Here come the tears. Did you know that in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim you actually role play as a character in a larger world? It’s a stark difference from your JPRG excel spreadsheet autobattler you call a RPG lol

I'm not holding my breath. I expect something somehow even more watered down than Skyrim, and no number of promises or gameplay-less trailers will convince me otherwise.

You're thinking about a Morrowind remaster. An Oblivion remaster had been predicted for years.

It's gonna be generic fantasy slop. We're never getting another game like Morrowind ever again.
>>
>>3930830
>'classic Bethesda game' like 'Oblivion' and 'Skyrim'
As opposed to? They've been modding Morrowind the whole time (Starfield included), and none of the attempts were as good as Morrowind.
It'll definitely somehow be worse than Skyrim, and that's not a high bar. But at least Skyrim back then managed to not be a direct downgrade thanks to being more of its own thing rather than literally just Morrowind but bad and ugly. They can't create such contrast again.

isn't TESVI set in Hammerfell?
>>
I honestly hope it doesn't come out. Without the top writers that made previous elder scrolls games rich in lore, this game will be slop catering to woke libtards, assuming it really is set in hammerfell. I'd rather they release skyrim and milk it for another decade than give us more Ugly npcs and nonbinary genderless garbage like in the awful oblivion demaster

skyrim just barely squeezed in before the deadline; it was the last big game that was good, imo
>>
>>3932843
>skyrim just barely squeezed in before the deadline; it was the last big game that was good, imo
That's just your being nostalgic because you played it for the first time as a teenager, or before you realised how bad the games industry was going to get, or whatever. It's a game with a litany of obvious problems, many of which it inherited from Oblivion or had become even worse since then. I'm sure you had fun with it, but being fun does not make it a good game.
>>
>>3932851
no, its great
I was in my 20s when it came out, and I appreciate the many improvements it has over the previous titles, that you refuse to acknowledge. You only hate skyrim because of the bandwagon effect; everybody loved it when it was new, then the contrarian option was to hate it because it was popular, then it became cringe to like it. I have BALLS

Its in my top 10 games of all time.
>>
>>3932852
I don't know how you can look at a game that is obviously worse in so many ways than Oblivion, which itself was worse in so many ways than Morrowind, and go "it's great" beyond nostalgia. What improvements are you talking about? There are a few, but they're more than offset by the issues everywhere else.
>You only hate Skyrim because of the bandwagon effect; everybody loved it when it was new
Actually, lots of people (especially long-time Elder Scrolls players) pointed out the issues from release, because that's how obvious they are. I don't care about your retarded speculation about how the only reason people could possibly dislike your pet game is because muh hivemind or some shit.

>Its in my top 10 games of all time.
As I said before, exactly the kind of person I would expect to be excited for TESVI.
>>
>>3932858
>that is obviously worse in so many ways than Oblivion
enlighten me

oblivion has better aesthetics imo, but of course worse graphics
but surely you have more reasons than that?
>>
>>3932862
>enlighten me
No attributes, no classes, birthsigns as swappable abilities (so character creaton is meaningless apart from race, which barely matters), enchanting gutted, spellmaking removed, magic gutted in general, retarded perk system somehow manages to be even worse than Oblivion's, and in addition a lot of the fundamental problems with Oblivion's gameplay (such as the retarded level scaling) are sitll present, they're just less obvious than they were in Oblivion. The faction questlines are also much worse (somehow), and that's without mentioning the problems unique to Skyrim. Want me to go on?

Now you try telling me why the game is so "great" and "amazing".
>>
>>3932872
>The faction questlines are also much worse
this is the only thing you said thats even partly true, the rest are either false or were actually improvements
>>
>>3932873
>the rest are either false or were actually improvements
Okay. How do I make custom spells in Skyrim? Does it unlock once I join the Mages' College that I don't need to know magic to join?
>>
>>3932874
you shouldnt make custom spells; you have no reason to
its just an avenue for broken powerfantasy garbage
skyrim did make the mistake of letting you powerlevel smithing, and using alchemy to boost enchanting to boost alchemy to boost enchanting ad infinitum; so its not entirely blameless in that regard
>>
>>3932878
Yeah, who would want complexity, or choice, or, you know, roleplaying in their action game? I'm surprised you're not excited for the next game, you seem like you're modern Bethesda's exact target audience.
>>
>>3932884

I don’t understand you anons who are still mad that people like Skyrim and want to argue about it being bad. Surely it’s been long enough that you’d stop giving a shit and move on? Strange behavior. Then there’s always the “I’m not mad, you’re mad” card.

Thanks. I haven't had a solid bellylaugh in a while.

>>3930830
Avowed is crashing on at least 50 percent of systems since it's big anniversary patch and it is still now 100x better than Starfield and 10x better than anything Bethesda has produced since 2000.

Yes it is full on woke too which doesn't do it any favors but RPGs are like the special olympics now in many ways.
>>
>>3930830
doubtful unfortunately
>>
>>3930830
If their idea of a classic RPG is Skyrim it's going to be shit. After Starfield, and Fallout 76 I have zero interest in the trash they're putting out.
>>
>>3932731
You know you can just mod the niggers out. Bethesda promotes it
>>
>>3933676
>10x better than anything Bethesda has produced since 2000
Avowed is not better than Skyrim, much less Morrowind.
>>
>>3933690
>just work for free
>the company that pisses on its customers will love it
Them being under the wing of Microsoft added another layer to the onion made of scum.
Well, good luck with modding.
>>
I’m not even sure we can count on Bethesda to “let the modders fix it for free”. The genie of selling paid mods isn’t going back into the bottle.
>>
>>3933751
Since it's most likely going to be Todd's last game (I'm speculating, but given his age it's a fair assumption), maybe it will get some sort of special treatment.
>>
>>3933793
I doubt Todd is even in charge or has any meaningful input. He’s just a figurehead and a name. Bethesda is too bloated now, one hand doesn’t talk to the other anymore. There’s an interview with a now retired Bethesda oldfag that describes as such. Used to be when they were all in the same office they could just go talk in person and hash it out.
>>
>>3933811
>just a figurehead and a name
He's listed as a game director. Not splitting hairs, just humbly spreading hopium. It's not like there's much else to look forward to as far as Bethesada is concerned.

Third anon is me, not the first two. I stand by my point. I can understand why someone might not like Skyrim. I cannot understand why someone is still seething about it and arguing about it two decades later.
Move on for fucks sake. You’ve had plenty of time to get over it.
>>
>>3934283
I'm not seething about it, I acknowledged in one of my very first posts that anon would have had fun with the game. But having fun with a game does not make it a good game.
>I cannot understand why someone is still arguing about it two decades later
This is a board to discuss video games.

>>
>>3933661
What's the matter? Can't stand the sight of a strong Redguard woman?
>>
>>3934304
Nah, you know exactly what I’m talking about. There’s a certain contingent of posters on this board who are absolutely assblasted about Bethesda games and will hungrily argue in every Morrowind and Skyrim thread (Oblivion fans are more pitiable imo) because they still have an axe to grind. It’s odd behavior. Like the mirror image of the muh Todd newfags. A sensible person would just post “I didn’t care for Skyrim for X, Y, Z reasons, and then I moved on and stopped caring about the company/franchise”, not camp in every thread to propel it to the bump limit with petty slapfights.
You could retort with “a sensible person wouldn’t be posting on /vrpg/ to begin with” and you may well be correct but here we are.
