Hey anons, recently tried hacking my 3ds and realized that my windows 7 pc just can’t get the job done. In fact, it’s basically a retro gaming machine and that’s it now. To be able to do hacks and download a bunch of retro shit. My question is, what could I expect from this thing in terms of retro gaming (like will it go to the ps2 and Dreamcast or nah on emulation) or is there a cheap laptop alternative you guys suggest? I’ll be getting a gaming pc in a few months so this is just a temporary fix for the moment and when I’m done w it I’ll wipe it and give it to my dad to use for solitaire and his handful of websites he goes too.

Tl;dr just looking for a quick cheap laptop so I can hack my 3ds (also probably my wii too) something I’m going to upgrade from in a few months anyway.

nope, thats weak as hell. emulation needs a good CPU, start with intel i5 or Ryzen 5

Jesus. First of all, sanitize your links - everything after the question mark is just tracking bullshit. Even if you don't care about privacy at least make it look nicer. As for the laptop, that is some plastic, budget, no-name piece of shit running the most stripped down bobo processor and it's a few generations old already. The ad is also full of typos from the manufacturer so that can not bode well. I'd be leery of how long the "SSD" will work since a lot of the time cheap computers like that will use an embedded flash card which has little endurance.

Assuming you're in the US, you'd do much better to go on eBay and buy a used business machine. For the same money you can get a similar or better spec'd laptop that isn't ready to fall apart. For example, I have an HP Elitebook 850 G8, which is better in every way than that laptop, and I paid less than the Walmart price.

unironically what you should do is go to a local library and use their pcs to hack your 3ds, no one is gonna care. or just get an sd card to phone adapter and do the file transfers on the android phone i'm sure you have.

This is the way. Business machines are not gaming devices but they are robust and you can find a lot of decent machines for cheap on the second hand market.
