>>5126131 this is funny because there's a sign that says "thanks for not feeding me" with the exact same photo as the parrot who took that man's bread, thus making it ironic and fun at the same time. -Dr. Rems
>>5126236 I'm not sure by stuff like this if they really enjoy it or if they're freaked out or not knowing whats going on or whatever. do fish, amphibians and retptiles even have these cuddling/petting/being close to someone reactions wired into their brains?
>>5126576 >>5126580 How do you even start here? Do they know them from babies? These divers always have suspiciously too many fingers for it being a random petting encounter.
>>5126656 yeah it propably gets dirty in other ways too, it's just a funny image that a diver has to whipe it with a small rag, but I also don't really know what the atlernative would be
>>5126569 but then it would display defensive posturing, like biting or retreating, not lean into it; if you stick your hand in the burrow theyre in, they can bitten, but thats a stand your ground situation for them also consider the fact than entire species of shrimps evolved for the express purpose of grooming fish, i think every animal likes getting groomed
>>5126727 If you think about it, those undersea cleaning stations mean it makes a lot more sense for fish to understand the concept of getting pet by another species than it does for land animals. Humans are the closest equivalent of those cleaner shrimp on land, I think.
>>5126549 Some fish have a slime coating on their skin that protects them, and touching them may damage that coating and leave them vulnerable to infections. Eels don't AFAIK, and they will often group up together, happily sharing a cave or recess, so they clearly don't mind physical contact.
>>5126844 I assume the humans are engaging in some sort of breath-holding competition & the dogs are just sort of copying them because they don't really know what's going on either.
>>5126884 >humans are engaging in some sort of breath-holding competition It only appears that way but the bucket doesn't have enough water in it. The dog figures it out in the end. Not sure if doggo was confused by humans ability to hold their breath for so long, or concerned for their safety, or maybe just upset they were deceived. Just goes to show you how smart dogs are. The dog figured it out while anons posting ITT did not.
>>5127324 If it makes you feel better, moray eels are generally considered unfit for eating because they accumulate high levels of ciguatoxins >Symptoms may include diarrhea, vomiting, numbness, itchiness, dysesthesia, sensitivity to hot and cold, dizziness, and weakness with lethargy
>>5127514 >Symptoms may include diarrhea, vomiting, numbness, itchiness, dysesthesia, sensitivity to hot and cold, dizziness, and weakness with lethargy That's just a Tuesday. t. lupus patient
>>5127719 because it makes no difference, how many times has there been an outbreak because some street shitter didnt wash their hands and gave everyone ecoli also >china
>>5126647 A lot of the stories I've seen with wild morays involve dive instructors, since they visit the same spots over and over. I think that speaks to the eels' intelligence, they can distinguish people and get curious about the ones who return.
Though unlike the anon who says they're itchy, I think this is just erogenous touch existing in at least every vertebrate. It requires a relaxed state to experience, but even animals with no use for affection, near zero natural social interaction and even no sexual pleasure are built to enjoy being petted.
>>5126549 A lot of people don't seem to realize that a lot of fish on reefs already have cleaner animals that exchange not only cleaning services but also kind of massage/tickles for not being eaten. Cleaner shrimp do this all the time and cleaner shrimp are almost always found with morays so they would be familiar with this kind of thing. These are morays that are probably familiar with people. I doubt you'd want to do this on one that had never encountered humans before.
>>5128320 White skunk. I didn't immediately recognise what it was but that stomp-and-jump-back thing it does is a dead giveaway. That's how skunks play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf8ArgnFi_U
>>5127514 That reminds me, there's this japanese youtuber who does things like go diving to hunt random sea creatures that people don't normally eat, including moray eels. I remember he once said he got food poisoning, don't recall if it's due to the moray or something else.
>>5126549 if they didn't like it they would be swimming away or biting the hand this is true of literally any animal that isn't physically restrained. they don't just sit there and take it if they don't like what you're doing to them
>>5129738 i want to be a kangaroo and pet some doggos while being a cute kangarroo while somobody record me and then later put me on the internet and make peple happy
>>5129849 oh to be a bunny with fluffy paws on a snowy day and some random human give me apple , then proceed to film me and post it on the internet and make more people happy
>>5127847 This. The odd factor isn't that weird animals like getting pet, it's that humans have all their sophisticated touchsense on their hands which means we derive the exact same pleasure when we touch things. We live in a world full of things that want to get pet, and we evolved to enjoy petting.
>>5130064 I always wonder if this is the animal equivalent of humans being abducted by aliens. He's gonna get home and tell his family he got apprehended by giant apes and their strange tools and they won't believe him
>>5126115 reminds me of that video where the girl is grooming her guinea pig and you hear a loud crack of thunder and both her and it look to the side in perfect sync
>>5131061 Thought those were carrots. I fucking love parówki. My local butcher stopped making both parówki and serdelki and I have no fucking idea why. I would bludgeon a cute puppy to death with a second, even cuter puppy if I could get a single good serdelek or parówka. Actually no. That's not worth the death of two good boys. But a lifetime supply on demand? Yeah, I'm bashing some beagles. >not actually; I would never hurt an animal other than for food
>not actually; I would never hurt an animal other than for food Like parówki...
Can't hurt to ask to bring it back, sometimes you cut stuff from your inventory because you project less income. If not you must go on a pilgrimage to a further butcher to get your fill.
