does the culture of your wife matter for anything other than governing?
>>
>>2375873
Player character's children have a chance of being the culture of the NPC partner, which can have a few effects if you play as your heir and the culture is different.

Does anyone else like to genderbend enemy lords and add them to your harem when you defeat them? Would be great if there was a mod for doing this but the DCC editor works fine even if it's rough for immersion.

>Is butterlord good yet?
Vanilla? Fuck no. Realm of Thrones mod plus AI Influence? Fuck yes. Shokuho is good too, but really AI influence is the big one, turns a fine game into a one of a kind giga sandbox that feels more interactive than any other game ever made.
>Is war sails worth a buy, on sale?
For vanilla? Fuck no, the map isn't built for it so you'll barely be using ships. For Realm of Thrones mod? Fuck yes. Multiple continents, large jagged coastlines full of rivers and bays, and lots of islands mean it adds a ton of depth to the gameplay.
>Is there dynasty warriors?
Not yet
>>2375931
I used to use some character editor mod and change the sex of every character in the game right at the start but it caused lategame crashes. Doing it mid playthrough breaks my immersion and feels more like some tranny fantasy than a conqueror fantasy. It's really weird to me that there isn't a ton of mods already out that just make every character but the pc female.

Very hot pic.
>Me at the bottom
>>
>added knockdown functionality to all two-handed maces and adjusted their stats accordingly
>>
>>2376046
Actually a great change, maybe a bit OP. I was kinda bummed out that only one or two mace heads had the knockdown functionality when blacksmithing. Now I can craft some big dick damage mace that can also knock down people. At least I hope it applies to blacksmithing.
>>
I just hope they will fix troop weapon selection, especially for throwers.
Last version I played, if you bumrushed throwers, they wouldn't change to melee or would even attack without weapons for quite some time.
Most noticeable on sturgian mariner unit, which lacks 1 handed melee and as a result performs suboptimally in real battles.
>>
>cavalry no longer has a bonus in auto resolve
Thank god, I no longer have to fight every single battle against khuzaits.
>>
I played that World of Vasnar mod for a while, and it's pretty good. I really like the way they handled the dungeons, where they are fixed with fixed rewards, but there are more than enough of them to keep you entertained for a while. The questlines were pretty good, too. There's a bunch of pretty unique ones, with demon worshipers, vampire knights, witch hunters, church scholars and so on, and they're all much more developed than any quests in warband usually are. I really dig the aesthetic too, ripping off fromsoft was a good choice. Overall the mod feels nice to play in an rpg-ish way.
But it feels kind of too easy. The troops are not too strong, so it's easy for you or your companions to outshine even the highest tiers. There are powerful summoning spells all around, and in battles you can just use them all by swapping them from your storage. You could instead give them to your companions if you don't want to bother. Then you've got various special effects, like I got a vampire sword that heals you with each swing. You don't even need to hit anything for it to work. With some ironskin you become genuinely unkillable.
I had fun with the mod for a while, but for some reason it mostly just made me want to replay warsword conquest again, so here I am, doing a chaos playthrough now.
>>
ahhh i want the orc and dwarf update in old realms already!
>>
>>2376134
Same. I hope the dwarf troop trees are robust. I loved playing the empire because of just how much variety they had in their troops, while wood elves or the vampire courts were both incredibly one note and a bit boring as a result. Still haven't played Bretonnia and those OP elves yet.
Also I wish they'd add some options to tweak the difficulty somehow. You can get ridiculously overpowered in that mod, and you just end up curbstomping everyone.

Genuinely what the fuck were they thinking when they decided to turn off the Khorne frenzy during the actual Khorne trials? This is more than bullshit enough without additionally gimping you, too.
>>
>>2376463
Because once you reach the top, all that's left for you to do is to paint the map.
>>
>>2376471
I played Priest of Sigmar, Waywatcher and Necrarch. Empire troops and mechanics are the coolest by far, wood elves are very samey, and undead troops are just weak. The priest becomes near unkillable, and can heal and buff everyone around. The necrarch is always very frail, but can cast a huge amount of spells due to a massive mana pool, so he easily scores hundreds of kills each battle. Waywatcher is somewhere in between - can wear proper armor so he isn't killed that easily, and his arrows can go through shields and other units to rack up a good kill count as well.
>>
>>2376473
Last mark turns you into this thing apparently. Seems like you gain advanced ignore pain, but lose your dodge, and your armor is replaced but this. I guess it's alright.
>>
>>2376326

