Today's news bumped us off, but we're back after letting everything settle a bit.

Bump.
>>
Tonight Im starting VoltWhite 2 Redux EVless Challenge Mode Nuzlocke.
Lets see how it goes.
>>
I just best the first elite four member Shauntal. Fat Twat took out her Cofagrigus with Flamethrower, Daisy took out her Golurk with Surf, Monty took out her Chandelure with Earthquake and Leafy took out her Jellicent with Leaf Blade. To easy.
>>
I just beat the second elite four member Grimsley. Daisy took out Scrafty with a Fly then a Aerial Ace, Leafy took out Krookodile using Leaf Blade, Red took out Liepard with a Msgahorn and then took alot of damage from Bisharps Night Slash which only made one Reversal powerful enough to one shot Bisharp dead.
>>
I just beat the third elite four member Caitlin. Cleo took out Reuniclus with Shadow Ball, Leafy took out Musharna with X Scissor, Monty took out Sigyliph with Rock Slide and Red took out Gothitelle with Megahorn.
>>
I just beat the fourth elite four member Marshal. Fat Twat took out Throh with Flamethrower, Cleo took out Sawk with Shadow Ball, Fat Twat came back again to take out Conkeldurr with Flamethrower and finally Daisy used Fly when Mienshao used High Jump Kick which caused Mienshao to miss, take damage and then get hit with the Fly killing it.
>>
>>58981897
Sounds like you had a smooth run of the E4 itself. Just need to get past the hurdles that are N and Ghetsis.
>>
>>58981340
I lost to the first gym

What's the difference between a moon nuzlocke and an ultra moon nuzlocke?
>>
>>58983822
a moon nuzlocke is where you nuzlocke Pokémon moon version.

an ultra moon nuzlocke is where you nuzlocke Pokémon ultra moon version.
>>
>>58983881
how could you do this to me gator
>>
>>58983921
hey, I could have just said "ultra"

Today has been exhausting.

Alright so today I beat the elite four as usual which I've already typed out how I beat them. Then i had to plan how to beat both N and Ghetsis which I knew was gonna be tough and I had to battle them two times in a row, I spent all night planning.

First I caught the Reshiram in Ns Castle and then I finally took on the King of Team Plasma N himself. First his Zekrom set up Light Screen but Monty managed to take his legendary out with a few Earthquakes, then came his Klinklang in which I had Fat Twat use Flamethrower, actually it turned out to be an Illusion done by Zoroark who tricked me. Not to worry because Fat Twat took out Zoroark with Arm Thrust. Then came Carracosta, Leafy used Leaf Blade but Carracosta survived due to Sturdy and used Stone Edge but Leafy managed to dodge and land one more Leaf Blade to kill Carracosta for good. Next came his actual Klinklang which fell to Fat Twats Flamethrower, then Monty took out his Archeops with Metal Claw and finally Fat Twat took out Ns last friend, his Vanilluxe with Flamethrower ending the battle.

After that battle was over then it was time for the battle against the leader of the Seven Sages Ghetsis and the entire fucking battle stressed me out and I did not have fun. First Monty struggled but eventually took out his Cofagrigus with multiple Earthquakes, next was dealing with his ace Hydreigon which was a fucking nuisance because it knows Surf and non of my pokemon are effective against it, it took forever and lots of healing but Fat Twat finally killed it with Arm Thrust, next came his Bouffalant which I had Monty use Earthquake to kill it, then Leafy one shotted Seismitoed with one Leaf Blade, afterwards Monty used Rock Slide to deal with Eelektross which was difficult and then finally Fat Twat used its Arm Thrust to take out the Bisharp and the battle was finally over. It was hard but it was satisfying atleast, I felt relief.

The nuzlocke is not over. I'm still not the champion.
>>
>>58984223
Okay yesterday these battles against the elite four and N and Ghetsis was supposed to happen but I went out and I was tired when I got home. I ended up doing it all throughout the night and it's kept me up all night.

