The funny part about this is that my mum and I both called it correctly when we said this bitch was gonna eat it on the course. The people on the news were trying to play it off like she was some kind of hero instead of a retard
She's too old for that shit anyway

she had a torn ACL and basically sent it, she grazed the flag post a bit too much and it rotated her mid-flight, whatever thought she had of going out there and being heralded as one of the GOATs died with that crash, her ligaments, bones and cartilage in her lower body have been demolished, she's also no longer in a phase of her life where her body would replenish the bones naturally anymore
it's over.

Some context they left out: she completed two practice runs on the same course already, 11th fastest on Friday and 3rd on Saturday before the actual event Sunday. She was a podium level Olympic athlete who simply messed up on the run that mattered. It wasn't her ACL, she just picked a bad line in that turn and clipped a pole at 70mph.

You can post audio on here, so why not? That said, this board is supposed to be "work safe" and it is somewhat debatable as to whether or not that is.

cue sports were trialed for japan or paris but there was too much politicking between the various orgs. it was chinese 8 ball, 9 ball, snooker and I think 3 cushion? Olympics will never admit them unless they create an international org for all cue sports.

French billard (which means "pool" in french btw).
Even in France it's a bit niche now, it was really popular in the 80's. There are no pockets because the goal here is to hit the two other balls in one move. It doesn't seem like it, but it's actually quite challenging to play.

Am i just tripping the fuck out, or does this look like she did that intentional? I keep watching this in frame-by-frame, and it looks like she should have had plenty of clearance, but she flicks her wrist a fraction of a second before she actually clips it, like she was TRYING to catch it with her pole. bitch probably took a dive.

large cash payouts can also be life changing and career ending. Was she even injured from this? Because it's very easy to tuck and roll when you know it's coming. Maybe I'm just a retard who has no idea what I'm saying, but that's why I'm asking questions. And I would be VERY curious to see if there were any large polymarket bets against her

I mean... this might kinda be a fucked up thing to point out, but the VAST majority of Olympic athletes spend their entire lives training, and they only ever get one or MAYBE two shots at the big event. After that, you are too old, and there are literally thousands of elite athletes looking to replace you

if she did it on purpose she could've paralyzed herself for all you know. it's not a exactly pillow of ice - it's dense and maintained throughout the event to keep its shape

>Have sex incel
This would accelerate the "overpopulation" narrative you believe AND create more enemies against you.
Leftists have the least amount of children of their peers.
You told them to have sex for a decade and a half, so thats exactly what your enemies did.
Meanwhile you are third wheeling in your 5 man 1 woman "polycule".

If her leg was absolutely fucked and she wasn't physically capable of maneuvering properly she would have wiped out on the first practice run. This is not the only time a skier has clipped a pole, mistakes happen even at the highest levels of sports. The crash was worse because of her previous injury for sure but she wasn't struggling to keep up or anything.

I don't understand what is so great about that? Admittingly I have not watched all of that or any of the others, but it looks like standard stuff. There doesn't look like there was any mistakes. The real problem of course is that isn't a sport no matter how hard they train and how athletic they are. It's simply dancing on ice, it is if they had dancing in the summer Olympics, hence why the breakdancing was such a complete dud, well apart from Raygun of course ;)

>dance competitions are sport
ok
>>
>>
>>6098857
If you look at my original comment I literally acknowledged that they are athletic, that isn't even in dispute. In fact more athletic than actual sports in many cases. However, you can't just have anything that is athletic or even physically demanding and create a sport out of it. You can have it competitive. Do you really think having say dancing on roller skates in the summer Olympics would be accepted as a sport? The only other close sport in the summer Olympics would be athletics, which is also a judged sport. Sure they both have technical elements that are judged on and certainly the floor part of gymnastics has the dance element to it. The ice dancing tho strays too far from what a sport really is tho. It isn't the only one in both editions of the Olympics that has the problem, the bobsleigh and the skeleton and luge are not really sport's tier either, but they are at least race related.

I didn't watch much of this girl – I hate her hair and I don't like figure skating or ice dancing anyway – but the little jump back-kick at the start and the jump splits kick at about 0:53 were very endearing. quite tiktok ish.

The Canadian team was caught touching the stone after the hogline, which isn't allowed, and even before the hogline you can only touch the handle, not the stone itself. They were called out on their game against Sweden and, instead of admitting their mistake and taking the stone out of play, as the gentlemanly tradition of curling would suggest, they started shittalking. They went on to win gold. Cheating pays off.

No, did you even watch the program you're talking about? The backflip (and choreo sequence that included it) was basically the only thing he got right. But unlike what the anon you replied to said, it's not a particularly hard move to land, just very risky if you fail.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>6093500
Not any more I'd bet, and at the time they started umpiring it but I think those days are now long gone. The real penalization was the fact pretty much everyone including quite a few Canadians called them shitheads and the ones that other teams got umpired on but would probably have been let go under the old system as accidental/not improving the curl. Kind of world a top-level of a sport was able to go this long but unsurprising a country that invests a good 30% of its national character in winter sports would be the straw to break it.

>>6098628
>The real problem of course is that isn't a sport no matter how hard they train and how athletic they are.
A lot of the metrics towards performance based events like gymnastics, snowboarding, or figure skating are based on the types of moves performed during the routine and the complexity.
The music is there just to enhance the performance, but what's actually being measured is objectives like the type of move and the number of rotations. The subjective score comes from how clean the moves in question are executed, whether the athlete faltered on the landing. The subjective scores, where the judges award 1-10, are effectively multipliers for the moves.
Using diving as an example, you can do a phenomenal swan dive with no splash and receive a 10/10.
But you'll still be outperformed by a sloppy triple flip.