>>
>>2376470
Hello fellow 30 year old, is your back hurting by any chance?
Playing as a Mercenary in the mid game is the best part of butterlord.
Late game Kingdom building is too automated and isn't fun unless you are doing a psycopath run where you intend to execute literally every other Lord in the game.
>>
>>2376519
Can you still wear a hat?
>>2376548
Blackwood bias like it was written by the Martin himself
>>
>>2376551
>Can you still wear a hat?
The game doesn't prevent you from doing that, but you're clearly not meant to. They all clip horribly, and just look ridiculous. Haven't found any that would look acceptable so far.
Also you seem to have increased health, but I'm not quite sure how it works. It still shows the same max health as I had pre-transformation, but checking my character sheet during combat sometimes show my current health to be a significant amount above the "max".
>>2376548
>AI Influence
Huh, sounds cool, especially the world events. Does it completely tank the performance though? I imagine something like that is very heavy.
>>
>>2376551
Bias? its just that im playing as them or an even older magical bloodline.
+ in the eventgeneratorrules, i have: CORE RULES (KEEP IT SIMPLE)

- Events should feel like real Westeros rumors, scandals and omens.
- 40-50% of all events should involve the player, players sister or the weirwood at Raventree Hall.
- Tone: dark, mystical, bloody, intimate, political.
- One clear, vivid claim per event. No long explanations.

you could change it anytime when you go more into worldpolitics

>>2376553
no, really zero performance tanking. but i have 4090. i had 1 crash in 30hours. i use deepseek api

>>
truly the merging between ai and game. and it starts right here in /mbg/ the world doesn´t know yet
>>
>>2376562
I remember they merged an ai chatbot with bannerlord a couple years ago already, but it was obviously much more basic.
Still, I think this is a pretty interesting development, for once ai might be something more interesting in vidya.
>>
>>2376326
Basically it integrates absolutely everything in the game into the LLMs, so everything can be done via conversation. You can have in depth discussions about diplomacy, strategy, orders, positioning, governing, you can do romance and start marriages, make trade deals, convince people to defect, give orders mid battle, start duels, wars and battles really just everything. Additionally, it makes the rest of the world constantly run LLM generations so everyone has their own "thoughts" and personalities that get more and more developed the longer the game goes on, so personalities and interactions feel incredibly deep and the world feels MUCH more alive.
TLDR it's like an ai powered crusader kings style interaction system on top of normal bannerlord with every vanilla system integrated into it.
>>2376553
>Does it completely tank the performance though
No, the ai is run through a cloud, it just connects to the internet. If you use Player2 it gives you free ai credits daily for more powerful models, but also gives you unlimited free access to a model that's more than good enough for these simple tasks.
>>
>>2376559
The Chaos army is a mix of various knights and demons, but they're generally just melee infantry with a few exceptions. You've got basic recruits for generic chaos, khorne, slaanesh, tzeentch, and nurgle, and they all end up either very similar knights, or demons with some more unique speciality - the khorne ones have might blow and can get into a frenzy if they kill enough, the slaanesh ones can dodge, the tzeentch ones can shoot and the nurgle ones are extra tanky.
And yeah, I think I'll try out the ai influence on the old realms update as well. I wonder how will it handle it though, I think the mod has some hard coded animosity between factions. And unfortunately you can't marry in that mod either, and I feel like the AI implementation would make courting much more interesting.
>>
Is the AI diplomacy mod worth it? Can it do lewd stuff?
>>
>>2376613
>Is the AI diplomacy mod worth it?
Yes.
>Can it do lewd stuff?
Yes!
>>
>>2376628
NTA, but I've got a question, how do these >>2376548
world events work exactly in terms of the AI involvement? Are they just descriptions of things that have happened anyway due to other mechanics, or is there like an AI agent that creates or chooses to trigger some events based actual dynamic circumstances or player actions? What are they exactly?
>>
>model is so big I got spawned inside a wall in a dungeon
well, unfortunately there seem to be some serious negatives to the daemon prince form
I'm stuck...
On the bright side, I've found a headpiece that doesn't clip too much.
>>
>>2376463
Because unless you roleplay HARD, and keep playing slow on purpose to build a family line, you will always be a random no-name murderhobbo creating an impossibly strong and loyal kingdom out of nowhere and that always feels at odds with the game world and lore. Rags to riches is fine in an RPG where you only get stupid strong and defeat an ancient evil because you're an agent of destiny. In M&B nobody's magic and nobody's got a holy mission to accomplish great things, only personal ambition, and you don't get anything out of it beyond extra chores and tard wrangling.
>>
>>2376637
>is there like an AI agent that creates or chooses to trigger some events based actual dynamic circumstances or player actions?
NTA but if that's what it's doing then it's already basically a better version of the Rimworld storyteller. oddly it also reminds me of the popular storyteller/story progression mod Nraas for the Sims 3 that people would use to make the world feel more alive and dynamic.
>>
>>2376805
haven´t played those but yes, there is an actual AI agent behind them.

