Religion was created by the high caste to keep the lower castes pacified and obedient, who get told what they want to believe. In other words, it's political propaganda disguised as spirituality, same as any other organized religion that ever existed. No higher-ups in the Church believe in this nonsense, they get paid to larp (best job in the world).
