Does anyone else get that weird feeling when you first lie down to sleep when you're tired? Where you're both regular size and giant at the same time? And the giant version is a ghostly projection, like this? (artistic representation attached)

i feel like that a lot, it's why i smoke tons of weed haha. it tends to intensify during hypnagogic states.

I used to smoke a lot of weed but don't think I ever entered a hypnagogic state. But I do remember it fucking with my spatial understanding when I first smoked it

I feel the opposite because I suppress my consciousness while I sleep as not to draw unwanted attention. I've had enough.

I used to have that a lot 30+ years ago. It's always accompanied by some fucked up feeling of the larger "me" bearing down violently on some...thing. Very distressing. Still happens on rare occasion and makes it impossible to fall asleep. but if I open my eyes and just wait a while it stops. Hard to believe there's someone else who's experienced this stuff.
