Fun morbid fact. A man from Belarus was killed by a beaver in 2013 because he was trying to take a picture with it. The beaver bit him in the leg and severed a major artery. As a result he bled to death.

most birds are similar, too, if you put newspaper or something like that at the bottom of their cage, they'll tear it up into straws so they can make little nests. if you repeatedly change out their fluffy bedding with sheets they will grow neurotic and hateful

pretty much you have to make sure they have Enrichment™ more than say, a dog or cat (which already go a little nuts if they can't do Dog Things and Cat Stuff)