Irrelevant but I really think it's stupid and annoying that N heals your pokemon after you beat him because if your pokemon died, per the rules of the nuzlocke, they should stay dead and if the game is gonna have N revive a dead pokemon, then make it so the player can save before the Ghetsis fight and leave, go to the pokemon center and put the dead pokemon in the grave. It's so fucking annoying that the game does not give you the chance to save before the Ghetsis fight and if N is gonna fully revive your team afterwards, let the go to the pokemon center first.

Take Barry in platinum for example, he heals your pokemon before you go into the distortion world but you are given the choice to save before that happens and even leave Mt Coronet entirely and go to the pokemon center.

And if the whole point is you battle Ghetsis directly after N, then why have N heal your pokemon? That never happens in-between elite four fights.
>>
>>58983822
The Ultra games are more difficult than the base Alola games, they make alterations to events and battles like what some of the Totem Pokemon are, Ultra Necrozma waiting to end your run if you don't prepare, and there's the Rainbow Rocket plot in the post game.

no idea how Excadrill can struggle against Cofagrigus. you can spam X-items and there's nothing he can do about it.
>>58984255
I agree for the most part. I had to spam Paralysis Heal on a healthy Pokémon just to kill it off, since it died against N during the Ghetsis fight just to waste turns and kill it again.
>>
>>58984418
I messed up the sentence structure in the second half of my post but it's late, I'm tired, and you guys know what I mean.
>>
Alright before I go to bed, I just want to say I think the new pokemon trailer looks good. I think it's based in the Sunda islands. Looking forward to nuzlocking it.

>>
>have to change my system clock so I can get an eligible encounter
Am I the only one that has always hated this shit? I vastly prefer either the game having no day/night cycle or a ingame day/night cycle, real time is kind of soulful but it’s so inconvenient
>>
>>58984255
I'm pretty sure that there's lone, single PC hidden in N's Castle? I just don't remember if it's available between N's and Ghetsis's fights.

Looking it up showed a guy on reddit beating it, on easy granted, but I would say it's possible, just very difficult.

today was an eventful day. I beat the PWT, went through Chargestone Cave, revisited places with Surf including the Castellia Sewers, evolved multiple Pokémon, and made it to Route 7. before I knew it, this team got STACKED. thankfully a move tutor in Black 2 can teach Scolipede Iron Defense, to undue my earlier blunder of evolving it at the wrong time and missing my chance to learn the move naturally. I just hope I have enough blue shards...

with a heavy heart, I regretfully inform you all of my dear Whimsicott's passing. while I originally avoided the ace trainer triple battle on route 7, I later forgot about it and accidentally encountered him afterwards when I was following the walkway. I was so scared of losing Gothorita to STAB Hyper Fang that I completely misplayed by using Charm on the Watchog. I should have Stun Powder'd the Swoobat after it used Calm Mind because the priority from Prankster ensured that I out-speed. then Herdier could have killed slowed Swoobat with the second Crunch, but I suspect that Gothorita would have died to STAB Hyper Fang. I always train Cottonee believing it has a niche as a crippler, but it's always gotten killed before I could evolve it (I wait until it learns Charm). I finally managed to evolve it only for it to get 1-shotted by a Calm Mind-boosted STAB Air Slash. I even have a blood sacrifice Purrloin I could have switched to. I really should stop playing when I'm not at 100%.

Update to my party.
Route 25 caught me off guard a couple times and I paid the price. A Rattata got a critical Hyper Fang against my Wartortle. And Slowpoke's confusion reeked havoc on my party. I actually had to sacrifice Rattata in order to save my whole run.

There are some people that count water sections as different areas. So for example they would catch a pokemon on route 10 and then fish for another one and use both.
Thoughts on that?
I think they are huge faggots.

I think i see the logic, like Inner and Outer Pinwheel Forest having different encounter tables, but multiple catches on the exact same route goes against the spirit of the Nuzlocke.
>>
I think Im going to make some changes on my VoltWhite2 Redux Challenge Mode run, since that game is very hard.
First, Im going to open all the eggs even if I already catched a pokemon on that route. This gives me 3 extra pokemon if Im not wrong.
And maybe, I wont count gift mons as encounters. I think rhis games has 5 giftmons, the starters of all gens. But 2 of them are in places without encounters, so this gives me 3 extra pokemon.
For a total of 6 pokemon, most of them in the early game.

