That was Art of Fighting in Japan, and Mortal Kombat in the USA+Canada.

Source? Japan seems to love Fatal Fury Special, and it was Fatal Fury that got the Real Bout Series to rival SF Alpha, not AoF.

that said, Tekken 3 was my first PS1 game, and one of the only fighting games I got really invested into. Eddy Gordo main btw
