Consumer Games Development Division 3 is apparently working on a Breath of Fire project. I just started as a temp in localization so I’m not involved, but I can see internal Slack channels and file names. I don’t know if it’s a remake or just a port, but it’s labeled as a full project and not just a re-release. Platform listed is PS5. I managed to grab a screenshot of one of the draft key arts tagged for external use. I’ve never actually played the games, just know the series exists. If anyone else has info, chime in.

I’ll try to post more if I can, but I think someone noticed something because the Slack channels I was lurking in suddenly disappeared. Either they reorganized or I spooked someone. Not sure how much longer I’ll have access

Pretty cool if real.
If they were intent on doing it right:
>They would recapture the music style from the first two games
>There would be NO female warriors or tanks.
>All female characters would be extremely glass
>Would stop fucking around with futurism, where sword guys fight guys with guns
>Make it distinctly medieval or antiquity.
>Make Nina Anorexic just like in Dragon Quarter
>More philisophical and gray in its "Man vs God" theme.
>Make it HARD if you do it non-linear style

>star ocean
stop bitching. Star ocean did not start off as a medieval game; Breath of Fire did. How retards like you can justify this trope of guys with swords fighting guys with guns, I will never understand and will always just assume you are kind of gay and retarded.

That's Cray from IV cool happy for more BoF, but I'm not thrilled about that art style looks too soft and ''mobile''.

Did you even play the 1st star ocean? There's barely any sci-fi in it. You could remove literally all of it except the time travel shit and the game wouldn't change at all.

Yeah was playing it literally yesterday.
The gameplay would not change, you are right. Yet Star Ocean was obviously some sort of love letter to Star Trek, and so that theme lingers in the background and sets the stage for all remaining games and anime. The opening has english compressed audio saying,
>Captains Log, stardate 356
>Some say space is a Star Ocean
etc
And in spite of that, Star Ocean does not pit people with guns up against people with swords, so it doesnt violate that stupid trope.
