For the bus tour it was probably X amount paid plus a percentage of merch sales. Since it didn't do very well she didn't lose any money, but didn't get any from merch.

That's definitely what happened. If you look at the other collab tours they're just narrated by the vtubers and merch. Rica's was a tour, mystery game, fruit picking and merch. I want to be optimistic and say the bus tour company broke even.
