I'm looking for a cracked copy of RPGMAKER MZ but all I find are the steam version.
There is a standalone version not tied to steam, but I can't find it.

I have no idea, but it should work just fine without Steam. You'll just need to adjust the locale according to the last post in the thread. Is there a difference between the Steam and the non-Steam version?
...Ironically enough, I'm also looking for a non-Steam version of an RPG Maker. But in my case, it's XP, I need the Japanese version that hasn't been uploaded anywhere. That one is definitely different from the Steam one, as the Steam one doesn't render Japanese text at all (and also uses a different RTP to boot, old software has its quirks...)

Also a couple of uploads on archive.org, probably likewise you'll need to change language.

I've seen some steam games that need the steam client to be launched, they can't function without steam, I don't know why.
Also some use Spacewar to function. What I mean is that I don't want any extra fluff or online connections, I want the standalone game. I tried the 20 days trial version and it's a standalone version, I just don't have the crack. I've been checking some and they seem to be 100% offline, dunno.

Any way I can check if they have been tampered or if they have crypto miners or things like that?

Also I have the 1.8 version but there is a new 1.9 update, do I change the files with a clean copy paste of the new updated files, or do I have to do anything else? I'm assuming it doesn't change that much from 1.8 to 1.9

I don't think anybody ever checked, but there was also no instances of that happening ever in the history of RPG Maker, so I think it's safe to use pirated copies as long as you don't tell about it openly everywhere.

This link is apparently 1.9 so you can just try using that

But also it's not like the updates are major, so using 1.8 should be perfectly fine for 99.9% of projects. Most of the functionality outside of the core stuff (that didn't change much since the original 90s makers) is in the mods anyway.

Do you know of any dlc and plugging I could use? I find vanilla RPGmaker kind of lacking.
Old dlcs from older versions should work with MZ also, except maybe some excptions.
I don't know what are the must have.

I think maybe I'm looking for something that allows me to program a bit more on my own (I know java) or maybe something that expands on the battle system and allows me to make more cool stuff besides a simple rpg combat.
Dunno for the moment the assets and tools seem a bit "introductory" as expected, I think maybe for the moment I need more "mandatory" assets.

If you want to program on your own, you might be better off using a different engine, to be honest. Godot or maybe Gamemaker. Java has some game frameworks too. RPGM quickly gets inconvenient if you try to do things in non-default ways.
