JRPGs you usually play as some kind of special chosen one class that's a combination fighter/magic.
The one I can think of where you do play as a thief, the thief part isn't fun at all. They somehow turned the stealing mechanic into an obnoxious chore.

Japanese games make thievery too abstract. To steal you need to unlock the steal spell by equipping a particular item, and even then, stealing is something you can't do out of combat or something stupid

Its fun to steal furniture from prostitutes in Elin, and you can actually sneak past most enemies. Be warned the playstyle is exponentially worse with party members.

Playing as solo thief in Kenshi is the only way i enjoyed that sandbox slopma
