And it wasn't just a one-off thing, he tortured that function religiously. Not just that, he also utilized a plethora of other addons that did shockingly fundamental things included in base blender. Only brainlets afraid to learn new things refuse to use addons.

Edge flow is mostly just a side effect of actually knowing how to poly model. It's not a first principle to making good models. And spending a significant amount of time min-maxing poly count is essentially greifing your employer when you live in the west because it's so time consuming and hence costly and gives such little performance gains.
