It seems that all other films from the Disney Renaissance got good video games, and often tons of them on all of the consoles available at the time. Little Mermaid got a great NES/Game Boy title, Aladdin got great titles on Genesis, SNES, Master System and Game Gear, Lion King got a good title on SNES/Genesis, even the later films like Pocahontas, Hercules and Tarzan all got proper console releases. Mulan seemed like perfect material for a decent sidescroller, or 3D title on PS1, but all we got was a "Story Studio".
What did we actually get in the 90's? A bootleg on Genesis, a 15min title on Game Boy, and the arcade Legend of Heroes, made without Disney's permission. I find all of these titles decent for what they are, but still a shame we didn't get a major Mulan release then.

I think it was just a case of it drawing the short straw among a crowded slate. tarzan, toystory 2, bugs life, lion king, aladdin. all those properties were in the pipeline. if one game was going to get axed it's the princess one you can sell as a girl game on pc and call it a day.
