias and Psyduck or Speedsters like Sableye or Defenders like Wigglytuff
That is why so many people say Sylveon should've been a Support because of Fairy types commonly being the Supporters of the main game or why so many thought Vaporeon will be support because since Sylveon was already an attacker and Umbreon was already a Defender, Vaporeon was the last Eeveelution who will fit Support but ended up as another Defender overlapping with Umbreon while having Clefable's Moonlight making look like it was supposed to be a Support but got changed to Defender at the last minute
Most people think of Healers and Shielders when they think of Supports which usually translate into the Support types from the main game, that is why no one likes Sableye because it's not really doing anything to Support and everything it does Wigglytuff does better, this is the reason why people say Latias isn't a Support at all and the reason why Mr. Mime had Guard Swap removed for Power Swap for it to feel more like a Supporter
Why have a Squishy CC Backcapper when you can have a Tanky CC Bot as a lane partner?
Can you come up for a Supporter who is Electric/Rock/Ground/Ice/Steel/Fire/Bug/Flying/Poison that isn't just another role with a Orange Background?
I can see Medicham being the Fighting type Support, but Timi will obviously make it a All-Rounder instead
>>
>>
>>58957369
>Can you come up for a Supporter who is Electric/Rock/Ground/Ice/Steel/Fire/Bug/Flying/Poison that isn't just another role with a Orange Background?
Pretty easily. Fire is the most obvious considering the Burn status in the games, and the whole "burns reduce Attack stat" thing is already technically in the game just with Scald instead of an actual Fire type. Making a support that focuses on debuffing physical attackers to protect their team would be a piece of cake, but you could also take the smokescreen approach of creating clouds that obstruct the opponent's vision protecting your teammates, then using something like Eruption to trigger an explosion on anyone inside the gas/with vision debuff to stun them (Poison would also be able to do this with the same move or smog/poison gas etc.).
Poison debuffing is an incredibly common concept in any game and is used in other MOBAs so I shouldn't have to explain that, but you could also do something like a Salazzle which commands Salandits as familiars to function similarly to Alcremie's Decorate, taking hits or adding extra "autos" for more damage.
Poison, Bug and Electric all have Web moves that could be taken advantage of as map snares giving more than just Mime as a stage control option but Electric also has a lot of "field" options like Electric Terrain, Magnetic Flux or Magnet Rise which could create AoEs that apply positive effects. If you wanna be really fucked up, Electrify could make it so a teammate's next hit causes a paralyzing stun to the enemy team and do some stupid bull shit like an electrified Ceruledge teleporting into the enemy team and stunning them for free.
The moth/butterfly bugs could use all the powder options in various ways but there's also a lot of Bug type moves that apply stat debuffs in the main games, Struggle Bug and Skitter Smack could be the Special equivalent of a burnmon and both doing the same general thing means you even have a pre/evo version of the same move. (1/4)
>>
>>58957602
Pollen Puff is a Bug type move already used in the games for healing, and Vespiquen has its Orders (mainly Heal Order) to work with too I also wanna say a Wormadam that cloaks its teammates in different types of shields but desu I think it's way funnier for an All-Rounder Wormadam that changes roles depending on which lane it went to dictating its evolution.
Ice has Aurora Veil, really simple one there - Snow Warning Aurora Veil Vanilluxe would be very funny and give a new Gen 5 rep.
