>ferrite choke on the ribbon cable connecting the device to the cartridge in the Genesis
Where the hell was this thing expected to be deployed, in the middle of a bunch of demonstration microwave ovens?

How did people even change games before this???

Using the FamicomBox of course

you don't.
genesis has no eject button, so your cart is stuck there forever.

FCC regulations were rather extreme back then, ever opened up a Model 1 or 2 Genesis? The thing is basically encased in a metal coffin inside. The SegaCD game with a metal plate you was meant to put between the Genesis and SegaCD that would basically connect it's internal metal coffin to the one in the Genesis to electronically connect them as one giant RFID cage. Same with the 32X and a metal sleeve you was supposed to put in the cartridge slot.

NES has the aluminum plates too. I think the SNES does as well, but I can't recall, I haven't opened my SNES in ages. I kinda get those. But on the damn ribbon cable? Might as well put one on the RF adaptor.