>>
>>58994638
Definitely

What about in-game trades or gift pokemon counting for that area though?
>>
>>58996619
I think gifts count as an allowence if the area has grass and a gift but if an area has multiple gift options like celedon city you can only get 1

>>58958780
The first task after Brock was to clear the group of mandatory trainers on Route 3. I leveled up Knuckles, then fought the trainers one by one. I was successful, but now Knuckles was already at level 14, which meant it was sitting right at the level cap for Misty.

I leveled Knuckles, because with only one Pokémon, a lot of things that would ordinarily be manageable can end the run on the spot. But once Knuckles hit the cap, it was hard to find places to send him out until I beat Misty.

So the next step was to rebuild my team. I had three more encounter areas left before Cerulean City; Route 3, Route 4, and Mt. Moon.

I tackled Route 3 first and caught a Spearow. I named it Javelin.

Next was my Mt. Moon encounter, a Zubat, which I named Scree.

That left Route 4, which meant choosing between the Pokémon Center Magikarp and rolling the dice in the grass west of Cerulean. It might seem like a bad choice, but I went with Magikarp.

Since Gyarados is locked until after Lt. Surge under these caps, the grass encounter would normally be the obvious choice, but I wanted a relatively bulky Water resist for Cerulean Gym. So I bought the Magikarp and named it Flop.

I picked up a Rare Candy in Mt. Moon, alongside a useful TM in Mega Punch.

I then did some grinding on my new Pokémon. Flop was by far the most tedious to grind. I started out by switch-training it, but since Flop needed more EXP than Javelin and Scree combined, I had to change my strategy. I would exhaust Flop's Splash PP against Metapods in Viridian Forest, use Struggle against wild Pokémon, and heal up once Magikarp's health was low from recoil. That got all my Pokémon, including Flop, close to the level cap.
>>
>>58997554
There were two more trainers I had to beat to get to Cerulean City. The first was a Super Nerd guarding the fossils in Mt. Moon. Scree took down the Super Nerd's team with support from Javelin.

I took the Helix Fossil, of course, and then healed up in the Pokémon Center. Now the Jessie & James fight was the only thing separating me from Cerulean City. It went horribly wrong.

It started well enough. I opened with Scree again, and it Leech Life'd Jessie and James's Ekans to death having only lost half its health. Meowth was their next Pokémon, and their most dangerous one. I switched in Knuckles right into a Scratch from Meowth. No problem, I thought, Knuckles will use Low Kick next turn.

Next turn, Meowth hit Knuckles with Bite, and Knuckles missed its Low Kick. I selected Low Kick again only to watch the last turn repeat almost exactly — Knuckles once again missed its Low Kick and was hit with another Scratch. Now Knuckles was one hit away from death, and Meowth was still at full health.

My would-be Meowth counter had failed, but I knew I wouldn't be able to beat Blue in Cerulean City without Knuckles, so I decided to switch out rather than risk Knuckles' death. After Javelin used Growl to lower Meowth's Attack, and Peck to lower its HP, I sent out Scree, but it died to a critical hit Bite. I had no choice but to bring Knuckles back out, and this time it finally landed Low Kick.

Jessie and James sent out Koffing, and Knuckles used Leer to lower Koffing's Defense but was forced out after being poisoned by Smog. I switched in Javelin, who was only able to use Peck once before dying to a Tackle. Finally, my last healthy Pokémon, Flop, was able to KO Koffing with Struggle.

With Scree and Javelin dead, the fight EXP was spread between my living party members, resulting in Knuckles leveling up to level 15, putting him above the level cap for Misty. This meant that I was down to one Pokémon again.
>>
>>58997556
I used an Escape Rope to get out of Mt. Moon and boxed Knuckles. After healing, I made my way back through the cave. Luckily, Flop outspeeds even the fastest wild Zubat in Mt. Moon, so getting through it wasn’t too dangerous.

I emerged from Mt. Moon with Flop in hand, and once I hopped the ledge into Cerulean, there was no turning back. My first stop was to receive Bulbasaur, which I named Sprout. It ended up being the most important Pokémon for the next two battles.

I also grabbed the Rare Candy hidden behind the house in the northwest part of town, then stocked up on Potions and Repels at the Poké Mart.