World Events in AI Influence are dynamically generated by the AI itself.
They are not just passive descriptions of things that happened anyway due to other mechanics. The AI (DeepSeek or your local model) constantly analyzes:

"Your actions
Current NPC interactions and relationships
The overall world state (secrets, known info, alliances, wars, player reputation, etc.)
The rules from eventsgeneratorrules.txt and world_secrets.json etc.

And then actively creates new events that fit the current story. Some events are direct consequences of what you did (e.g. “Bracken Blood Feud Deepens” after you brutally beat Jonos in the dungeon), while others are slightly proactive to build new tension and narrative.
In short: The AI is not just an observer here — it’s a dynamic storyteller that keeps the world alive and reacts to you."

you also can speak your way out most of the time when you are outnumbered for example. Like swear to kill that prisoner right now. or lure own faction or other factions you are at peace with into attacking you by asterisk erp *hiding your troops in the woodline*
>>
>>2376832

the best thing is simply that, how you can shape the world with cultural_traditions.json and the world.txt
like here for example:
https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/10270?tab=description

But you can just create your own, make the world more racist and sexist. or stuff like this (pic related/not mine)

- {Character} shall generate a random number between 0 and 50 representing natural attraction to the player's physical appearance. Make note of this number in the character's backstory in this format "Natural Attraction: #".
- {Character} shall generate a random height in feet and inches representing their own height with an average of 5'6" for men and 5'4" for women with a bell curve distribution and standard deviation of 6". Make note of this number in the character's backstory in this format "Height: <feet>' <inches>.".
- {Character} shall generate a random weight in lbs representing their own weight. To do so, use height in deciding weight by generating a BMI using 22 as average with a bell curve distribution and an 8 point standard deviation along with sex (women weigh less than men on average, so subtract a small random amount from the final total lbs, 5% should suffice) using the formula BMI * (Height in inches) * (Height in inches) / 703. Make note of this number in the character's backstory in this format "Weight: <weight> lbs."

(i´d give them fetishes)

+ with this https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/10550
you can edit everything ingame and even change their answers/personalities to your liking. (for example giving Coreins Husband a mini-cock whilst she likes it big) hahahaha.

NEW nothingburger OLD REALMS UPDATE
https://www.moddb.com/mods/the-old-realms/news/soon20
>>
>>2376913
Not Out yet
>>
>>2376885
RBM is good in practice, but I hate what it does to bows (make a new hundred versions of them with different poundage), and to armors (completely change the armor valies to much higher ones, so every armor mod now requires a patch to function with it).

I like Warbandlord because its pretty comprehenstive without being as intrusive as RBM, and because by reducing combad values and specially health to Warband Levels, it retroactively makes Perks that give more Health Points more powerful, which I think is good.
Warbandlord can also be paired with many other independant mods to add new features (such as Ulfkarl's and Artem's mods), so it can catch up to RBM in comprehensiveness.
>>
>>2376549
>is your back hurting by any chance?
work on your glutes by doing glute bridges and transversus abdominis by doing stomach vacuums. do slow reps and low numbers but make sure to feel the muscles contract.
most people have those muscles inactive/asleep which causes the lower back to pick up the slack and its not built for it.
if you continue to ignore it, you'll have disc issues and it will eventually require surgery.
>>
>>2376463
Probably because creating your own kingdom is your goal subconsciously, and not just a milestone. So it's like a climax, with it going downhill from there. If your deliberate goal is to take the map, then maybe you wouldn't lose motivation. Or maybe it's because creating your own kingdom requires you to reconquer shit, so it feels like backtracking. Or maybe because the game is literally the same thing over and over again, which is like chewing gum that has lost all flavour.

