Most martial arts technique is useless in MMA or no rules fighting. Most wrestling grips, judo, bjj techniques go out the window
It becomes 99% of the time the most simple boxing/kickboxing and the simplest takedowns and submissions

yep.
That's why it's the basic that are taught a lot and refined most of the time.
Then, you do the classes for the advanced techniques to get better given a ruleset as you'll face knowledgable opponents with a set of rules.
What else do you need to prove retard ? MMA doesn't stop bullets ? Faggot

Most countries don't allow you to carry weapons. Also have fun meeting bubba and friends in the shower after having a minor scuffle which you pull out your " long knife"
Further to that, a trained BJJ fighter will most likely shove that knife up your own asshole kek

Purple belt here, no I fucking won't and neither will the previously mentioned McDojo arts like 'eskrima, iaijutsu, and gun kata' (Fucking hilariously retarded btw, I don't know what level of delusional weeb you have to be to subscribe to any of these).
But I'm also not retarded enough to try and fight someone with a knife/gun and die, unlike the previously mentioned. Fortunately I live in a country where the likelyhood of either is incredibly low, making bjj super practical.

Yes, if you don't care about the sport and just want to have a fighting chance in a real fight, carry a weapon (like an easily concealable gun or knife, depending on the law) and train with it, at lest enough to know how to use it. It will be faster and much more effective than 20+ years of martial arts training.

Good thing your knife was originally intended for "opening packages" and not as a weapon. And good thing that you are always carrying a convenient tiny package that you were intending to open before the officers of the law stopped you to question you about your knife.

MMA rules are so constricting. They have no place in the art of war.

Most retarded take, almost everything from the main five (boxing, Muay Thai, jiu jitsu, wrestling, judo) is useful depending on context. It’s better to have it and not need it. Would pulling guard and going for single x as a main strategy be retarded? Of course. But if you end up there you’d better know what to do. That said, generally a double leg, pinning them in half guard and bashing them is the optimal strategy. Also arguing about what’s useful in da streetz is boring and useless

The only fight in my adult life that came to blows was saved because I learned a judo throw at a workshop at a fucking anime con. He went to punch my head and I rolled him over my back onto the ground (don't know what it's actually called) and while I still had his arm I started double-boot stomping on his head four or five times until I broke and ran for it.

MMA is useless and dangerous in street fights. The last thing you want to do in a street fight is grapple someone and try to throw muay thai knees or submit them. Cue their friends kicking you in the head or worse, them pulling a knife and stabbing the shit out of you. On the streets, all of your distance-maintaining styles like taekwondo and karate regain importance. Aikido and judo are useful for redirecting attacks and avoiding getting sued. That is, if you want to handle those situations realistically as an adult and not end up in court or in the morgue. But by all means, go be a tough guy.

not really. it's just hollywood gives a false sense of what martial arts really is. MMA = mix martial arts. it's just some forms lack some shit so they mix them together.

Lol, tell me you don't know how to fight and have never been in one without telling me OP.
You OP like most men are a pussy and do not know how to fight, every body talks a big game, because you'll likely never have to prove it, but you're just speculating.
The truth is technique is everything and people who train and spar do that repetition daily, I know where your liver is and when to dip and hit it, most people never felt a liver shot. Most people in a street fight don't know how to throw a proper kick and do not expect a stranger to be able to throw a roundhouse 6ft in the air, or a spinning back kick, and even less could defend it. You don't know how to slip, and if you start throwing how quickly you gas out, meanwhile I know both those things.
See I'm prepared for a day that may never come, but if it does I'm ready. Meanwhile you probably don't even know how to put your weight behind a punch. Stay bitch made OP, but don't make excuses.

you can still jab them standing without needing to go 28 days on someone, like ufc poster boys. going for the nuts can be a kick, not necessarily chewing them up.
also it's not true 100% life or death. if you are on top and not gouging my eyes out, it's a good idea for me not to tell you I'm ready to go that far, so you don't get the idea and give me the same treatment from a better place for it. better to have a concussion than a concussion and blindness. maybe if you play it right it works (ex: using something to avoid just the gouging, like tying you with my shirt just right), but the risk is high.
and if I'm grabbing your nape and going for it on equal ground, you can do it too. quick stabs and pokes are safer because you can switch positions. also you could do enough damage without needing control if you finger someone just right, just like with a strike laying down.

>MMA is useless
Completely useless is an exaggeration. But certain techniques or strategies being bad for the different conditions of the street is perfectly true. One of the most egregious is the ground-and-pound strategy. If you want to look good in court or use minimal force you can just pin the guy once they’re on the ground, and if you want to look bad or are in an extreme situation that calls for drastic action you can stomp them properly to disable their limbs or potentially kill them. But ground-and-pound has the worse of both worlds with none of the benefits.
>The last thing you want to do in a street fight is grapple someone and try to throw muay thai knees or submit them.
Not all grappling is ground grappling. Standing submissions exist, and the rear-naked-choke has been adopted by many police forces with success. If your criticizing grappling more generally then you should know the judo and aikido you praise are technically considered grappling arts. I don’t know about Muay Thai’s specific style but knees are useful when dealing with close opponents.
