I've been meeting up with an old friend recently. I hadn't seen him regularly for about 6 years. I've met up with him three times as of late. I shot him a message a month ago and he was excited to meet back up. We just go on walks around town and talk about life.
Because of covid and related events that happened after it I never got to be a kid. I had to grow up quickly because things were bad for me. For example, I never got to go to highschool.

I've been looking for this one particular webm for a while. It's a forest scene that has tiny creatures playing instruments made out of natural items like fungus or what have you. It stings. Not because of strict adherence to thread etiquette, but because they are being posted to prop up the dying thread. A few years ago it felt like that never had to happen. The mainstay threads would regularly hit bump limit and everyone had a good time.

It's like watching a thriving ecosystem dry up. The plants and animals that once flourished are withered and rotting, and all that's left is a dry basin. Any signs of life are quickly sprayed with pesticides (new captcha, moderation team) and OC is one in a hundred.

I love 4chan. It hurts.

OK I suppose. Life has been in an "upswing". Got a job this year, bought a nice car on a loan that I can pay off (provided I keep the job). No friends since forever. Only my mom who I really keep a social connection with. Get on well enough with my co-workers. Life fucking blows is my opinion, and I missed my youth in its entire. Not great. This past year I had to break up with the woman I thought I'd marry, because she wanted me to move to NY with her but I couldn't leave my father alone. He needs me, to get groceries for him, to push his wheelchair, for a lot of little things.

I relate to this feeling. But I think this melancholic lack of being able to share this has something beautiful to it aswell. It's like in those movies where children find out about this secret magical world and have a huge adventure, then come home and noone ever knows about what they went through.
Even as I aged I still feel like a little kid sometimes thinking of all these beautiful worlds and stories i was allowed to explore that so many people will never experience.