Oh shit, they've got goddamn flamethrowers. This looks so good, I can't wait. I think I'll go with the runesmith; I haven't played dwarves even in Warsword Conquest, so I have no idea how do the runes even work. And if the cannons here work the same as in the Empire, then I'm gonna need to level up engineering on my character as well. Not a fan of that part, but the cannons are just way too cool to pass up on.
>>
>>2376885
>>2376949
the real reason why RBM is so good is the added granularity to hit boxes and protection of armors actually matching up the coverage they provide ie shoulder pieces protecting the actual neck and shoulders instead of "body" and "head". All else is give or take.

It's frankly criminal that the base game has such a simplified system just because some oldheads want arcade-like consistency instead of flexibility.

I liked what i read about Warbandlord but when i tried it my char felt slow and fuckass weak. I was getting rolled in the practice arena and couldn't get past the first round in tournaments more often than not.
I will admit my starting build is the int 7 route but still, getting an arrow or javelin in the neck from offscreen in the practice fights almost every time made me feel very useless.

>>
>>2377265

>>
>>2377088
I'm sorry, but that "granularity" is inconsequential because there's little to no way you're gonna be micromanaging exactly where each attack you do lands with M&B's limited directional system.
The only situation where it actually would arguably be useful is for horse armors, so that barding isn't a "cover all" item, but actually protects the body, back legs and head differently.

I recently got Bannerlord. How do you make denars in this game? In warband, you would do tournaments and fight bandits/raiders to buy enterprises for passive income to set up eventually joining a faction. Wages in Bannerlord are super punishing with daily wages, so it becomes hard to save money.
>>
>>2378025
Keep your troop numbers low and dip your toes into every pie. Chase tournaments and bandit hideout clearing missions, and also keep an eye for good trade deficits to exploit between towns. Southern empire has relatively clustered cities that have good shit you can buy cheap and sell high up north.
>>
>>2378025
buy low sell high
>>
>>2378025
battles are all you need in bannerlord. have some high level archers and hunt looters then progress to stronger bandits that don't have shields.
forest bandits are very strong because ranged is overtuned.
>>
>>2378025
Battles, tournaments, smithing, caravans/convoys, enterprises, alleys, trading and prisoners.

Alleys are best early game since it requires only a companion and clearing said alley and gives enough money to sustain a small party whle giving roguery.
Tournaments are great, more nobles the better. Source of mid tier equipment.
Trading is passive, judge from what towns have as output and input, basics
Same for enteprises.
Caravans/convoys are a lot more profitable now. You can also tell the caravan directly which kingdoms to avoid so they won't get robbed during war once you become a mercenary/vassal.
Smithing afaik still hasn't been patched so 2 handed swords give a lot of money.
>>
Did they fix captains not being correctly assigned when you join battle in beta?
>>
Does /mbg/ like to dump INT or take on the skills themselves?
>>
>>2378025
Economy is one my my biggest gripes with Bannerlord. Unfortunately just fighting battles and seeling the loot is a billion times more efficient way of making money than anything else. Well, not quite anything, because smithing is still the most profitable, but smithing is basically cheating tier in how much it breaks the economy.
But workshops, tournaments, quests, even trading and even fiefs - they're all very significantly less profitable than in Warband, and thus much less viable.
>>
>>2378060
I try to make a different build everytime I play, but in general yeah, I think INT is the objectively best stat for the player character. You really can not beat having 14 surgery and pathfinding, especially since if you level them up on your own character, you max them quite quickly, while companions generally take ages to get to 10.
But it all kind of depends on the mod I'm playing. If it has extremely powerful units, then surgery is all the more important. But if it has various magical items and improved ironflesh, then maybe playing a melee character is the more fun choice.

>>
>>2378053
>Smithing afaik still hasn't been patched so 2 handed swords give a lot of money.

