Did someone actually use this? Genuinely curious.

I saw this in a magazine or something but didn't know even 1 person who had it IRL.

I bought one at Kmart brand new in the package about 15 years after the PS1 was discontinued.
The only real use I got out of it was 4-player Crash Team Racing.
>>
>>12423924
I played twisted metal at my cousins friends house with 4 people once.
>>
>>12423924
Yes normies used it for sports games.
>>
>>12423924
Had it because I have siblings. Didn't work all the time from what I remember.
>>
>>12423924
I had it, we used to play Micro Machines V3 with 4 people.
>>
>>12423924
I had one, back when I had friends. we used to play ISS / PES
>>
i had it, mainly for soccer games too.
fifa 98 was fun because any player could pause the game and others couldn't know who did it. so you could ruin the game for everyone and get away with it
>>
>>12423924
i used it to play 3 player twisted metal 4 on the tic-tac-toast map
>>
the only 4 player ps1 game that even comes to mind is worms armageddon and since only 1 person goes at a time just passing the controller around is fine
>>
>>12423924
Yeah, played a bunch of Micro Machines V3, Circuit Breakers, CTR, FIFA, and the Smackdowns.
We used the Link cable far less. Only a couple of C&C skirmishes and one session of Doom.

my hindu friend had one of these and we would play that top down boat game at his birthday parties. the german homie had the snes multitap for bomberman that was lit. Dude had a copy of the aerosmith game for the superscope on cartridge, I had to edit wikipedia to say that game exists

How can you connect four memory cards when the cord only has a controller plug? How the BIOS shows the 4 memory cards on its menu?
I'm a N64 fag.
>>
>>12424485
The system only reads the memory card in slot A which is why it has that little icon. The other controller ports only have memory card slots because the controller and memory card connectors came as one part on the console and sony just reused the part on the multi-tap to save money, those memory card slots don't do anything.

The PS2 multi-tap can actually read all the memory cards in all the ports but if a game doesn't support the multi-tap it'll only read slot A.

I played 4 player ISS and 8 player FIFA. Good times.
>>
I never played a PS1/PS2 game in 4 player until the PS3 came out and you could just pair 4 wireless controllers. My model of PS3 only had the software PS2 emulation so Ratchet and Clank 3 ran like ass when I tried it though.

>EA
So soulless
>>
>>12423924
I saw one once in my whole life. The 64 and GC got way more play time for multiplayer because of that shit.
Not having 4 ports default was such a asshole move. Imagine how many more good mp games woulda been made for ps if it wasnt kneecapped by this bullshit

retro ea is great
>>
>>12424664
So these are the supposed "White men" (((they))) keep talking about?

I dunno EA games always had this corpo soulless feel to them honestly.
>>
>>12423924
some people have it to play FIFA, ps2 multitap was more used thanks to fifa vs pro.
>>
A neighbor in my old neighborhood had one. We used it once on Triple Play '99 for four of us to play and it was a nice experience. Don't know if he used it much though.
>>
greed island was the only time it was relevant
>>
>>12423924
How else were you supposed to play wrestling? On the n64 where 4 players were native to the console?
>>
>>12425175
Relying on licensed IP will do that to a company.
>>
>>12423924
Nope. Not too many games with support to justify it. If you had more than 2 kids in the household playing video games then most likely you'd have an n64 or dreamcast.
>>
>>12427267
>not playing games with your siblings
Mine and I would rent games and make sure they were multiplayer so we could play together either all at once or switch one out.
>>
>>12425175
There was some fun ea games. The typical sport games, you already knew what to expect. But they did have more than that. EA sucks now, but back then they had some good stuff outside your typical sport games.
>>
>>12424498
>those memory card slots don't do anything.
they function as holders for your bros to store their card when they come over
>>
>>12427272
It was mainly just me and my brother playing video games so the ps2 was fine.
>>
>>12425230
man what game do you think greed island was really about? Digimon world 1?