There's also a notable lack of any "denial" support, which is to say one that could shroud their teammate in invincibility to protect them from a big hit, easy job for Fighting types with an abstract use of Detect/Protect or Mat Block on Throh, but you could also go the option of giving them counter-like moves to deny enemy divers/frontliners with Revenge/Reversal or just simply give one Coaching. Was gonna mention Wide Guard for Fighting too before learning it's apparently Rock type, so that covers Rock, but admittedly that and all of the others options I can come up with are generally suited to Defender (or have a secondary type that is the main point of choosing them). I'd fuck with a sentry Probopass though as another Scout/Ward mon.
Ground has Dugtrio/Sandslash/Excadrill which could all make tunnels that allow allies to hop a short distance and allowing otherwise immobile teammates to hop through walls for safety or a chase, or alternatively place trap holes that could kidnap a careless enemy pulling them into the open. Shore Up is also a healing move option, Moonlight already proves that a move doesn't need to target allies in the main games to heal allies in Unite since move interpretations aren't literal in this game (Did you know Power-Up Punch doesn't power up Lucario at all? It's a good thing it doesn't but it's literally in the name lol).
>>
>>58957607
Flying has so many options. Tailwind that speeds up the team, Feather Dance making enemy autos miss or something, oh shit this is just tornado goss oh fuck oh s-
Steel has a lot of cool options that admittedly share the common support types (go my Klefki) but I also can see the vision with Galarian Stunfisk as a stealth trap support that sets up teammates for kills similarly to Sableye.
As for the already used but less common types, I remember back when Nickit/Thievul was "leaked" and there were a lot of theories about it being a support mon that would steal enemy battle items, wish we could have gotten that instead of Meowth's bullshit and Water could easily have an Aqua Ring that it gives to an Ally for passive healing over time allowing your team to split up or take off-angles while still receiving some mild healing, could also do a Luna Snow flake type mechanic where your secondary move is say Water Pulse and any healing you give to nearby teammates gives a small percentage of that healing to your applied target (adding on to the base healing if they're in your pulse range). Clawitzer is also a strange off-healer since its focus on "pulse" type moves gives it access to Heal Pulse. Water has such a deep pool of moves that you can really take it any direction with any mon and I'm surprised Alomomola hasn't been added considering healing is its entire identity.
>>
>>58957612
Last thoughts, I don't think people complaining about non-healbot supports should really be taken into account considering the people who do so will just instalock an offensive role regardless of team comp any ways. Ff they think a third attacker who can't heal their team is a winning play then clearly we don't need a healer.
But even so, as said in the Shore-Up example moves don't have to be literal. You don't need a move to heal in the main games to make it a healing move in Unite, Power and Guard Swap sure don't, so the options are limitless with a little bit of creativity. I always found it insane that Trevenant's Pain Split, a move on a DEFENDER, doesn't defend allies by taking damage for them especially when Blissey's Unite already has that mechanic in its Unite so one of the many, many mons with Pain Split becomes a potential option for a backline healing Support - just tether an Ally to take damage for them and provide passive heals.
And while I'm at it I wanna complain about the fact that Chesnaught and Passimian also aren't in the game considering one is literally the epitome of a Defender and the other is the literal team based sportsball mon. This game always passes on the most obvious opportunities just to add the next most boring option you've ever seen that doesn't even really do anything new, if you're not gonna get crazy with the movesets then at least go for a wacky mon option or Pokemon that are the picture perfect candidates for certain roles or the game as a whole.
>>
not really related to the whole types argument but the fact that we're getting one moveset mons now means they can't even do "optional" healing supports like alcremie or mime lol they have to fully commit to one or the other which is just gonna make people bitch when one doesn't have healing