It takes so much grinding to make good ones its not worth it now. I tried finding new smithing exploits recently and basically it all comes down to how fancy the parts are because there is a value multiplier in using rarer materials even if their stats are all ass and mediocre. I had this spear that alternated between 900 21,000 shekels by swapping the hilt part even if the cheaper part made it longer and hit harder.

Fulfilling orders is still good though. XP bonus and they pay out a lot more if you put out a really good weapon, closee to actual value vs market sale value.

Thanks for the advice anons. I'll try out the game for a while longer, but I can't say I am having too much fun with it right now. It feels even more grindy than warband. The women are kinda cute though. Is there also any way to increase travelling speed? The map is just massive in comparison to warband. I have no prisoner penalty, as many horses as I can have without a herding penalty, and everyone is well fed.

There are, but vanilla has always been incredibly comfy to me. Pendor is great ofc as an example, but it doesn't have the same charm as vanilla to me.

Bannerpage is a Warband mod.
>>
>>2378346
Huh, I was planning on trying out the Runesmith and going with some firearm, but a lot of his perks revolve around the Spellcasting and Faith skills, despite him not having any magic. Wonder how is that supposed to work.
Also it's been a long time since I've played Old Realms, is it normal that the number of shaders left to compile doesn't move? It's been the same for like 15 minutes already.

Are there any mods that allow Lords to make decisions independent of their family yet? The clan system in Bannerlord is fucking awful

>Hey, this is the intended design. Unless you are the leader of the army or the commander of the siege, you will join under the leader, AI lord will manage the troops and determine the captains. Not being able to use the deployment screen is also intentional due to previous design. Thank you for your time. Please let us know if you encounter any other issues.

>I'm sorry, but that "granularity" is inconsequential because there's little to no way you're gonna be micromanaging exactly where each attack you do lands with M&B's limited directional system.

it makes armor coverage actually matter though which goes a long way to offset how some armors are shit on stats despite being perfectly functional designs vs the garbage rags and fantasy larp gear some factions have. You can in fact aim thrusts and swings well enough if they're completely naked or just cloth, but it matters the most in really dense formation fights with infantry blobs and also archer spam, since it also gets rid of magnetic shields. Exposed face helmets are also less good despite being stronger on paper thanks to that.

>The only situation where it actually would arguably be useful is for horse armors, so that barding isn't a "cover all" item, but actually protects the body, back legs and head differently.

It does that too and also makes the legs protected slightly by the torso which makes longer mail coats useful for infantry.

be really cool if there were consequences to crossing borders with giant armies in tow during peacetime without having alliances or noble rights
>>
>>2378103
There is 0 chance this AI shit is worth anything, it's just going to regurgitate some slop text at you that it will eventually forget about, or like all LLMs it will just start doing whatever you tell it and repeating once context is filled. LLMs can't store any state so the mod will need a whole framework to keep track of that. If it messes with game mechanics, the framework for controlling that correctly is going to be just as more or more work than doing it without AI.

Basically I'm not even going to fucking bother since I actually know the only way AI can realistically interface with this game.
>>
I like how Vasnar rewards you for being an evil person

Well, that's what the player is for.

I would like to play Bannerlord, but I can't of want to wait until they stop updating it.
>>
>>2378673
Damn, you're so wise, you know so much better than the thousands of people who have actually tried this and think highly of it. its so weird that they're not reporting these issues, maybe they're just not noticing them cuz they're so dumb. Or maybe your idea of AI is several years out of date and a fucking bannerlord mod doesn't really tax modern technology very much.
>>
>>2378703
Play Perisno instead
>>
>>2378771
It does make me wish I had a spare 10k to drop on a supercomputer to run an LLM locally so I can store a run without the AI eventually forgetting. I love AI roleplaying but forgetting things is a bummer.

Do i lose out on a large amount of xp if i delegate intelligence skills in bannerlord?
I want my character to be the highest possible level but needing to put 5 focuses into steward and engineering is pretty rough especially for an early game character

every char has a safed 100last message context + the world, info/secrets, cultural tradtition, ai personality/background/etc for said char. thats enough, really
even 10k computer with llm are not better than api´s yet. 1 euro per big chatty-session is worth it.

