Gentlemen I'm struggling to find new engaging YT channels, the only video recommendations I'm getting are [current real life happening] propaganda trash, inane internet drama, AI dogshit (thumbnail, narration and/or imagery), true crime, video essays about pieces of media be they movies, anime or videogames, and gaming videos.
I am very disappointed by these results and would like to create a thread to share good finds we may have come across in this sea of excrement.

I ask that you kindly adhere to the following rules:
- NO channels involving any of the above;
- only ONE recommendation per post with a very brief description of what it's about (this is to avoid big long laundry lists which tend to be offputting to read and also time consuming to write, so let's keep recs short and clean gentlemen); preferably accompany your post with a relevant image too so anons can tell at a glance what it's about;
- preferred but not obligatory is to share stuff that doesn't "put you down", you know? So much stuff I see go about this or that tragedy and it's just a neverending kick to the balls. Serious events can still be presented in an interesting or funny manner that isn't completely disarming however so I won't make this a hard requirement, also to avoid being too strict with the rules, which I don't even have the power to enforce anyway

A channel about Japanese entertainment media. I know this sounds close to what OP asked to avoid but here you get interviews with actual directors instead of being centered on some random e-celeb narrating a three hour retelling of the plot of shrek with a communist lense or something like that.

Obligatory mention of Technology Connections, most videos are about the inner workings of technology that we regularly use but rarely think how it actually functions. Both current and older stuff.
