Last month I started a project after having a hypnagogic vision about a research protocol in newspapers and books prior to 1830, searching for "splinters". Here is my note from that night:

The plan initially consists of scouring free scan hubs, such as HathiTrust, Gallica...

There is a data concept called n-gram, the idea would be to do this in bulk using some algorithm, I believe it's plausible to program in Python, even through vibecoding, but preferably, it should be "customized". We would search for terms (splinters) that might reveal anomalies (deluge, mud, buried city, red sky, second sun, giants, electrical machines, ether, cataclysm, tartaria, plumbing, petrification, energy towers, sudden epidemic, etc). The symbol that came to mind for this project is the Three Hares the symbolism is spot on, even for what we do here at /dgg/. I started doing this manually, to test if my idea would bear fruit, and indeed, it did.

I discovered that this journal was sponsored and had a ghost editor, none other than Alexander Pope, who has a curious connection to our topic, directly, because of his work The Dunciad. Seriously, the way Pope subtly exposes some "hermetic" secrets amidst contemporary satire is very interesting...

After reading a lot about Isaac Newton and his opponents, I found out about John Hutchinson, who would be the basis for opposing Newtonian "science." He used theology as a basis to explain the world, and even though we are already aware of the biblical fallacy, we also have a notion of scientific deceit. Up to the present moment, I have been, through my own abstraction and the use of LLMs, validating its capability quite well, but machines lie and i cannot trust pure intuition in this case... The other tradition of Atlantis...

Theopompus was an ancient Greek historian and rhetorician, a contemporary of Alexander the Great. His works were unfortunately lost, but fragments of his work Philippica survived in quotations and excerpts. Thanks to this, we have access to the story of Meropis, an ancient lost continent that seems in many ways to be a parallel to Atlantis. Academics treat this text as a parody of Plato, but neither the compiler nor the original text suggests it is a parody or allegory. Here is a summary of the myth of Meropis:

Fair enough, can see how the posts can be construed as supporting vamparism. "The 1857 U.S. Coastal Survey map of San Francisco, published in 1859 under the supervision of A.D. Bache, presents a peculiar conundrum. The map reveals an 80-foot sand dune on Market Street just west of Kearny and 3rd Streets, an anomaly that starkly contrasts the surrounding urbanized landscape (United States Coast Survey, 1859)."

"The existence of a large sand dune on Market Street during this period raises questions, as it contradicts the broader narrative of urban development reflected in the rest of the map. Mainly east of the future site of Union Square, the map indicates an advanced state of urbanization. Streets, including St. Mark's Place, had been graded and constructed, and an alley had been transformed into an actual road. Even Geary and Post Streets were shown as being cut and graded almost up to what was then identified as the Public Square. This level of development suggests that the region was transitioning from a natural landscape to a structured urban environment."