(i don´t use it with the Warhammer Mod tho)
>>
>>2378953
So free version apis are not good enough?
>>
There really are too few persistent characters in the world to even build appropriate roleplaying. Sure you can't have every civilian in town or soldier in you party named but like people performing functions and occupying roles? We have notables in towns and villages but there's nothing like a hierarchy for everyone to fit into and so many more things that lack a face to talk to. Things like a captain of the garrison, the bailiff, the magistrate, the town mayor, the guild master, the head of council, the chancellor, the secretary, the marshals, butlers and chamberlains of a castle, the entourage and wards of a noble, the various clients of a notable patron, down to the goons and family of a gang leader. There is nobody to talk to who is someone in the world beyond lords. I don't think an AI chatbot alone can plug those gaps without other mods.
>>
>>2378948
>that growth
kek
How are the orks? I've been playing the dwarves, and it's pretty rough. We're at constant war with everybody, the party sizes are smaller and my goddamn runesmith career ability doesn't seem to work. On top of that nobody is selling unit runes, so I'm guessing I just have to get lucky and find them as loot somewhere? Fucked up honestly.
They're units are quite good though at least.

>investing focus points in engineering
Don't, even if you are playing a max INT character, Engineering is never worth the focus points.
If you're worried about losing out on the exp you get from killing people with siege engines/rocks/pots in sieges then don't worry you will still get engineering XP from that even if you have an engineer companion assigned in your party role.
I think XP obtained after maxing a skill to the limit still counts for leveling your main level anyway and isn't affected by the attribute/focus bonus multiplier.
>>
>>2379017
i read somewhere that you lose out on a ton of xp when delegating the roles... is that not true? can i dump steward/engineering and just take medicine becuase of the overpowered capstone?
>>
The LOTR mod by the end of this year will probably be pretty kino
Also has anybody played the Late Roman Empire mod? Is it good?
>>
>Fast enough to catch bandits
>Take one (1) prisoner
>Never catching another party again
Can someone explain what i'm doing wrong?
>>
>>2379040
You do lose out on some XP but Steward and Medicine are slow to level anyway, the amount of XP you get from these skills is miniscule compared to other skills like Athletics and Riding.
If you're only interested in Medicine because of the final perk that gives HP and don't want to take up Steward, I suggest you don't bother with Intelligence at all and instead invest in all three Vigor skills.
One handed 225 gives +10 HP to infantry
Two handed 200 gives +5 HP to all troops
Polearm 100 gives +3 HP to infantry
Polearm 200 gives +5 HP to all troops
Athletics 25 gives +5 HP to foot troops
Vigor also requires less attribute points because you can get 2 free Vigor points from Athletics and Smithing perks.
>>
Holy kino
not the best for me though, since I'm a killed with an axe, so I don't really need another close range weapon

Still, it's incredibly satisfying. Gotta be careful about friendly fire though.

>Immortal Charm
Cheat
>Unlock All Smithing Parts
Cheat.
>Player Governor Mod
Decent QoL that makese sense in-game.
>More Town Boost
Cheat. Would be more balanced if it was also dependant on Town Prosperity or Militia size or something, to reperesent that you can't throw money at a problem at build Rome in a day.
>Arena Practice with your own gear
Cheat.
>Auto Wait In Cities for Stamina
QoL. Would prefer the mod that instead sends a message once your stamina is fully recovered, rather than adding a whole new button for it.
>Secure Majority Vote with Influence as A Vassal
Cheat. However, the Native system does suck ass.
>Auto Buy Food in Town or Castles
QoL. Wouldn't use it, however.
>Clan Build Mirror (Auto Education and Guidance and Clan Member Leveling)
QoL. Wouldn't use it, however, even if the Native system sucks.
>Auto Army Cohesion
Cheat.
>Shared Party Xp (with party clan members and companions)
Cheat.
>Minimum Learning Rate (leveling uncapped)
Cheat.
>ARENA FULL XP (practice and tournaments)
Cheat. I don't give a fuck tho, the Arena is pointless without mods like this.
>Aimbot Projectile Magnetism
Shameless cheat.
>Smart Auto Recruit
QoL. Would never use it, however.
>Party and Caravan Auto Respawn
Looks like QoL, but is probably a Cheat.
>Caravan Trade Xp
Looks like a Cheat, but is probably QoL.
>>
>>2379373
I mean they are giga niggas, but I think it's still just a big human skeleton. What else would it be though?
