Post pics or greentexts about stuff that happened in your campaign that make you ragequit or give you the urge to do it.

Mine
>be tengrist Ilkhanate
>actually doing pretty good
>this retarded unskippable event happens
>all my progress to reform Tengri nearly got wipeout

(Same bullshit happened in my campaign of William the Bastard when he "decided" to become English and lose the Norman ability to raid.)

I hope one day PDX will go bankrupt.

Nearly got killed myself by that rival + a massive civil war.

>fine, whatever, it's part of playing nomad, I'll just rebuild when he's gone
>he camps my capital until the hostility timer is just about up
>moves over to neighbouring settlement, raids it for one day (long enough to reset hostility), and moves back to sitting on my capital to keep me from building another army

Only fucking game I can say I legitimately, without hesitation, have been griefed by the AI in

>cool duck
I know that feeling anon, I never meet a fellow CK2 player that likes nomads (don't get me wrong, I like the idea behind it, but the implementation just sucks).

For me it's usually nothing dramatic or specific. Some features are just horribly annoying. Fighting off raid after raid makes sense for the time period, but in terms of the gameplay it gets so tedious. It's especially bad when you reach that point of dominance. When you're the biggest empire around and all you really get to do is smack down pointless raids that don't have a chance in hell to stand up to you.

It is, in some ways, a problem all games have. But it's also a testament to CK2 not having great realm administration mechanics. CK3 is slightly worse at this yet. There you don't even have Great Works to distract yourself with late game.

>when he "decided" to become English
Embracing English culture is literally a character decision, you chose to become English, also Norman culture only allows you to raid overseas if you were already allowed to raid, aka you converted to paganism, which is much more ahistorical than a Norman becoming English

This mod is a requirement for playing nomads, because enter shortcut doesn't work (at least for me), eliminates half of the clicking when you need to raze provinces
>>
>>2325034
Well, in my campaign it was NOT a decision, it appeared as an unskippable event.

Also, despite being catholic, as Norman I could still raid. And before you ask it, no, I didn't use mod, it was IRONMAN ON to get achievements. Perhaps it was a bug, but for once, it was a good bug.

>cool, I hope he do some cool stuff
>vagnarjbruf the conqueror conquers Rome
>crusades are unlocked
>every shitty catholic count can summon fat stacks of holy super crusader orders and catholics are now untouchable
I hate catholicism and all their holy orders
>>

Wrong, a cultural raiding feature works regardless of religion, I know this because changing my culture to raid as a Zoroastrian was a key part of my Karen campaign.

On a related note, I ragequit one of my early attempts at said campaign after a vassal beat me in a civil war, imprisoned my sisterwife & then made her his concubine. What a bastard.
>>
>>2329576
yeah but Norman isn't one of those cultures.
the bit about "can raid overseas with ships" or whatever doesn't actually mean it enables raiding on its own. it means you can get extra loot on your ships if you can already raid. there's a reason that e.g. Norse has both that line and the one about being able to raid in general
also hey hiroshimoot if you're going to make me do a captcha can you please let me actually do it instead of just expiring it the second I click to get it

He likely developed it, need to check their focuses too and if its carousing they could turn into a drunkard
>>
>>2324581
bro you know you can just boat down to roma and siege it down in like a week, right? crusades are an absolute joke if you have literally any coastline at all
>>
>>2325295
Even before the Crusades start, HRE with their little holy wars ruin all the fun of playing euro-pagans after the year 800.

And with Abbasids or any other muslim empire is never fun, because pagans always become cucks instead of going zealots of their native religions.
Even the Buddhists and Hindus are lame and they don't have the retarded unreformed mechanics:
>low chance of conversion
>you can't demand conversion
>no medic nor feudalism
>>
>>2337951
>no medic
I think that's tied to tribal/nomadic gov, not faiths, and even then, you can still get one through event, or just appoint high learning courtiers
>>
I'm doing a reformed suomenusko campaign uniting the various finno-ugric tribes in northeastern Europe and apparently you can't raid anymore after going feudal with HIP.

This might be the 1st time I drop a campaign in CK2. Honestly, I disliked more things than I liked about HIP.

This should be the point when you start to learn how to mod
>>
>>2325035
good shit

anybody know how the fuck do turn off the localization in HiP

I can't seem to get any actual answers despite asking
>>
>>2342923
I'm pretty sure it's in the game rules. "Cultural title names" or something like this.

I had it turned on once and never again. English only from now.
>>
>>2343316
It was from HiP, I had to reinstall the whole thing.

I'm going to play as the Duke of Apulia in 1066, I think. The only issue is that there's no real way to make Bohemond your crusade beneficiary, despite that being what happened in real loif. I don't know if rushing ultimogeniture or such would work.
>>
>>2343505
>only issue is that there's no real way to make Bohemond your crusade beneficiary
No playable relatives?

I think only same dynasty characters can be made beneficiaries
>>
>>2344062
I don't think I'm skilled enough to go from "shitty ass one province count in a duchy" to "highest value combatant in the first crusade" in a few decades.
>>
>>2344326
There is, I think, a way to deal with this, and it would be to somehow rush any non-gavelkind style of rule

The issue is that this is almost impossible before Robert dies. I don't know what mod it is that's doing this, but I'm starting with 15 piety. 15. I basically need to wait years before I can declare even a single war, which means other countries start snapping up pieces of sicily.
>>
Can I mod a retinue unit to have three types of soldier instead of two? For example, adding Archers to the Praetorian unit, which is normally pikemen and heavy infantry.
>>
>>2350478
I think I've seen it in some mods
>>

>this retarded unskippable event happens
Doesn't that only happen if you have allowed a court chaplain to stay and listened to what they say? You did that to yourself.
>>
>>2330844
Tried that, for some reason the % did not go up on my side. I swear, this game is a bug-clusterfuck and the "AI" cheating (but only when (YOU) are the enemy, not when (YOU) are the ally) doesn't help either.
>>
>>2351743
Are you a massive retard or what?
Read again OP,
>>be tengrist Ilkhanate
>>all my progress to reform Tengri nearly got wipeout
My court chaplain was Tengrist, the event happened anyway.
>>
>>2338018
Still is a retarded mechanic.
>>
>>2329580
Norman IS one of the those cultures. I say it again, in my William's campaign I could raid while my character was Norman, once he became English that mechanic disappeared.
>>
>>2352674
nta
He's saying you let a musulman court chaplain into your court to spread his faith, and this is a possible result.
