DPS units should EITHER max themselves out instantly as a passive but have lower ceilings or be able to power themselves up but require grid investment + using their trainer move twice OR not be able to max out their offensive stats on their own but be completely busted at max stats.

When you do the stage at the same time your points are all added together. So a boss isn't just worth 200k points it's worth whatever their health is at the time you fight them.

What this means is that you can stack people onto one boss where the type is strong like water and put the minimal focus on bad types like fighting. Instead of spending 1 ticket preping the stages and then one person clearing it you have 1 person prep the stage. Then you have every single person in the gym start the fight at the same time and they all benefit from the prep and they contribute full points.

While normal gyms are earning 200k per stage they can earn 4 million points per stage. So they end up having a 10 million point lead while only being in C9 while the gyms playing properly are all in C23/24

Once you are in you can stay in the stages forever as long as the app doesnt close so the only coordination you need is people not accepting the final score until they know everyone has gotten in. I have no idea how good Elio is but he's your only Rock support, so you have no choice but to use him (unless you pull 3 copies of Brock in the gym ticket scout, but even then Elio might be better). I don't know how good Selene is either but I've seen her in a lot of teams. SS Diantha is a must, imo.

For Water, I'd say SS Blue but yours is only at 2/5, not sure how useful he'll be (unless you can candy him). You have SS Lysandre, SS Grimsley, Kris, Archie and May (hopefully with her exclusive Tower cookie passive). Anons have already discussed clearing the Water stage with them in previous threads.

On a side note, do people really struggle that much to get resources to bring units to 6*EX these days? I'm drowning in 5* powerups now.

I don't get what side you're on. So you want the cheaters to just win as is? I don't think they should be banned for a mistake DeNA made but at least recalculate the score to as if the exploit didn't exist. It shouldn't be hard. DeNA should know how many rounds and gym leaders they cleared and how many points each fight gives.

Though in general I would rather they just remove any rewards that aren't cosmetic from the rankings and just increase the participation threshold to 2 million points putting what would have been from high rankings in there.

Points are a bit weird. In extra round 3, a solo clear rewards 150000.
Two attempts should get the same when you add the points, but it's actually 150001, doesn't matter if 4 or 6 tickets are used.

Its the fact that its such a simple bug that anyone in any gym could have simply done and not even realized it, because literally all it takes is for someone to go into a gym fight as someone else is also fighting it. 2 players in your gym could have done the same thing and not even noticed, which would cause your gym to get penalized if they bothered to go over EVERYONES scores, rather than the people at the top of the ranking.

But then on the other hand, its the fact that literally all Dena needed to do was not let a playing initiate a fight if someone is literally in the middle of their fight. INSTEAD. IN-FUCKING-STEAD, Dena puts a pathetically pointless warning of "DUH ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO FIGHT THIS BOSS WHILE SOMEONE ELSE IS FIGHTING IT??? OKAY GO AHEAD!".

Im not picking either side, Dena deserves as much backlash as the groups who abused the bug. Groups who have almost triple, quadruple the score then they would should be voided out, and Dena should compensate just about everyone involved for even letting people go into a fight thats already in-progress by someone else, and the fact that they were told about this after the 1st season and completely did not make any moves in the 2nd season.

I doubt they will do anything this time, at most they will remove the top 1 gym for making too much noise about it.
The thing is, it's clearly a feature they built on purpose because they didn't want one guy to lock a fight and block the entire gym from progressing. What's most likely is that they will rework it before they run the event again. Curious too see how they would do it too, what they chose is actually the least frustrating way to handle it. It would suck if you got a good score and then you got a message telling you that someone else played the battle before you and either you have to start over or their score is subtracted from yours or something. Current way is the best, both get the points they were meant to get and the battle gets completed. It's just quite easy to abuse with good coordination.

They can easily set an AFK kick out of the fight. Co-op has an AFK trigger that turns on the Auto if someone is being a dick. All they need to do is the same except kick the person out instead, give them an error message on screen and force them out if they're on the pause screen. And give a cooldown period when someone retries or quits a fight, like 10 seconds at max. There, problem solved. Someone that is self-sabotaging their gym like that sounds so retarded, and i highly doubt anyone was going to try it in the first place, but if they want to worry about those ridiculously rare cases, than go about it the right way.
