So I got myself a Raspberry Pi for running emulators on the big TV. Sorry, but emulation is objectively better than buying overpriced hardware and games. Now it’s time to find some good RPGs, but every time I look for anything (like SNES), all I get is Chrono Trigger. I’m anti-anime / Japanese-style stuff. Are D&D games and JRPGs really all there is on consoles? I don’t want to turn into a degenerate weeb who plays JRPGs

I am not a weeb but why are there so many fervent anti weebs who discredit the objective and observable artistic merits of any and all japanese fiction? it's literally no different than saying you hate the entire canon of western literature and cinema just because of something like 50 shades of grey

Can you check and correct this for spelling and grammar mistakes?
OP here, its because im white. Not saying that Japanese stuff is inherntly shit, but it stems from a culture that isn't mine. No matter how many times I tried there is always something wierd and off about it (mostly the stories being cringy). The problem is not japanese games, nor Japanese poeple playing Japanese games, but the white poeple doing it. I've heard the arguement oh there is good anime or whatever too, but it always by poeple that wil watch something just and only because its Japanese and not just because it has actual artistic value. I've never met a single person that likes this stuff and isn't obsesed with japan while hating thier own culture for no reason.
TLDR: Japanese media including games including JRPGs and thier stories feel wierd to me, and the poeple opsesed with them go to far because they hate thier own culture or something

For Generally Western Snes:
- Illusion of Gaia
- Secret of Evermore
- Terranigma
- Mario RPG
- Ogre Battle
- Tactics Ogre
- Arcana [ Good Music ]
- Treasure of the Rudras [ Pretty hard ]
Granted many are from japan, but that does not mean they are neccessarily steeped in anime culture.

>Shadowrun for SNES
Even if the Genesis one is cooler, this game looks and feels like it was made for PC because of the aiming reticule. You progress by talking to npcs to learn info that you can mention to other npcs, and it has some interesting quests.
>Aidyn Chronicles for N64
Game that filtered me as a kid and I still have to fully explore this year. The presentation is about as shit as you can get, the graphics are ruff and it has no music or almost none. However it is indeed a game with optional party member recruitment, permadeath, and some non-combat skills that I don't know are important or not yet.

Raspberry Pis are overpriced hardware though
You can do the same with any old laptop
