Don't know where it's from, but here's the textless, presumably original version.

I wonder if this is, like, a genre of its own...

how did you find the textless version?

I was wondering specifically about a girl in a white dress with a duck/goose head... it's strange to see more than one such image.

Yandex image search, it was on somethingawful but without a source.

If it helps that's Mikoto Minagi from My-Hime. I did a very cursory search on boorus and didn't find that art though.

Saucenao says this is from fairy tail:

>TV Series (2014-2016) - 102 Episodes
>JPTitle: FAIRY TAIL (2014)
>EPName: Moulin Rouge

There is even an actual figurine, whoa...

Considering that this is an image from what is probably 2005 or soon after, it's probably something that only existed on the artist's website, before uploading to pixiv became the norm. So much of that stuff is gone forever, and it never stops to pain me. I used to browse and save that stuff, but that was six computers and many broken hard drives ago.

it might be saved on archive.org

Was it a dress she wore in an actual episode?

Yes. Just saw it today, actually. Ep 16.

you recognize the art style?

yeah, the artist used to frequent 2chan and make these chibi characters at around 2003-2005
Mai-HiME got some traction there as well at the time, being a 2004 series
