Crazy to think that we now know that Norsemen didn't just get to North America a century before believed, but in fact around 1000AD

Also thank you OP for going through the effort of posting these they're very much appreciated

There's a festival dedicated to this mushroom that I go to every year, and I've been to the actual site of the mushroom multiple times

I go full open-mouth, finger-pointing soi mode when I see U-haul trucks with this livery

Is everything already posted from there?

Wonderful thread. I always loved seeing the trucks around town or on road trips when I was a kid.

There is a great book that tells the story of the discovery of the giant squid called Preparing the Ghost. The discoverer, Reverend Moses Harvey, was a very interesting character.

I could've sworn I've seen others besides this batch posted. When looking around for some info, I did find this kind of interesting: http://www.kingillustration.com/u-haul-hidden-character.html

There's apparently a hidden U haul dude in each illustration somewhere.

Whoever thought of this campaign should be made CEO of the company. I loved seeing these designs on the sides of trucks during long road trips as a kid stuck in the backseat for 10 hours, when I saw a state I'd never seen before it was exciting.
These are like romanticized textbook covers. They remind me of childhood, when you didn't already know everything. You could just find out about New Mexico one day and it was exciting. I liked the state quarters that started coming out in the late 90s too but I could never collect them because I had to spend them on candy.

Great thread OP, thank you for posting them!
