Here lies the dread that lived in the silence between footsteps.
Where every open door was a gamble, and every hall a masterpiece of tension.
"In memory of the Jill Sandwiches and the ink ribbons we saved for later."
We remember the heavy clack of Tank Controls that kept us grounded in terror, and the Pre-rendered Backgrounds that transformed pixels into haunting art.
We pay tribute to the Green Herbs that mended our wounds and the Item Boxes that carried our burdens through the night.
1996: We entered the survival horror at the Arklay Mansion.
1998: We witnessed the fall of Raccoon City and the birth of icons like Leon and Claire.
1999: We learned to fear the word "S.T.A.R.S." whispered in the shadows of Nemesis.
2000–2003: We followed the bloodline from Rockfort Island to the refined horror of the Spencer Estate reborn.
You taught us that "Evil is only a word; the reality is much worse".
Your legacy remains etched in the moonlight of the Arklay Mountains and the smoldering ruins of the R.P.D.
"Itchy. Tasty."

It's a fine game, but it's not the same as the original REs. I'm OK with that, I even really enjoyed the SH2 remake, but over the shoulder action focused survival horror aren't the same as proper Aloneinthevanias.

Put the tampon back in your pussy, they made like 3 action games in the series then went back to survival horror afterwards. There have been more classic-style Resi games since 6 than there have been action game Resis in total.

You can certainly call something else in the series survival horror, but an FPS or OTS is hardly the classic RE/survival horror style. I'd even loosen the definition to even include more free "cinematic" camera styles with partial control, like you find in the older Silent Hill series games, but even with that, the genre is dead in terms of mainstream releases.

AI often reads like a reddit post written with the intent of maximizing upvotes. Which makes sense, since I imagine that most AIslop generators were created using reddit posts as data, with more weight given to highly rated posts.

That's what it is I think, making everything sound unnecessarily grand. Although on a second look, what the fuck does some of this even mean?

>† R.I.P. Resident Evil (1996–2003) †
I put off playing Code Veronica until like 2018 since everybody online said how shit it was and I had already romanticised the original PS1 trilogy in my head; but I was blown away by its "classic RE vibe" with a few next-gen tweaks and I ended up loving the game just as much as the originals.
