There is a chance they are still around. It wouldn't be the species to be rediscovered after being believed extinct.
They're small enough that they aren't going to be very easy to find and most people wouldn't know what it is even if they found one.

it's not impossible but reportedly it had a distinctive song that is no longer heard in its former territory

I don't think children should eat their fathers, but after learning about them just today, I just wish they had found a better way

For the people at home wondering, they DID try to breed them in captivity but it just wasn't working. They would lay eggs but the tadpoles would die shortly after hatching anyways.

is that a baby frog or are these two frogs having sex?
>>
>>5121367
On a related note, there are so many endangered frogs trapped in India, which has weird and draconian export rules so that no ex situ captive breeding programs can be started for many of them

>country thinks the rest of the world is out to smuggle their endemic species and goes overboard with regulations meanwhile their local population is the one actually exploiting said species
Many such cases
The only thing you need to save a species is a couple autistic german guys. I'm not joking that the reptile hobby is more efficient than zoos and official institutions at breeding herps en masse
