Pombon = Pomeranian + Bonfire, early humans are often pictured gathering together next to a fire, dogs began their relationships with humans by sticking close to us for easy access to food, over time dogs became tamer and friendlier towards us, hence Pombon's friendly and happy go lucky nature. Line will probably be Caveman themed.
Gecqua = Gecko + Aqua, not a lot to go off of on the name but the water drop on its forehead resembles a Bindi, it's also mentioned as intelligent. Pretty much guaranteed to be a Hindu coded Water/Psychic lizard.
Browt = Brow + Sprout, I honestly have no idea except that it won't be able to fly, I could see it becoming an archaic bird that bears a strong resemblance to its theropod ancestors mixed with the theme of a seed growing into plant.
What do you think?

Maybe they'll lean into the Mythological / Spiritual side of the country's culture?
Gecqua's bindi being its "third eye" could lead it to take on the role of a spirit medium or fortune teller?
Pombon could reference how in some myths dogs could see and scare off bad spirits. Not to mention iconic canines like the Cerberus and Anubis have ties to the underworld. So perhaps it'll turn into some kind of a temple guardian?
As for Browt I'm not too sure. If it becomes a poison type then it could reference the connection between medicine and spirituality. If it becomes a fighting type then it could reference the connection between martial arts and spirituality. Maybe it'll turn into a fighter monk or temple doctor?

I don't know much about South East Asian culture but I'd like to guess that maybe the starters will have a theme being tied to holiday traditions?
Pombon could be a reference to certain bonfire festivals, cooking, and maybe fireworks
Gecqua gives me the feeling that it will turn into a dancer with a vibrant outfit (know that geckos can change colors)
Browt could become a glutton to reference major feasts or since it's a bird it could also reference singing and music.

Fairy tale themed
>Browt gets themed after Jack and the Beanstalk. Becomes a giant ogre like chicken with big beanstalk brows and shoots gold beans resembling gold eggs
>Pombon gets themed after Red Riding Hood. Becomes a wolf with a red fire hood and an axe tail
>Gecqua becomes a dragon with princess elements. Though cannot think of a specific fairy tale with a dragon despite the stereotype

There’s St. George and the dragon, can’t think of any others off the top of my head so made that’s the one that originated the trope
