What are some games? and no, I don't mean just any kind of older party member who's been on an adventure or two. Specifically ones who've done something identical or very close to the current protag's journey. Likely visited the same places etc.
Right now I can only think of Galuf, Auron, and Kratos

The ones I remember kind of is Legaia 2 which has a cool old martial artist who has seen it all and teaches the main guy through the game how to kick ass.

Also legend of heroes 3 has an old guy.tagging along from the start who has seen it all.
