Besides Super Mario BrosWhat's your favorite black box NES title? For me it's a three-way tie between Kung Fu, Pinball, and Donkey Kong.

Growing up I had Excitebike, Kung, Fu, Pinball, Pro Wrestling, and Mario. All of which are great. I think Excitebike was my favorite. Once I learned you could make your own tracks I would make these endless levels and it would make me laugh how long they went on for.
It's also pretty crazy how out of all these we got one licensed game with Popeye. Is that his only console game?

The whole point of the Famicom in the first place in 1983 was to make a machine that could accurately recreate of Nintendo's arcade games at home. The launch titles of the Famicom were Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., and Popeye. Popeye is a licenced game but it was directly made by Nintendo for arcades. It's also a really famous piece of trivia that Donkey Kong was going to be based on Popeye.

Alright, I have a few questions for the black box experts.
>Should the silver box games (Metroid / Kid Icarus / Rad Racer) be considered honorary black box games due to the boxart style being identical save for the black "background" being silver instead?
>Should Devil World and F1-Race be considered honorary black box games despite their US releases being cancelled? If they released here, they would've used the black box packaging.
>Should Zelda 1 and Punch-Out!! be considered honorary black box games due to said games initially intending to use the black box style for their packaging before getting swapped for something different? If someone can please find that flier that shows what I'm taking about with that last one, please post it as I can't find it.

Came out after the blackbox run so no.

That's sound reasoning and Devil World technically had a blackbox variant through the PAL release. So yes.

Came out after the blackbox run so no. Had they been released with their original blackbox designs then yes, but those were more likely placeholders than a final design.

I feel like Popeye should also be an honorary black box game

Popeye is already a black box game (>>12412039 in the middle of the far rightmost column)

You know, I'm surprised Nintendo didn't try and brand the games that had already released in the U.S. as VS System games under the "Arcade Classics Series", especially since they could've made the selling point that they were 99% arcade perfect.
