Oh boy, there is a LOT to learn about running AI image generating matrix on your computer. The 24 gig vram 3090 would be plenty beefy enough to do it though, assuming you have the other requirements.

If learning how to generate is something you have been thinking about, I would say give it a shot. No censorship, tons of characters and styles, you really can go nuts and make some awesome things if you like Yaoi. I have personally had a great time making semi-realistic portraits of characters I like, especially the more obscure ones that don't have a lot out there (though not TOO obscure, there still needs to be a couple of hundred decent images of them to train on.

I built this PC 6 months ago, since i hadnt gotten a new computer in ~8 years. The intention was making it an AI workhorse (hence why i went with a 3090) but desu, i've just been too busy to bother. I have tried stable-diffusion-webui though.

Not to be completely pedantic, but I am specifically referring to Solid State Drives. SSDs use Flash Memory for "storage".

When the word storage is used, I personally think of old style hard disk drives (although I appreciate the term storage covers a lot of ground). HDD is not recommended because of how many gigabytes of information is required to be moved between Vram/Ram/SSD on a regular basis. It will slow you down like crazy if an HDD in involved.

But anyway, I meant you will need hundreds of gigs of storage space, not Ram/VRam.

Good, it sounds like you are all set up to start whenever you want. Now all you need is time and patients. Don't be afraid to reach out and ask questions. Not just to me or anything, but there are a lot of people playing with it on reddit and civitai/huggingface. Also, using copilot or other assorted chat ai can help understanding specific settings or terms, even addon usage sometimes.