Sprout was only level 10, so I trained it against wild Pokémon on Route 4 to level it up. Soon, both of my Pokémon were level 14, and I entered Cerulean Gym. Cerulean Gym has one Swimmer blocking the way to Misty, so I took her on first. She has only a Goldeen, but it's level 19 and knows Peck, which is super effective against Sprout.

I led with Sprout. Goldeen outsped and used Peck, taking over half of Sprout's HP, while Sprout answered with Leech Seed. On the next turn, Goldeen used Supersonic and missed, and Sprout landed Vine Whip for a big chunk. After that, I switched to Flop, who stalled long enough for Leech Seed and Struggle to finish the job.

Next was Misty, and with only two Pokémon, this was a fight I expected to lose.

I opened with Sprout again, and Misty opened with Staryu. I got lucky with Misty using an X Defend instead of Tackle on one of its turns, allowing Sprout to KO Staryu with Vine Whip with more than half of its HP remaining.

Misty sent out the powerful Starmie. Sprout used Growl twice, then Leech Seed, and then Vine Whip for the remainder of the fight. Starmie mostly just used Harden instead of attacking, handing me the win. I didn't even have to send out Flop.

Here’s the Misty fight:
https://files.catbox.moe/gz4ilu.mp4

Now Blue is next, and after that it’s Bill, the S.S. Anne, and Vermilion City.

With the level cap increasing by four, it was time for some more grinding. I leveled Flop to 18 and Knuckles to 17, then moved towards Nugget Bridge to initiate the third rival battle.

Knuckles led my team, and faced off against Blue's Spearow. Spearow knows Fury attack, and the threat of the rare critical 5-hit Fury Attack loomed large. Two Karate Chops neutralized the threat.

Blue's second Pokémon is a Sandshrew, a Ground-type, so I switched to Sprout. A Vine Whip left Sandshrew with a sliver of HP remaining, and a second Vine Whip finished the job.

Sprout stayed in against Rattata, who moved first and used Tail Whip. Sprout responded with a crit Vine Whip for a clean OHKO.

Last was Eevee, who isn't as tough as Blue's other Pokémon. I used the opportunity to spread the experience around, switching in Flop and finally Knuckles to finish with Karate Chop.

Next I fought the Nugget Bridge trainers, carefully choosing who to use so nobody would level up to 19 too early. By the time I beat the Rocket Grunt at the end of the bridge, Sprout and Knuckles were both at the cap. I also got a Nugget, which I sold.

Route 24 has a gift Pokémon, a Charmander, which I accepted. I named the Charmander Cinder. I leveled up Cinder to Level 17, then used a Repel with Cinder, who is now a Charmeleon, in the lead to manipulate my encounter. That made a wild Pidgey all but guaranteed, so I caught the Pidgey and named it Zephyr.

With the other Pokémon at the level cap already, Cinder and Zephyr fought their way through Route 25 to Bill's House, bringing both of them to the level cap in the process. Zephyr evolved into a Pidgeotto, meaning the majority of my team is now composed of middle evolutions.

Now all of my Pokémon are at the level cap again. I have to fight the Rocket Grunt in Cerulean City and then I'll be able to catch two new Pokémon on Routes 5 and 6.

I accidentally shut my computer down the other day while playing and lost a ton of progress. So, while I have the choice, I think I'm gonna switch over to my steam deck so that I can play wherever.

today's excursion has been a disaster. an Emolga 1-shotted my Lv. 38 Krokorok with critical hit Acrobatics (yes, at full health), who was a mere two levels away from evolving. I should have used Rare Candies to get to its fully evolved form to improve its bulk and survival odds. then a Garbador's Body Slam killed my Lv.37 Scolipede with a critical hit (I had Iron Defense x2 set up but crits bypass buffs). I also encountered a trainer's Darmanitan. it was scary but Stoutland had its DEF buffed from Scolipede's Iron Defense + Baton Pass, so it tanked Arm Hammer. I'll admit TM24 Thunderbolt is relevant but I'm not sure it's worth exploring this area as soon as you get Surf.

I'm not emotionally devastated, however. this image was just one of the first ones that appeared when I searched Hilda and I thought it was fitting lol
