I was born in ‘97 and don’t miss gen 1/2 all that much. I liked the atmosphere in some ways a bit more but going back on the 3ds and trying to play them is a slog. The PC system and lack of boxes in particular really threw me for a loop. I guess when you’re like 4 or 5 and it’s all you know it’s fine but with all the quality of life improvements since gen 3 it makes it hard to go back. I still don’t understand why they didn’t add the day/night cycle in hgss all the way through, they just added a filter that makes it look like it’s cloudy instead.

No it’s not, I’m mid 30s and I haven’t even beat Erika yet. Haven’t done any grinding at all even, just battled every trainer I come across once and even went out of my way to put most of my high level pokemon in the pc to evolve low level mons along the way. My Raichu would be that Raichu’s level if I didn’t put it on the sidelines almost constantly.
