Anyone here played this shit? Been thinking of picking it up. I like the concept of having to actually sell your items rather than just throwing them all in a box and fucking off to do whatever. How deep does the actual selling of items go? Can you barter with people?

No, you just put items on the counter, ring your bell, and mash A when someone walks up to buy them. You have limited counter space and customers will sometimes ask for something not on display, walking away if you ignore them. It's not very hard to sell out all stock anyway.
You can influence sales prices with decorations or selling trending goods but it isn't really important, especially as far as the story milestones go.
