While waiting for the second round to begin, I chanced upon one of the dismounted melee matches. In contrast to the knights of high birth and renown who fight for their oshi's honor, these lowly hedge knights seem content to brawl over some vague notion of "numbers" and their authenticity or lack thereof. Seeing how savagely they go at it with their monkey helmets is quite a lot of fun and a good way to pass the time before the jousts.
