At 30, with a criminal record (misdemeanors), do you think I can get a paralegal degree and get a comfy office job?
I'm not that good socially though and office politics scare tf out of me so I'm not too sure.
Any advice

You can do whatever you set your mind to. But the trick is you actually gotta set your mind to it, and that will mean using that mind to try and think from the employer's PoV. If you own a firm or a business and you are looking at resumes and applications and you've a stack of them, and you are looking through them one by one and you either put the ones with promise on one side of the table, and ones you don't like in the trash. Where do you think they will put the one that shows they have spent criminal convictions? (Keep in mind the have a stack of 100 in their hand).
Into the trash. Because they know they've got 99 in a pile under your application with zero criminal convictions to choose from.
Are you fucked? Well not quite because now you know half the battle. Half the battle is employer's trash criminal applications. Pieces of paper. So the way to get around that is give them a face and a voice and a handshake. Do not apply to jobs remotely or by sending in your papers to them at a distance. Actually show up, ask to speak with the boss give a firm handshake and a smile, hand then your application, and thank then for the opportunity.
They will remember how you made them feel (respected) and they will be more willing to overlook your criminal convictions. If they ever dwell on your criminal past, they will remember your first impression and they will think "he has changed for the better. I think it's not a bad idea to give this man a chance."
And because they will be wrestling with this possibility, they spend more thought on (you) and less in the faceless stack of 100 good boy normie paper applications.
Meaning you just got yourself a job.

You can't even do this anymore. Used to be you could but now there is 3 doors between you and anybody you apply to because of opsec and the reception will just ask you to leave your resume and do nothing.
