As said in the last thread, Power Blazer seems most likely.

Was there ever an episode where Arino wrote a message on a Ghouls n Ghosts/Makaimura arcade cabinet?

Which system will be featured first? They would probably go for Japan only titles, since they would have the most appeal, and be easier to license.

Gotta unseal it from the floorboards first

Imagine if that really was the problem this whole time. They actually did lock it away at the end of that segment, lost access to the place where it was shot, Kan refused to shell out the yen to get them a new one.

I'd go for one of the orphaned Sega IPs on the Xbox like JSRF or PD Orta.
I'm pretty sure it's not possible to capture video output from the handhelds without modding so that pretty much rules them out.
I wonder if there is anything that isn't terrible on the Loopy.

Hard to say, like I doubt games about fortune telling were all that popular, yet they managed to make a mini corner with those.
>>
>>12403125
they made a whole mini-corner about fishing games, and then Producer Kan said it was substandard. But how I don't know since they seem to be hitting the bottom fo the barrel for mini-corners.
I do wonder if my now decade of asking for more bass fishing games has played some role in the creation of that segment. Probably no one else wanted those.
>>
Just thought of some mini-corner ideas.
>The Price is Right
Arino and two other contestants have to bid on retro games and guess how much they cost.
>Fighting Corner
In the corner of a boxing ring, a coach gives Arino the winning moves which he has to then perform in various retro fighting games.
>Let's Make a Princess
Arino and Ogawa act as parents for their new princess as they go through Princess Maker 2
>Let's make friends in the Animal Village
Animal Forrest (N64) - Arino gets tips on how to make friends and play the game. The set is a dingy office.
>Let's make a farm
In full farmer regalia, Arino and an AD work through the basics of Harvest Moon (SFC) and try to construct a farm. The AD plays the game on off hours and they check in the farm over the course of several weeks.
Just pick one of the sim games and make that a mini-corner. They don't make good challenges and take like 60 hours if you want to do it right.

Due to the fact that most sports and racing games use licenes they can't ever be played. Instead these are more likely:
>Nekketsu sports
>Anime/manga sports
>Mario sports
>kart racing
>futuristic racing
>arcade racing.
Almost all racing and sports games are licensed which limits what can be played. The above mostly what you can get.
For instance, the only 3D racing game they've done is Choro Q because it's based on a brand of toy cars in Japan. They are never going to do Gran Turismo sadly. Ridge racer is a maybe.
Also, there's a bunch of sports games based on specific manga, such as the recent Dodgeball game.

It's game by game, but you have to check fi they use real car names and brands or not. I checked the PS1 Initial D game, and it looks like they use fantasy car names and no logos so it's good to go.

Also, I have never been sure what level of violence is okay or not in the show. I used to think they'd never do City Hunter since every bad guy you hit flies back while blood splurts out from them. But then they did Shin Shinobi Den, which has a similar effect.

Did you miss the Last Alert challenge where almost all of the enemies violently bleed out when they die.And the protag bleeds out even more than that when they die.
The only parts they skipped in that game where the female enemies, but they don't bleed out, they just do an 'EEK' and fall to their knees and vanish.
>>
>>12405843
The effect in Shin Shinobi Den is a bit mroe graphic: The guy is sliced in half, and blood shoots out until he vanishes. They even use live action characters.
I don't think they had age ratings back then in japan, so they're not going on that. I *think* the guideline is that if it's 2D, and not extremely graphic, some blood is okay. 3D games are a bit too "real".

>I'd go for one of the orphaned Sega IPs on the Xbox like JSRF or PD Orta.
That's the 2nd and 4th game in those series, and given that GCCX will often take a break of 4-8 years between games we might not get an Xbox game until 2035.

Hard to say, when you zoom in on the sprite, it shows the guy was shot in the face and he's bleeding out everywhere.

According to this there was only 153 Hockey games released in this time period. To be a good fit for the show, it needs to be
> Unlicensed
>developed and published in Japan.
They will go for American produced games, periodically, but mostly for games that are very well known or heavily requested (Earthworm Jim or Battletoads). They will never have the money to get an official NHL or NPB license.
The good news is that they're almost certainly going to do Winter Heat in a few years time. Perfect fit for the show, sequel to Decathlete, and no Olympic branding.

Blades of Steel, have him go right into Pro and if it looks like he'll fail, scale it back to college.
It's a konamii game too so shouldn't be that hard to get the rights.
>>
>>12411115
In Japan, that one is Konamic Ice Hockey on the Disk System.
Probably not hard to get the rights, but Konami is a pain in the ass to deal with. They tend to charge more and have all kinds of annoying stipulations, like sometimes they can't show the instruction book or the box, can't give away the game as a prize, limited number of reruns, can't put it in a DVD set (or they want an unreasonable amount for the DVD licensing), etc.

Yes, thank you. I've found two sources of sports series that are without official licsenses: Konami sports and Nintendo sports.

I showed that game to my mom thinking I could show her a puzzle game she could have interest in around 2014, and she proceeded to say it's boring, that I'm stupid for even showing it to her and to immediately turn it off.

Because all the trips had some sort of business aspect to them.
>South Korea - 50th episode and checking the state of gaming in SK where Arino interviewed e-sports players
>France 1 - To sell the rights of the show to an overseas groups
>USA - to advertise and get a feel for how much interest there was for Retro Game Master
>Cambodia - The fighting game tournament
>France 2 - He was invited to that big convention in Paris
>Vietnam - Only one that really didn't have an overt business objective.
>Russia - The Sonic 3 Orchestra concert
Hard to see Arino going overseas any time soon.

lol you're right. you're probably onto something. Members of the staff are going there anyways, so why not bring a camera crew and turn it into a full episode?

I think there's a big one in Brisbane that has lots of classic machines, and a few in Sydney that have pinball and classic games, but they're smaller.
Not sure about other states.
He can do all the usual koala-hugging and kangaroo feeding which would make for good TV, or visit the beaches etc.