didn't notice because we were pressuring them the whole time in our match but they were never with anyone on the team all game and went the entire last 2 minutes without Uniting once
now my Vap is 17-2 instead of 18-1 how tragic

yeah, I guess I can kinda see the vision of using a quick dunk to get unite charge back or to use after a unite since hoopa can' t while transformed but it's not like they were using it for either option, just mediocre backcapping
also wow just fought a bubblebeam disable duck / play rough azu lane combo and that shit is fucked up you get combo'd by micro stuns and bursted before you can even react

Oh my fucking god bro the enemy has a secure move we just spam autos on the objective willy nilly but when I have the big fuck you unstoppable secure that's when we don't want to damage it and instead try to KO somebody who's already sniffing Kyogre's asshole jesus christ

If they truly keep the pace of two pokemon a month I don't give a shit you can't choose the moveset
Retards online are crying because they think they will have to pay for the second moveset. When in reality they are simply cutting development to release more stuff. Plus the game is mostly free, go complain about something that isn't free you faggot
>>
>>
>>

desu I have always found it a missed opportunity that they never split sets between similar pokemon or reused sets for new pokemon with different abilities/unites kinda like megas but implemented way better
nothing was stopping them from making gothitelle with gardevoir's kit, it's not like they were hard at work making new content considering how slow releases could be and the fact we still have been running Theia for nearly 4 years outside of that one weird Remoat in Ranked season
>>
>>58961750
>we still have been running Theia for nearly 4 years
Yeah, I thought the Weather Trio would each have their own maps, like a magma cavern for Groudon or the ocean floor for Kyogre, but apparently MOBA's don't work that way and Unite is the anomaly.
>>
>>58961737
The fact that it's a never-ever option in the first place is entirely timi's fault. Regardless, personally I'd want my favorite to not be a one-dimensional possible reskin of another pokemon, and instead have actual personality, effort and thought put into it
>>58961747
How are you satisfied with that? I mean, in the main games it's mostly known as an offensive thunder/hurricane spammer in rain, or a defensive paralysis spreader, they have plenty to work with, instead it's just a weird raichu reskin

>two movesets on one pokemon
>only have to make animations, statlines, abilities and unites for that one pokemon and each of its evo stages
>one moveset on two pokemon
>same amount of moves but now have to design an extra unite, implement a new ability, write out a new statline/progression and account for potential prevos
>also have to make more holowear (assuming everything gets at least one costume)

Finally... This endless suffering has ended. In a nick of time as well... This is one of the worst seasons I've ever experienced
>>
>>58962277
which makes it all the more baffling that releases do take this long lol, don't even have to go through the whole designing a hero thing since they're using an IP with already established characters (and since they're pokemon you don't even need to add in personalities or voicelines or what have you)
compare this game to the insane rate something like marvel rivals pumps out characters with a similar situation, it's wild

>even yeru almost didn't make it
this season truly was cursed

I gave up last night after I was finally hitting a good stride and reached 950 or so only for the inevitable
>The match has ended early because one or more players were unable to play.
What happened after that? Why, the same enemy duo running the same bully comp three matches in a row while my duos run double Speedster of course! If anyone here hasn't noticed, pay attention to how the matchmaking mysteriously starts getting extra lopsided whenever you queue up after a disconnect. One side is gonna get fucked and if it's you, GGs put the game down and have a nice nap. You've earned it.

>>58962347
Same! I got like around 940 a few days ago but then the shit hits the fan real hard that I had 13 losing streaks like it's unreal and ended up at around 480 smth smth. I do have wins after that but I also lose like at times win lose win lose I was going insane but I still continue Anyways, thanks man.Funny to mention that the final match, one of the guys at the enemy team is like I usually face against and he's such a bitch always targeting me first over everyone else
>>

>one of the guys at the enemy team is like I usually face against and he's such a bitch always targeting me first over everyone else
I've definitely got people like that, especially being in Europe servers so we have a much smaller pool of players. There's also those players who you know are competent and you see on the enemy team so regardless of outcome we give each other that "yup, this game's a bitch" good job at the end or we'll spin together if we see end up on the same lane.
Had a Snorlax last night just chill next to our base after we got shit on so I sat next to them like a couple of bouncers watching the bar fight below us - it's always reassuring to know there's some living breathing players above the age of 10 still playing.

Meowth is such a weird Pokemon in every match, it's like the epitome mon of "my team bad enemy team god"
Never seen a Meowth on my side do anything but when it's on the other team they're magically already done with jungle 10 seconds into the lane phase and already have killed both laners

You have to go into the Pokemon tab in menus and hit "switch style" lol

solo is so fucking boring I don't wanna have to do this shit for license points man but I need them so I can afford a new supporter and hot fire badger titties

I forgot they force an order on you cause I already had every license before the change
I wonder how many choices I'll get to make before before I run out, already decided I'm not gonna go for Meowth after wasting so many on Mega Gyarados that I can't even afford the kanto cat to begin with

>>

Tried out the solo mode, completed 1-17.
Kind of funny how it's easily doable with half of the "recommended combat power".
I'm a bit bummed by them blocking attackers for the stages where you are supposed to jungle though.

Oooh I'm already not liking the matchmaking this season. Three games in a row where it should literally be impossible to lose thrown in the most blatant ways while the same enemy jungle Meowth is exclusively ganking my lane and solo uniting me every time
I don't even know this person what did I do to them lol
>>
>>
>>58967610
I'm enjoying having Groudon back until I see a team comp that makes me think "ooh i wanna play (mon)" then fuck you it's the wrong moveset
so next time you make sure to go to battle prep to change it but oops the menu lagged and didn't register in time so you still have the wrong moves jesus fuck why
